D'Rich @ Sunway Mentari Smile Nov 06, 2013

Have you been to D'Rich before? Some might have noticed one of their branch in SS2 Petaling Jaya which is one of their largest branch among the four branches in Klang Valley. Anyway, here's some story behind this brilliant food place. D'Rich is a story of a group of food lovers. This group of food lovers and their love for food spurred an out-of-the-box thinking. Partnering with Master Chef Yong, they created food that's good and pleasing to the senses.

D'Rich Rainbow Salad RM9.90
A lot of people thought vegetable is good for health but did you know that one must eat different types and colours of vegetable? Each different color fruit and vegetables contains unique health components that are essential to our health as seen in the color wheel or chart. The D'Rich Rainbow Salad suits the statement and taste good too with only olive oil and other natural ingredients.

D'Rich Pumpkin Soup RM6.90
Enough with the introduction, let's proceed to the first dish we had. The D'Rich Pumpkin Soup as the first appetizer is rich with nutrient and vitamin A. The thickness of the pumpkin soup went very well with the crispiness of the bread. Eat it while it's still hot!

Special Egg in Bread RM5.80
For those who wanted to have eggs for breakfast, the Special Egg in Bread is for you. Filled with two soft boiled egg, it's an ideal meal for those who prefer to have a light breakfast.

Sambal Petai Fried Rice RM10.90
One of the fastest emptied plate for the evening was the Sambal Petai Fried Rice. For those who loves petai, this is a choice that you must order. The goodness of every bite was really satisfying along side with the fried onions.

Char Koay Teow Mee (with salted egg) RM8.90
For those who are craving for this signature Penang food, you can now have it in D'Rich! The Char Koay Teow Mee with salted egg is one of the best I had try in Klang Valley. The spiciness and the fragrance of the char koay teow increase my appetite to finish the whole thing myself.

D'Rich Seafood White Tom Yam RM13.90
Time for the main courses, first in the list is the D'Rich Seafood White Tom Yam. The clear white tom yam is made from a blend of 10 herbs and spices, seafood, vegetables and mee hoon. I quite like the taste of the soup, the prawn and lala but it would be better if it's more spicy.

They decicatedly strive to provide the best value in terms of food quality, excellence service in a comfortable and cozy dining environment and unique experience - that's why they are bold enough to say that they are the King of Good Food! Overall, the food is quite good and I think the place is pretty relaxing.

I am sure most of you who are familiar with Kota Damansara area knows about The Strand by Encorp Berhad. It is situated near to where I stay and I know that there's a lot of cafe and eatery places to be found. One of them is the Cross-Legged cafe which is located at the first floor of Jalan PJU 5/21, The Strand.

Macaroni Cream Chicken (new item)
The Macaroni Cream Chicken is one of the new item at Cross-Legged which is not in the menu. For those who prefer to have a change in their pasta can always try the macaroni instead of the much common spaghetti dishes.

Steamed Egg (new item)
The Steamed Egg is three quarter boil eggs with vege like mushroom and carrots to bring out the taste and fried bread crust on the side. It reminds me of Chawanmushi but without any meat in it.

Vege Quiche and Smoked Salmon Quiche (RM5/each)
The Vege Quiche was pretty good as it has more vegetable flavor while the Smoked Salmon Quiche has a very light smoked salmon taste in it. Both quiche are moist and not too dry but I would probably go for the Vege Quiche.

Lemongrass Chicken Pasta (RM15)
Next up is the Lemongrass Chicken Pasta which are probably my favorite dish of all. Linguine is used for this dish instead of spaghetti to give a different taste of paste and I find it to be a little chewy which is good cause I don't like my pasta to be too soft. The lemongrass and the sauce blend in very well with the chicken meat. Most recommended!

French Toast (RM10)
The French Toast is always a good choice to have for breakfast or tea time. It's topped with sausages and diced tomatoes with syrup and a few drops of lemon for a slight citrusy taste.

Overall, the price on some of the food are quite reasonable especially on the main and appetizer but a little too expensive on the desserts. It's a good place to hang out with friends and for those who prefer to have a light taste on their food. There's still a lot of room for improvement and that's why as a blogger, we play a very important role in giving feedback to the owner and chef.

