I can still recall my very first time stepping into The Apartment Restaurant & Bar and it was at the Suria KLCC for a simple dinner with my dear friends. The warm light that brightens up the whole place gave me a very warm and homey feeling and it was well completed with indeed savoring good food that suits my taste bud. Then not long after that, I realized that they also had one in The Curve which to be joyfully nearer to where I am currently staying.

Tossed Pasta Plain

This pasta dish may look simple but it was actually very flavourful. The Tossed Pasta Plain mixed with a good quantity of chili flakes that will spice up your taste bud until your tongue feel numb but still enjoyable.

Prawn Capellini

This particular dish is one of my favorite that evening, the Prawn Capellini is served with tiger prawns, lemon zest, olive oil and marjoram. I love the tiger prawns cause it's huge and satisfying!

Baked Squid Stuffed with Herbs Rice, Served with Okra & Seafood Gumbo (RM25.90)

Stuffed Squid is heading towards more of our local taste, a bit spicy on the end yet juicy squid being stuff with risotto to make it solid and goes along with the gravy.

Pan Fried Red Snapper w/ Couscous & Lemon Butter (RM39.90)

Pan fried red snapper with couscous and lemon butter reduction is one of the dish that suits most of our local people here as one of the reason I am saying this is most of our locals love to have their meals with rice.

Almond Crusted Cod

The cod was very soft and fresh, with a gentle cut in between it just open instantly. Almond was fried crispy and brings the aroma out of it, cook along with some clams make it sweet and a bit sourish taste of tomato that makes the taste perfectly good!

Surf ‘n’ Turf

Next is the steak which is prepare medium well that comes to my liking and for the first time I see a steak pair with prawns mixture with au jus, garlic, chillies, honey glazed tiger prawns & mash. Surf ‘n’ Turf is one of the latest addition to the menu.

Overall, food was pretty good but I don't think average people who earns average salary could afford this every week. Maybe once a while perhaps? I love the ambience of this place la... a good place to chill out with besties smile

Had KFC Egg Tart in Klang Smile Nov 04, 2013

Categories : Western variety | Restaurant | Burgers / Sandwiches | Halal

It was a pretty random choice to go for a quick bite at KFC restaurant before the wedding reception which I am covering in Klang last Saturday. I still remember the good old days when KFC's slogan was "Finger lickin' good" and "KFC - That's Where I Want To Be" but now, "So Good" doesn't really sound catchy.

We ordered 4 pieces of egg tarts, 2 pieces for each of us.

The packaging of the KFC Egg Tart looks pretty simple and I like the visual idea of showing the 6 pieces of egg tarts on the top of the box.

Om-nom-nom! I forgot to snap a picture of the bitten KFC Egg Tart with my DSLR and so I'd quickly snap it with my phone instead. It's very soft on the inside, the sweetness of it really suits my tastebud and the skin was pretty flaky. Not too oily for me too. I personally prefer this egg tarts over the one in John King's. How much does it cost? Take a look at the price below:-

rices subject to 6% Government tax where applicable. Servings featured are for illustration purposes only. Prices applicable in Klang Valley outlets only. Should any discrepancy occur in published price, the pricing at restaurant point of purchase is deemed final.

I've never visited Setia City Mall before although it has been officially opened for a few months back and there was also I had missed the Michael Learns To Rock (MLRT) concert which was held at the venue. This time round, I was pretty excited visit the shopping mall for the first time thanks to the invited food review at Sushi Tei in Setia City Mall. My very first food encounter of Sushi Tei was at their Tropicana City Mall branch.

Collagen Salmon Roll (RM23.80)
Some of you might asked why is this dish called the Collagen Salmon Roll? Well the answer is, there were really pieces of collagen on top of the salmon roll. As far as I know, Collagen is a protein and the benefits of collagen are many and varied and are good for everyone, regardless of age. So you can enjoy the good food which is good for our health at the same time. Isn't that great?

Cooked Salmon with Soba
I'm sure most of you are familiar with soba which is the Japanese thin noodle made from buckwheat flour and often serve in either cold or hot. I'm not really a big fan of soba but this one was an exception. The cooked salmons on top of the soba was really good too!

Hotate Teriyaki (RM 9.80)
I really enjoy eating the Hotate Teriyaki, which were the grilled clams with teriyaki sauce on it.

