When you want to eat fish with a very reasonable price, the place you should go is here. The fish here is very cheap. And the size is not small at all. This asam telapia is not simple. The asam taste is very strong and it is very nice. The asam taste sourish and enhance your appetite. Then the petai on top but it won't make the fish stinks.

There are few types of otak otak in Malaysia. The one most well know is from muar. This otak otak is more like from muar in terms of size and taste. I think this otak otak was steamed too long. The meat is quite hard. Besides that it taste quite salty. I eat with rice and still it taste very salty. Overall I don't think I will order this dish again.

This place under the bridge is not only famous for their bak kut teh. Their fish head here is one of the few signature dish as well. You can see many tables here either will eat their famous bak kut teh or their fish head. The ginger tilapia here is very reasonable because the price is very cheap and the portion is very big. Even if you order a small portion, it is enough for 4 persons serving. The fish here is fresh. Although it is a fresh water fish, it doesn't has the mud smell. The ginger alr

I never knew what the name of the "restaurant" by the street was until I googled, and it is none other that the famous "Ah Wang Bak Kut Teh".Their bak kut teh is just nice, not too overpowering herbal taste, and the soup is tasty too. Their "yaw mak" vege is nice too, served with crunchy fried garlic and just the right amount of sauce.

Sawi's portion was tad bit small (both were medium). Wine chicken was normal, not fantastic.

A special mention is the famed steamed fish head, priced at RM26/RM28 depending on size. All the food came quickly, including the fish, so it was slightly uncooked inside. When we mentioned it to the server he brought us another candle to keep the fire going, but unfortunately it did not serve its purpose. Nontheless, the fish was average.

A noisy place that is always, always full. At peak hours, its not uncommon to see people standing behind some tables, hoping to book the places of the people they see (or hope) are leaving.

However, they changed their operating hours recently and we don't frequent this place so often anymore..

Here is so crowded during dinner time. You need to fight for parking and place to sit. Luckily the orders are quite fast. Their Bak Kut Teh here is more simple compare to other place. The soup is sweet and won't have very strong herbal taste. Other side dishes like mushroom / yao char koay are available.

The main different between Bah Kut Teh at Klang Lama and most places in Kuala Lumpur is, no pork meat ball and mushroom in the soup. At Ah Wang Bah Kut Teh, we are served with a lot of pork meat. With every spoonful taken from the dish, there is a big chunk of lean meat. But generally, you’ll need to know what you want to order. You can specify the order as which part of the meat that you want : fatty, lean, half-fat / half-lean, ribs, leg or spare parts. The soup tasted like thick black caramel

The soup tasted like thick black caramel soy sauce with little bit of herbal taste. It is also served in one whole hot clay pot instead of multiple small bowls. Hence the temperature of the soup last longer. A scoop of the soup warm your heart and makes you want for more scoops.

Since there were 3 of us, we ordered a serving of 3 portions BKT with primarily lean meat. We did the mistake by specifically asking for lean meat in our BKT, because the pot came with ONLY lean meat! But I guess we learnt from mistakes. Apparently, you have to specify clearly what you want in the soup. Luckily I asked for beancurd sheets (fu chuk) during the order or the pot would just be filled with lean pork.

Don’t forget to order the Chinese Crullers which go hand-in-hand with the savoury soup. Dip them in for a short while and give it a good bite to experience the burst of flavours, literally.

Apart from the BKT, we noticed almost every table ordered fish. Following suit, we asked for recommendation and decided to order the ‘Si Chap Fish’ or translated to soy sauce fish. It was steamed fish topped with a spicy concoction of soy sauce, garlic and chilli among some, so it was spicy and savoury. What was more notable was the freshness of the fish – the flesh was smooth, firm and flaky. This went very well with rice too.

The BKT here is flavourful but still lacked of flavour compared to the ones in Klang. Of course, given the big difference in distance, I wouldn’t mind trading off a little in quality for convenience sometimes, especially when it’s a rainy Friday night and traffic is a nightmare. If you love the light and clear version of BKT soup, do give this a try!

It was a rainy and cold night, which made it a perfect night for some Bah Kut Teh goodness. Just done with an event, a couple of us bloggers decided to crash in at Ah Wang Bah Kut Teh Restaurant located at Jalan Klang Lama just next to Tesco Scott Garden. We were pretty hungry that time, due to the weather and all, hence this was a really good late night meal for each of us. Upon reaching the restaurant which resembles a really large coffeeshop, I was taken aback by the crowd that was already there. It was already pass 11pm, which made me realize Malaysians do really love their Bah Kut Tehs.

There were five of us, four hungry guys and a girl, so we went ahead to order the big bowl specially prepared for five. The huge bowl that arrived in front of us made us smile because we knew then that it was going to be a good meal. Just check out the bowl and some side dishes that we had at Ah Wang Bah Kut Teh that night.

Now I find Ah Wang Bah Kut Teh was pretty generous with the meat. With every spoonful taken from the huge bowl of Bah Kut Teh, we could fish out chunks of yummy meat. The meat were tender enough, with just enough fats to keep us wanting for more. The ingredients that make up a good Bah Kut Teh would be the soup, and this one had a herbal taste to it, which was rather nice, without being too "sweet" or too salty. Taken with the Yau Char Gwai, I know then why there were so many people dining there that night, it was good!

The bill came up to RM68 that night for five of us, which was pretty reasonable as we had four extra orders of rice. It was a good meal, and thanks to Benjamin that recommended this place, I will definately drop by here again should I find myself hungry around the vicinity of Midvalley and Jalan Klang Lama.
