looking forward for desserts after having my lunch and saw canton-i have this very special mango pamelo sago and wanted to try that much. at only RM 9, the desserts serving is worth it, big portion, cooling and refreshing, the mango is cut into small pieces, on top of the mango pudding, and then they have small pieces of the pamelo. sweet and bitter taste really a good combination and i just love the taste

love to dine in here at canton-i. special place to be to dine in with family and friends. long queue as usual, but quite fast the service. they hire many workers. but the space is very crowded. try the famous egg tart. very smooth pastries, the egg tart is fresh , although small portion but taste really awesome. price also reasonable here. they have two tarts in one serving for RM 3.60. highly recommended to try this item

Wantan mee soup. The wantan mee were topped with few pieces of wantan, vegetables and spring onions. The watan mee was thin in texture, quite springy and do not have the alkaline taste. The wantan fillings were springy due to the prawns and the black fungus in it were springy too. The wantan skin was not too thick. The broth was clear and not too salty. Not a bad bowl of noodle.

Fried carrot cake. The fried carrot cake together with prawns, beansprouts, eggs and some spring onions were served. The carrot cake was cut till big pieces and each pieces of them were nicely being stirred fried as all were coated nicely with black soy sauce. The prawns were medium size and fresh. The beansprouts were crispy. Overall, it was slightly salty.

Nothing like a good cup of warm milk tea to round up a meal. The Hong Kong milk tea served in Canton-i was one of the better milk tea I have had in Malaysia. Most restaurant serves a water-down version, but this one is great. Full of tea taste, and combined with milk, the tea is absolutely delicious. The teacup and saucer also had a very nice design on it. Made me reminisce about the good old days I spent in Hong Kong.

The ginseng herbal tea in Canton-i was served lukewarm as per our order. The drink had a very strong ginseng taste, which was not my favourite, but my meal-buddy said that it was great. The herbal tea was boiled together with ginseng, wolfberry as well as some barley seeds. It was not sweet, and it actually tasted slightly bitter to me, probably due to the ginseng. Not my absolute favourite, but perhaps some people may like it.

The jasmine tea with lemongrass in Canton-i is deliciously refreshing, especially after consuming the fatty, meaty dishes that they offer. The drink is the perfect blend of jasmine tea mixed with lemongrass. Not too sweet as well. They serve this drink with some long lemongrass pieces that stick out from the drink. That was a bit annoying as the pieces keep getting stuck inside the straw, but I guess they wanted to "pretti-fy" the drink for creativeness' sake, so I guess we can't complain.

The two combo rice in Canton-i is very filling. A generous serving of piping hot, fluffy rice guaranteed to fill any hungry stomachs. You can choose from a choice of of roast pork, roast duck, BBQ pork, pork belly and many more. It comes with half a salted egg as well as a stalk of choy sum. It also comes with a bowl of carrot, tomato and chicken soup. There were some MSG in the soup, however, that is already expected.

In my opinion, fried sui kow is the perfect accompaniment to any type of dry noodles. The fried sui kow in Canton-i is no exception. Although the inside of the sui kow is not solid, the filling is very generous. There was as a whole piece of big prawn in it, together with some black fungus mushroom as well as some meat filling. Served with some mayonnaise sauce, the dish is superbly crunchy and definitely very enjoyable.

The roast duck in Canton-i is absolutely delectable, though a little of the fattier side. The skin is crispy, while the meat is tender and juicy. However, the noodle is slightly overcooked, hence it doesn't have the al-dente texture that I very much prefer. Served with a stalk of vegetable, the dish would be better if the noodles were done just right. It also comes with a bowl of MSG-laden soup.

The first time I tasted this dish was in Hong Kong, and I have developed a fondness for it. When I saw this in Canton-i's menu, I decided to order. The chinese crullers, or youtiao is wrapped in a layer of chee cheong fun, cut into bite sized pieces. The youtiao is fresh and crunchy, while the layer of chee cheong fun is freshly prepared. They served the char leong separately from the sweet soya sauce, hence you have the option of dipping or if you prefer, you can pour it over the dish. Thumbs-u
