Lammeeya @ Uptown Damansara Smile Nov 08, 2013

It has always pondered me to try out the cuisine at Lammeeya. When I first heard about Lammeeya, obviously most people including me will relate it to 'lam mee' which is a type of thick soup noodle with chicken meat, prawn, eggs, bean sprout etc. Well that's absolutely right because Lammeeya does serve lam mee but other than that Lammeeya is known as one of the authentic Malaysian Chinese cuisine close to everyone's heart.

Duck Egg Char Kueh Teow RM10.80
My very first experience to try the Duck Egg Char Kueh Teow was in Penang thanks to Isaac Tan who brought me to have good food around his hometown. So for those who are craving for a good plate of delicious Duck Egg Char Kueh Teow, have no fear and need not to travel all the way to Penang cause Lammeeya has it. Those who loves to eat spicy food might want to request for extra spicy for the extra 'uhm' in every chopstick-full! lol

Original Lam Mee RM9.80
Since we've touched about lam mee in the beginning of this blog post, so it would be pointless if you did not order their signature dish, the Original Lam Mee. I've tried a few lam mee in my life, some were good and some were below average but this I gladly say above my expectation. All the ingredients which they are using were fresh and what I like most is the thick gravy or the soup which compliment the yellow noodle very well.

Stewed Pork with Potato RM8.80
When it comes to any stewed dishes with potato, I'll wallop every single thing to the last bit. This Stewed Pork with Potato is delightfully satisfying. The potato wasn't too soft that it goes very well with the chunkiness of the stewed pork.

Pork Leg with Vinegar RM13.80
I had never fancy eating Pork Leg with Vinegar due to the sourness in the very dish. Fortunate enough, this Pork Leg with Vinegar in Lammeeya suits my tastebud and as you can see, this particular dish is not for those anti-fat food person but as for me, I'll top up my bowl of rice with this!

Barbecued Rice with Char Siew
What I like most about this Barbecued Rice with Char Siew is that the rice which is cooked in the claypot was not overcooked like the normal claypot rice which I had outside. The downside of this dish is that they should have use a better looking choy sum as garnish.

Overall, I really like the variety of food and drinks provided in Lammeeya. Their dishes really did reminds me of my trip to Penang and also some of the food which I used to had back in my parents place. So it's not too burdening to have a good meal in Lameeya once a week or so. With plenty of variety to choose from, it's a good place to dine and hang out with family and friends.

GeorgPeck is a beverage shop that offers fresh coffee, Ice-blended and tea that is first started in Taiwan and now they are here in Malaysia to serve us! With over 50 franchise in Taiwan just in 3 years time, we are the fastest growing beverage franchise in Taiwan! Overlooking the need of expanding their business in this region, they currently had a their outlets in China, Malaysia and soon in Singapore.

Left: Golden Milk Green Tea RM5.90 (L) Right: Hokkaido Milk Tea RM7.90 (L)
These are their signature bubble milk tea with pearls. Both have a very unique taste and blend that is yet to be found in any other bubble milk tea outlet and of course is better than Chatime!

Caramel Macchiato Ice Blended RM7.90(L)
The Caramel Macchiato Ice Blended is the perfect drink for you if you like whip cream with caramel.
Good for those who have sweet tooth and the younger generations will like to have this!

Chocolate Milk Tea RM5.90
One of my favorite that evening because this Chocolate Milk Tea uses dark chocolate instead of the normal chocolate. I don't think this drink is common everywhere.

Mocha Ice Blended RM7.90
No need to pay such high price for this in Starbucks anymore. Now I can have my Mocha Ice Blended in GeorgPeck.

Georg is the name of the founder and the last word Peck actually comes from the Peck Fish Market of Seattle, America where the founder thinks is a wonderful market place as everyone there works joyfully and full of enthusiasm, therefore the name GeorgPeck was created for this business.

Fusion Haven Cafe & Restaurant (無國界) is located in Bandar Baru Sri Petaling at the same row with Sri Petaling Police Station. For those who are not familiar with that area like myself might not know about this undiscovered gem of fusion cuisine. Not long ago, they has just introduced their new Fusion Haven menu. It is complete with mouthwatering selections of Italian, Japanese, Korean, Jamaican, American, & German cuisines.

Salusciccia Grilled Portobello Mushroom (19.90)
This is the Italian style grilled fresh Portobello mushroom stuffed with homemade pork meat and breadcrumbs. I was a little late that day cause I've been lost on my way there and the Map app on my iPad was inaccurate so I missed the full presentation shot of this dish. There was about 3 large pieces of the grilled fresh Portobello mushroom and I must say that this is a good appetizer for those who likes Portobello mushroom. The combination of pork meat and breadcrumbs stuffed in the mushroom goes very well together with a little moist to it.

