This restaurant has very good dishes which are highly recommended. The seating is limited and I felt at home while dining there with the cosy decor. Even an ordinary dish like fried kailan was worthy of mention. The kailan is fresh with a tinge of bitterness that comes with it. It was stir fried with garlic and the sharp taste of garlic delivered the right flavour to the dish. It was also not oily with just enough oil to keep it moist and crunchy.

This restaurant have food that is just average but has great coffee and tea. And they have a special range of hainanese coffee and tea that is quite good. I like the Hainan Tea which is actually hot tea with milk. There was a distinct tea taste that is just nice neither too thin or too strong. It has a creamy texture from the milk which is a taste I left lingering long after. The tea comes with a thin layer of froth and has a nice aroma too.

I like the restaurant's sofa-like seats with comfy cushions which you can really relax in. Some of their food is worth a mention like their Barbeque Chicken Roll which is quite special. Well grilled chicken bits are rolled in kuey teow rolls and sprinkled with sesame. The chicken bits were well flavoured to give a sweet taste and cooked sufficiently well. The kuey teow rolls which are steamed is soft and silky as oil is drizzled on it. The sesame which is fragrant and crunchy added extra flavour and texture to it too. And the serving is in a dim sum basket which really added to the presentation.

I was drawn to the restaurant name which indicates that they have hainanese cuisine which I like for their strong flavours. I tried their Hainan Premium Coffee which is a good choice. It is served in a smaller cup as this is a stronger brew much like an espresso only the cup isn't as small. The coffee is thick but doesn't have the bitter aftertaste, it was just aromatic and so smooth. And the stronger brew had a lasting perky effect on me for hours.

The spider roll is actually soft shell crab wrapped in seaweed and sushi rice lightly coated with fish roe. Then a slice of avocado for the topping and finished with cheesy mayonnaise mixed with cod roe. Yummylicious. It really tasted as good as it looks. The crab is crunchy and has a distinctive fragrant flavour from the deep frying. The avocado is buttery and really binds well with the mayonnaise which gave it a sweet tangy taste. Really appetizing.