Grilled Yellow Tailed Cheek
If you love yellow tailed fish then this could be one of your favorite dish.

Chawanmushi
The omnipresent chawanmushi, a familiar Japanese favourite at all Japanese restaurants. This dish was smooth, not too hot, and very easy to swallow.

Overall, the food was good although slightly pricy but you paid for the food quality and ambiance as well.

Burgertory Food Review Smile May 28, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Western variety | Café | Restaurant | Burgers / Sandwiches

Last month I went over to Burgertory at SS15 for a food review thanks to Foodirector. It's actually not hard to find the place although it's on the first floor, it's located right above Guardian which one row before Maybank.

Shrooming Bull (RM15.50 - ala carte)

Firstly, let's take a look at the beef burger. The Shrooming Bull burger above filled with Cheddar mild cheese, button mushrooms and 100% grass fed beef. As you can see in the image above, it's actually the Burgertory Fry Combo set that comes with fries, onion rings, Mozzarella cheese stick and their refillable soft drink for an additional of RM9.00.

Mascarpone Curry & Cheese (RM15.00 - ala carte)

This Mascarpone Curry and Cheese burger comes with mild Cheddar cheese, fried egg, onion rings, mascarpone curry sauce & 100% premium pork. The curry sauce is not like those normal curry we used to have but it taste more like Japanese curry type that we can order in Japanese restaurant.

Swine Bacon & Cheese (RM16.00 - ala carte)

One of my favorite, the Swine Bacon and Cheese burger. Comes with mild Cheddar cheese, pork bacon & 100% premium pork. The pork is nicely seasoned and it's juicy. You wouldn't order this if you doesn't have the love for bacon and one thing for sure, you won't regret ordering this tasty burger!

Bacon & Cheese Plus+ (RM24.00 - ala carte

Ingredients are same as the Swine Bacon and Cheese burger but you get to have double pork patty and more cheese! If you just came out from a jungle, this will satisfy your pork craving and if you just want a normal dinner... then you better skip this as this might be too filling for some people.

Burgertory Treasure (RM13.00 - ala carte)

One of the highlights that evening, the Burgertory Treasure. Comes with mild Cheddar cheese & crispy pork lard with 100% premium pork... yes you read it right, it's crispy pork lard!!! All I can say is after having this, you probably might want to think of starting your exercise routine again the next day. It's simply delicious but at the same time satisfying.

No doubt they have one of the best pork burger in town. Just that they need to improve on the buns. Love the free soft drinks refill smile

Wok Dish Way @ Kota Damansara OK Nov 08, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Chinese | Café | Noodles

Have you ever tried the Hakka Lei Cha before? Lei Cha (擂茶) is a traditional savory drink for the Hakka people. It is literally a type of "pounded tea" whereby the Hakka tea-based beverage or gruel consisting of a mix of tea leaves and herbs that are ground or pounded together with various roasted nuts, seeds, etc.

One of the place where this Hakka Lei Cha dish can be found is in Wok Dish Way located somewhere nearby Sunway Giza Mall in Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya.

LeiCha Fried Rice RM9.40
The LeiCha Fried Rice is one of their signature dish to be found in the cafe. This fried rice is not often to be seen elsewhere or even in those typical restaurant that offer Hakka Lei Cha. Being a very unique this, the fried rice is cooked with the lei cha paste along with all the other basic Hakka Lei Cha ingredients such as the different type of vegetables, peanuts, fried bean curd and not to forget the Hakka Lei Cha itself that make the fried rice less dry.

The green watery texture of lei cha is filled into the traditional grindstone which is used for grinding the ingredients of Lei Cha.

Sweet & Sour Deep Fried Talapia RM15 - RM35
Common sense that I had is that fishes that are deep fried normally have been frozen for a period of time hence they are no longer fresh. Despite the freshness of the fish, the sweet and sour sauce taste moderately and acceptable.

Crispy Seaweed RM7.90
This was one of my favorite. I think combining the crispy seaweed with the chicken floss was really a good idea. Although the preparation of this dish seems to be simple but the presentation looks quite nice.

LeiCha (White Rice) RM7.90
The LeiCha (White Rice) ready to be eaten by me! lol

Some might like the taste of Hakka Lei Cha and they enjoy eating it because it's healthy but some people just can't accept the taste at all.
