Cookies at The Loaf Smile Jul 31, 2012
Categories : Western variety | Bakery / Cake / Kuih

Another round at The Loaf enables me to try their homemade cookies, instead of the usual breads. This pastry shop sells many varieties, and their cookies are packed in smaller packets with beautiful labels. Suitable as a gift, or sharing with friends and family.

Marble Cookies @ from RM7.80 to RM8.80 each pack

From White Sesame, Cocoa, Coconut to Black Sesame, the cookies serve best as a snack for the family with just the right amount of sweetness! Out of so many flavours, my favourite is the Black Sesame because the cookie is light, and less sweet as compared to others. Every bite of the petite cookies is filled with strong sesame aroma which is great as a snack.

The Loaf - Most Expensive Bread Smile Jul 31, 2012

Categories : Western variety | Sweets/Snack | Bakery / Cake / Kuih

Most of the time, bakeries offer the usual selections of breads but not at The Loaf. Here it is always flocked with huge crowd because of their creativity and freshness in baking. It surprises me with many creative breads, and I am glad to find a such loaf with a very hard texture on the outside.

Campagne Fromage @ RM20.00

This hard bread stuns me with its price tag. I just wonder how can a huge rock like this can cost so much! But with the price I pay, I am satisfied with something worth in return. The bread is stuffed generously with dried fruits and assorted nuts, which make the bread texture so good with crunchiness! Every bite of the bread is filled with healthy nuts and fruits bits which are naturally sweet, and the bread itself is very soft and fluffy after being warmed in the oven for a few minutes. A very hearty breakfast for the family indeed!

The Loaf Choco Kiki  Smile Jul 31, 2012

Categories : Western variety | Bakery / Cake / Kuih

When passing by The Loaf Bakery shop, I have always smelt nice aroma of pastry and breads from this shop. It is very crowded during evenings. How can I resist The Loaf's famous pastry, the Choco Kiki croissant?

The Loaf ORIGINALS CHOCO Kiki™ @ RM3.60

With the Freshness Concept of 'à la minute' baking, I get to experience it straight from the oven. The croissants come in many flavours: Orange, Strawberry, Mocha, Peppermint and White Chocolate. It is available at all outlets with Great Offer: Buy 5 flavored CHOCHO Kiki and get 1 FREE (Original).

I tried the one with white chocolate, supposedly to be my dessert during the day. The filling is so thick that I can pass it off as breakfast and not dessert. The white chocolate is melting soft, very gooey and goes well with the flaky croissant with layers and layers of thin puffy skin. Surprisingly, the rich chocolate is not too sweet for me, and I would love to try other flavours soon. Lovely!

Dr Mahathir's Bakery: The Loaf Smile Jul 31, 2012

I'm not familiar with Great Eastern Mall but I have been an avid supporter of the best bakery in town, The Loaf. Not only the bread and pastry are great, their coffee is very unique and delicious too!

The Loaf Cube -60°C @ RM11.00

Pastries go best with coffee. The Espresso cubes are frozen to -60°C in a special deep freezer and served in a glass. Then I pour some hot milk into it so that they blend together. As it slowly dissolves in the milk, I taste the richness in this unique brewed coffee. The espresso is not overly bitter but good enough to reveal the sweet aroma with the milk. Very comfortable to have this warm glass of caffeine.

Hearty Soup at The Loaf Smile Jul 31, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Western variety | Bakery / Cake / Kuih

The Loaf at Paradigm Mall is opened for less than 2 months, but it has been the first choice for patrons when it comes to breads and light meal. This outlet has a bakery and cafe layout, which enables people to sit back, relax and enjoy good food and nice atmosphere.

Leek and Potato @ RM5.00

The Loaf is an environmental conscious cafe, where the soup is served in this recyclable paper cup. Although it may not look appealing to the palate, but the chef's selection of daily market-fresh ingredients is capable to produce a distinctive broth of healthy vegetable soup. The broth is very thick, naturally sweet with chunks of potatoes, and nice aroma from the cuts of leeks. Light yet filling, I love it.
