Ji Wo Bao (鸡窝包)

Ji Wo Bao (鸡窝包)

the outer layer is the Bao skin (steamed dough), inside it contains “Lor Mai Kai” (the glutinous rice with chicken and mushroom), with the “Char Siow” (BBQ pork) and salted egg york. Hot served, the sticky rice was pleasantly soft and chewy. Seasoning of the Lor Mai Gai was so relish with hints of sweetness.

Fluffy and pillowy steam bun with lots of yam filling. .

Siu Mai

Siu Mai

Each of them were made of some minced meat and pieces of prawns with crunchy texture. But it tasted dry and lacked the juicy after-taste. Obviously, it was done on few days back, just re-heated then served to customer.

The skin was way too thick while the filling had the same problem, free from juiciness.
BBQ pork rice roll

The filling was minced thinly till you barely identified. However, I love the smooth and slippery sheets with the just nicely sweet and salty soy sauce underneath.
Thousand year egg & pork congee

Thousand year egg & pork congee

The congee was good, smooth and flavoursome with no added seasoning required.
Fried salad shrimp

cold served, but still retain the crunchy batter coating. Anyway, the shrimp filling was dried out, even Mayonnaise dressing couldn't help any for better savoring.

sadsteamed dim sum was totally out of taste. Do not consider to order any unless you really crave on it!

Salted Egg Yolk Bun/Lau Sa Bao 流沙包

Salted Egg Yolk Bun/Lau Sa Bao 流沙包

Poking a hole, the piping hot golden liquid pouring out nicely. Luckily, I didn't bite into it.

Taste-wise, I thought that it would be perfect if it had a stronger salted egg yolk flavor.
Egg tart

Egg tart

Buttery, crisp and crumbly tart shell. Egg custard was silky smooth as pudding like, but not a rich and creamy type, lacking some eggy flavor.

pineapple buns (polo bao/菠蘿包)

pineapple buns (polo bao/菠蘿包)

Crumby topping, soft pillowy bun, inner with light creamier hue filling. I personally love the custard filling. Not too buttery, faintly sweet due to canned pineapple within.
Turnip cake (lo bak go/萝卜糕)

Turnip cake (lo bak go/萝卜糕)

It is a steamed cake of rice flour and grated Chinese radish (lo-bak), which is then cut into biting cube size, stir fry with scallion, tao ge, egg and other condiment. Without dried shrimp, it savor more into sweet side, which exactly my cup of tea.

Pink passion (600ml, rm11.95)

Pink passion (600ml, rm11.95)

Concoction of passion fruit, strawberry, mango and tropical juice.
Fruit smoothies are very nutritional, containing vitamin C, vitamin E, antioxidants, and a lot of other nutrients as well.

Blended smooth and beautifully. This cold, healthy and refreshing smoothies was sweet and sour enough, but I found the combination tasted a bit quirky. Acceptable, but no much oomph!

Chocolate feast OK Jan 12, 2013

Baked donut, which makes them much healthier than your typical bakery donut which is drenched in oil.
This donut was super chocolatey, soft and tender enough, extra chocolate chips enchance the crunchiness on chewing. My only dislike was it have too strong of buttery smell. It would be more perfect if it fully packed with chocolate aroma.

Chocolate French (rm 3)

Chocolate French (rm 3)

I never been in French before, but by reading the million post of French bread from website, I knew a real French bread supposed have a crisp and crunchy crust, then chewy in centre. However, this bread was tasted quite in different way.
The crust was too hard to break into, even I need to enforce extra strength to peel it apart.
I believe the bread dough was free of butter yet sugar, so that's the reason why it was so rocky like.
The only sweetness all came from chocolate chips that embedded within.