American Fusion Style BBQ Pork Spare Ribs (RM39.90)
Next, we had the American Fusion Style BBQ Pork Spare Ribs. This grilled pork spare ribs comes with fruits BBQ sauce with fries. I enjoy dipping the fries into the special sauce, both were equally good but the pork spare ribs were overly cooked that the meat actually broke too easily before putting it into my mouth.

Korean Style Kimchi Sausage Omelette Rice (RM8.90)
This is one of my favorite main dish, theKorean Style Kimchi Sausage Omelette Rice. It's a bowl of rice and teriyaki sauce topped with egg and pork sausages, kimchi, leeks, seaweed, sesame and ebiko. If you are feeling down or not knowing what to eat, I would suggest this dish to cheer you up with its very delightful taste in it. It's not too heavy yet enjoyable although some might preferred to have Chinese sausage in this dish instead.

Hawaiian Turkey Ham & Banana (RM26.90)
Hawaiian pizza with pineapple and chicken is too mainstream. You should try this Hawaiian style turkey ham and banana pizza, topped with mozzarella and cheddar cheese, dressed with special marinara sauce and the best thing is the charcoal crust! I would order this again even just for tea break!

Smoked Duck Pomodoro Alfredo (RM23.90)
This pasta consist of pieces of tender smoked duck meat, cream spaghetti with mushrooms, tomato puree, wine and parmesan cheese. The sauce is a mixture of tomato puree and cream are more watery and has a mild taste in it unlike those normal alfredo which is more thick and creamy.

Overall, Fusion Haven is one of the better fusion cuisine restaurant that I've ever been to. Prices are not so economical but reasonable. The only thing that troubles me is the location, Sri Petaling which is quite far from where I stay unless I am around that area then probably I will drop by for their Korean Style Kimchi Sausage Omelette Rice and Hawaiian Turkey Ham & Banana.

The trend of drinking bubble milk tea or having a bowl of taiwanese dessert are so common among Malaysian these days. This particular store which I am writing about is not excluded from the trend. Buddy Soy Smoothies is a new store which just opened a few months back offers a wide range of drinks and dessert which emphasize on soy bean as the main ingredient. Located strategically next to Chatime at the lower ground floor, the store is not difficult to be found at all as it's not hidden at any corner in the shopping complex.

They use natural and fresh ingredients in every cup.

Sweet Corn Soy (RM4.80) which looks like corn in a cup!

Evergreen Japanese Cucumber (RM5.80) which was pretty refreshing. One of my favorite!

Cucur Udang. I prefer the traditional one which is crispier and more tasty.

Kaya Puff. Not too sweet and the pastries texture was smooth and won't fall apart in every single bite.

Coconut Tart. Something quite filling and I would say this one might be their best seller.

One of the all time favorites, the ABC The Lot RM5.30. For those ABC lover, this one is a must try.

Have you heard about this new taiwanese dessert shop called the Blackball? If you are staying around Subang SS15 or always hang out at Asia Cafe in Subang, I'm sure you won't miss this particular shop. It was back in the year 2006 where Blackball first started and it has bloomed up in a very short time standing as one of the biggest dessert chains in Taipei with over 20 outlets and still expanding. Now, we can all have experience the awesome and original Taiwanese tea and dessert at the first BlackBall outlet in Malaysia which is located in Subang SS15 as I had mention earlier.

Cranberry Crushed Ice with Milk (RM6.50) add Aloe Vera (RM1)

BlackBall Signature with Brown Sugar Jelly and Sweetened Bean (RM6.50)
The owner explained that their 'Xian Cao' is the finest quality 'Xian Cao' imported directly from Guan Xi, producing top notch quality 'Xian Cao' tea and grass jelly, it gives the heavenly taste we will never find in other dessert chains... literally they all tasted the same to me! xD

Red Bean Ice with Barley and Lotus Seed (RM6.50) add Sky Pearl (RM1.00)
The owner claimed that they use only handmade taro balls with natural ingredients, promising every customer that it is the most chewy taro balls have ever tasted.

By combining the various type of Original Taiwanese Tea selections with the dessert, customers can either choose to have a light drink or to have a bowl of icy cold or hot but refreshing dessert in Blackball.

Grass Jelly Ice with brown sugar and sweetened bean (RM6.50)

What I like most about Blackball is their Taroballs and Black Pearl. Price wise, quite competitive and of course they are way better than ZenQ!

What they can improve on is, their crushed ice and also maybe the size of the bowl. When the crushed ice melted, it seems to be almost overflow.

Although the famous Snowflake is just right beside them but their winning point is that the location of this floor is ground floor and most family members and elder people would rather settle down at Blackball instead of taking the stairs up to Snowflake.