It was my very first time visiting the Puchong Setia Walk and my very first destination of the day was Chilla Cup. From what I was being told, Chilla Cup is everybody’s feel good experience whereby it will always bring you back to your mum’s kitchen with fresh coffee brewing on the stove and just-made pretzels baking in the oven. They have a pretty wide selections of coffee and smoothies that are accompanied by variety of food. So let's take a look at the food and drinks that are being offered by Chilla Cup.

Fish & Chips RM16.90
Just like the usual fish and chips that we have, this particular one is quite good. The deep fried fish was not too oily and goes very well with the pinch of squeezed lemon and tartar sauce.

Chicken Burger
This Chicken Burger is not those typical chicken burger that we had in McDonald. It uses grilled chicken thigh instead of those mixed chicken meat which is made into patty. Comes with fries and salad on the side.

Dory fish with sour cream spaghetti RM16.90
One of my favorite, the Dory Fish with Sour Cream Spaghetti is tasty and creamy. I just can't stop having this and I will make sure to order this again on my next visit to Chilla Cup.

Caramel Butter Thick Toast RM8.50

Seafood Spaghetti RM14.90
Their Seafood Spaghetti consist of prawns, mussel, fish and squid which is full of flavour and the portion is not bad for a person who is hungry and wanted a filling meal.

It's very cozy and comfortable. I won't mind to spend my day here with to go online with my laptop and have a cup of coffee!

The trend of drinking bubble milk tea or having a bowl of taiwanese dessert are so common among Malaysian these days. This particular store which I am writing about is not excluded from the trend. Buddy Soy Smoothies is a new store which just opened a few months back offers a wide range of drinks and dessert which emphasize on soy bean as the main ingredient. Located strategically next to Chatime at the lower ground floor, the store is not difficult to be found at all as it's not hidden at any corner in the shopping complex.

They use natural and fresh ingredients in every cup.

Sweet Corn Soy (RM4.80) which looks like corn in a cup!

Evergreen Japanese Cucumber (RM5.80) which was pretty refreshing. One of my favorite!

Cucur Udang. I prefer the traditional one which is crispier and more tasty.

Kaya Puff. Not too sweet and the pastries texture was smooth and won't fall apart in every single bite.

Coconut Tart. Something quite filling and I would say this one might be their best seller.

One of the all time favorites, the ABC The Lot RM5.30. For those ABC lover, this one is a must try.

Brotzeit German Beer Bar & Restaurant flagship outlet at Mid Valley will observe this tradition by having its very own official tapping of the first Octoberfest bier barrel. Brotzeit offers both indoor and outdoor dining options, in a chic and contemporary styled restaurant. We boasts the best of Bavarian cuisine, serving up grassroots cuisine from the beautiful south-eastern state of Germany and offering the widest range of premium biers from the Paulaner family of biers.

Salad mit Schafskase/ Feta Salad
This is mixed salad with feta cheese, red bell peppers, semi-dried tomatoes, onions, olives, garlic croutons and sour cream tossed with house dressing. The portion of this salad is easily good for 2-3 pax or even more. The combination of the sour cream and house dressing gives a very appetizing touch onto the salad. For those who doesn't like heavy feta cheese taste, you can still scoop it out from the salad.

Brotzeitflade Speck/ Bacon Pizza
This pizza consist of tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, bacon, onions, vine ripened tomatoes and chili. This is one of the best pizza I've ever tasted. It's tasty, not too cheesy, crispy and spicy thanks to the chili padi.

As for the main dish, we had the Oktoberfest Platter which is not available yet on the menu. This sharing platter for 5-6 friends or family is only available during Oktoberfest. This platter comes with Brotzeit Signature Pork Knuckle, Oven Roasted Chicken, Gipsy Bacon, Lumberjack Steak and Garlic Pork Sausages. It is served with sauerkraut and potato salad. I like the sausage, roasted chicken and bacon but I find that the lumberjack steak was a little dry for my liking and the pork knuckle is quite oily.

Kaiserchmarren/ Emperor's Cake
Last but not least, the Emperor's cake derived from shredded pancake with rum and raisin served with plum sauce.

Sweet & Savoury Duo
This sweet and savoury duo are made with crispy chocolate bacon on white chocolate mousse with lemon pepper marinated strawberries and apricot sauce. Yes real bacon is used to make the crispy chocolate bacon.

Profiterole Duet
Next up is the Profiterole Duet. This is a chocolate profiterole with vanilla ice cream and cinnamon sugar apple fritter on vanila sauce. The vanilla ice cream got my attention. it's soft and not too sweet for my liking.
