Introduced by Dad, this Sugarcane Juice stall at Jalan Bukit Bendera (Penang Hill). He used to drink it when he was young. After so many years the stall is still in business. The stall is just located at the road side of beginning of Penang Hill road after turning in from the round-a-bout. Just opposite of Asia Cafe and Lye Lye Food Court. They using start the business around 4.00pm in the afternoon.

Many cars will stop by to purchase the fresh squeeze sugar cane drink.

I bought a big packet which only cost of RM2.00. It's so naturally sweet and refreshing.

Chicken Pie @ RM7.90
The chicken pie was heated and served hot to me. The pastry on top is super duper crispy. Everything turn a mess when I start cutting my pie. Despite the ugly situation, the pastry really taste crunchy and delicious with the strong buttery taste. Inside is stuff with minced gravy and just one or two chicken dice. It's like thick campbell soup base in it. Taste soft but acceptable. Overall the pie is nice.

yummy chee cheong fun Smile Jul 31, 2012

This chee cheong fun stall is operate by a couple husband and wife. The husband is very friendly and often chit chat with us. Besides chee cheong fun, they sell otak otak and chai kuih too.

Topped with red chilli paste and sesame. Remember to remove some of the chilli because they are really very spicy. The ''prawn'' paste sauce given is very thick and quite alot too. The sauce has the combination of sweet and salty, hard to describe. Some may not like it but it really depends to individual. Mixing them altogether makes the chee cheong fun taste delicious. Their chee cheong fun is silky smooth and chewy. I actually love biting it.

Curry Mee Smile Jul 31, 2012

Penang style of curry mee is very different from the ones in KL. Penang curry mee is more of the coconut milk that makes the soup looks whitish in color. The soup taste is mild spicy that any kids can eat it. Mixing the homemade chilli paste at your own taste may enhance the soup to taste more fragrantly. Most importantly the ingredients here are all very fresh and sweet, especially the prawns and cockles. One thing i like about this stall curry mee is because they provide this mint leaves that makes the curry mee taste extraordinary, very delicious.

Prawn Noodle Smile Jul 21, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

This coffee shop located at Air Itam, few hundred metros away from Kek Lok Si temple. I always come here for lunch before going to temple. This place is forever so crowded especially weekends in the morning.

Hokkien Mee (prawn noodle)
This a famous dish in Penang, obviously origin from Hokkien. The soup base is boil from prawns with shell, and therefore nowadays people say is ''prawn noodle''. A standard hokkien mee comes with mix of noodle and mee hoon, bean sprouts, sliced pork, kang kung vege, dried prawns and topped with dipped fried onions. Although the soup looks dilute but actually it still has the prawn ''sweetness'' taste. One of the reason i like it because it's not very spicy like those in KL now. The less spicy allowed me to taste the prawn soup well.
