Nothing to shout about, really. Cry Jul 31, 2012

Just like HLS in HK, this place is a letdown. Came here to for dessert after ramen dinner and there's not much crowd on a weekday. I noticed that the price of the dessert here is cheaper than what they charge at HK though. In HK, most dessert are not as sweet as what I'm used to. You can imagine my frustration when I try their bland cupcake. But that's another story. mad

Ordered Mango Triple (RM9.90) is one of the most worthy choice that they have with mango pudding, a scoop of mango sorbet/ icecream and mango bits. The mango pudding is bland and the sorbet is bland and rough (I've read some of the reviews here before writing this and they say the same thing too). Only the mango bits and some mango puree is sweet and flavorful.

Made a bad mistake by ordering the Swiss Spicy Chicken Wings RM4.9 that tasted like plastic that has been sitting in the fridge for 5 months reeking with chicken stench. Do not order, ever!!

Service is blunt and rushed just like exactly like what you get in HK.

Porky Taste Cry Jul 31, 2012

Categories : Western variety | Restaurant | Burgers / Sandwiches

Ninja Joe created quite a hype with its pork burger and creative branding.

However the patties are quite disappointing. They looked under-grilled, pale and reeking pork stench. The teriyaki and sweet sour sauce are almost non existing because I can hardly taste them. The buns are dry and flaky. I've complained to them and they say its their faulty heating system that they had fixed.

Their onion rings are too brown and oily. I guess its just this branch, the branch at Gardens/ MV serves okay food.

Fondue Time!  Cry Jun 20, 2012

Armed with the RM70 vouchers that I've earned from writing reviews in OpenRice tongue, we stepped into this ice-cream parlor one very hot afternoon. The AC in the place is almost non-existing. I even overheard few customers asking if the AC is broken.
Nothing Special

Nothing Special

The ice cream scoops melted swiftly right after I snapped pics. The strawberry is sourish, the chocolate chips cookie is some store bought brand and the melted chocolate sauce tasted cheap and watery.
Looked nice but tasted otherwise.

I seriously think this set is overpriced and will not order this again. Those small cups of Haagen Dazs that I bought in supermarket tasted better.

Tongue Burning Hot!! Cry May 31, 2012
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood

Spiciest food that I've ever tasted! When we walked into the restaurant, we thought it's a steamboat restaurant but it's actually similar like steamboat except that the soup had been replace with super spicy chili-laden gravy.

There are plates of vegetables and meat that you can buy from the fridge to add into the pot, but we didn't take any. It's so spicy that we can't taste anything because our tongues are quite numb. We can't even finish the rice and chicken, but I agree that the chicken is quite tender. It's quite pricey too, RM27 for a pot of quarter (or less) chicken with slices of carrots.

For those who can eat super spicy food, this place might be okay for them but not for us who considered McD's chili sauce as quite spicy. tongue MSG level is medium high.

I had J.Co donuts before in Bandung and Bali, Indonesia where the donuts originated and I remembered them being super light, crunchy and cool simple glazed donuts that is maintains its delicious crunchiness even after air travel (so good I had to da-pau some back).

The donuts I had in this J.Co branch in Cheras Selatan had these strange waxy after-taste, perhaps from low quality oil they fry them in? It's not as crunchy and tasted day-old. The Mango Blitz tasted better but has an artificial taste to it too.

The drink that I ordered its Chocolate Freeze which tasted very artificial and cheap too, but the price tag is certainly not cheap but you get a free glazed donut with purchase of a drink.
I will give J.Co a try again, but not in here in M'sia tongue
