This Shanghainese restaurant is located at the Oasis Boulevard and it may be a little tricky place to find. It's hidden in a narrow corridor tunneling outside the mall opposite of Celcom Blue Cube.

Winter Melon with Chilli Flakes (麻辣白玉果) RM 8.00 for 10 pieces.
We started off with an appetizer, it's called the Winter Melon with Chilli Flakes. At first I thought this dish will be quite spicy with the amount of chili flakes on top of the winter melon pieces but it's actually quite mild and flavorful which went pretty well with the sweet, refreshing and crunchy winter melon. Definitely a good appetizer to order.

Xia Signature Noodles with Braised Meat Ball (豬骨湯獅子頭夏面) RM22.00/bowl
After the appetizer, we get to try their signatures noodles which is called the Xia Signature Noodles with the Braised Meat Ball. The soup based is cooled with pork bones that gives a very sweet taste into the soup from the bones, which I like the most. The noodles is made by themselves and the braised meat ball was quite tasty and juicy. So for those who really like pork bone soup and pork meatball, this is what you must order.

Stewed Noodles wih Minced Pork and Eggplant with "Teo Chew” Sauce (潮醬肉碎茄子燜夏面) RM16.00
This next dish is also noodle, it's the Stewed Noodles wih Minced Pork and Eggplant with Teo Chew Sauce. The broth of the noodle is cooked with tomato sauce and adding with the Chew Zhou chilly sauce. With the minced pork and diced eggplant topped on the noodle, it goes pretty well together.

Crispy Beancurd Skin (虎皮素鵝 ) RM 12.00 for 8 pieces.
This Crispy Beancurd Skin is consisting of needle mushrooms, king oyster mushroom and shiitake mushroom stir fried with rice wine, soy sauce and sugar is being stuffed into the beancurd skin. It comes with soya sauce and ginger as dipping. I like what's inside the beancurd skin but would rather prefer if the skin is crispier.

Deep Fried Spare Ribs with Red Wine Sauce (紅酒骨) RM16.00
I find this dish - the Deep Fried Spare Ribs with Red Wine Sauce, quite unique. The spare ribs has been marinated and it is then being stir fried together with red wine and lime. The smell from the red wine sauce was quite strong that made me curious to try it out. The spare ribs are quite soft and the fat part actually melts in my mouth together with the sweet and sourness from the sauce.

Deep Fried Chicken Cubes with Honey and Ginger (蜜汁姜芽雞) RM26.00
After that, we had this Deep Fried Chicken Cubes with Honey and Ginger. This dish is no stranger to those who like Chinese cuisine. The chicken meat was quite tender with the sweetness from the honey and the slight bitterness from the ginger.

Crispy Bloated Fish : RM 18.00
Dory fish is used for this Crispy Bloated Fish dish. The fish is marinated and then stir fried till it's crispy and topped with dark sauce.

Yin Yong Gai Lan (二菘芥蘭) RM 20.00
Last but not least, it's the Yin Yong Gai Lan. The name Ying Yong means mixture of two different style where first the Gai Lan vege is stir fried with soy sauce and garnished with deep fried sliced onions and then topped with another Gai Lan which is sliced thinly and deep fried. Not a common vege dish that we can easily find in any Chinese restaurant. It's tasty but maybe the price could be a little lower since it's more expensive than other meat dishes.

D'Rich @ Sunway Mentari Smile Nov 06, 2013

Categories : Chinese | Western variety | Restaurant | Noodles

Have you been to D'Rich before? Some might have noticed one of their branch in SS2 Petaling Jaya which is one of their largest branch among the four branches in Klang Valley. Anyway, here's some story behind this brilliant food place. D'Rich is a story of a group of food lovers. This group of food lovers and their love for food spurred an out-of-the-box thinking. Partnering with Master Chef Yong, they created food that's good and pleasing to the senses.

D'Rich Rainbow Salad RM9.90
A lot of people thought vegetable is good for health but did you know that one must eat different types and colours of vegetable? Each different color fruit and vegetables contains unique health components that are essential to our health as seen in the color wheel or chart. The D'Rich Rainbow Salad suits the statement and taste good too with only olive oil and other natural ingredients.

D'Rich Pumpkin Soup RM6.90
Enough with the introduction, let's proceed to the first dish we had. The D'Rich Pumpkin Soup as the first appetizer is rich with nutrient and vitamin A. The thickness of the pumpkin soup went very well with the crispiness of the bread. Eat it while it's still hot!

Special Egg in Bread RM5.80
For those who wanted to have eggs for breakfast, the Special Egg in Bread is for you. Filled with two soft boiled egg, it's an ideal meal for those who prefer to have a light breakfast.

Sambal Petai Fried Rice RM10.90
One of the fastest emptied plate for the evening was the Sambal Petai Fried Rice. For those who loves petai, this is a choice that you must order. The goodness of every bite was really satisfying along side with the fried onions.

Char Koay Teow Mee (with salted egg) RM8.90
For those who are craving for this signature Penang food, you can now have it in D'Rich! The Char Koay Teow Mee with salted egg is one of the best I had try in Klang Valley. The spiciness and the fragrance of the char koay teow increase my appetite to finish the whole thing myself.

D'Rich Seafood White Tom Yam RM13.90
Time for the main courses, first in the list is the D'Rich Seafood White Tom Yam. The clear white tom yam is made from a blend of 10 herbs and spices, seafood, vegetables and mee hoon. I quite like the taste of the soup, the prawn and lala but it would be better if it's more spicy.

They decicatedly strive to provide the best value in terms of food quality, excellence service in a comfortable and cozy dining environment and unique experience - that's why they are bold enough to say that they are the King of Good Food! Overall, the food is quite good and I think the place is pretty relaxing.

Nowadays, I often being invited to Taiwanese dessert and bubble milk tea outlet to do a review for them. Since this franchising business is trending now and so many such outlets are blooming in the market day by day, the drinks, desserts and snacks prices offered are slightly too costly for me to go back to those outlets every single week. So when I was invited to do a review in Cup-Bon, I told myself that it's just another overpriced bubble milk tea outlet which I can easily find nearby my place and this newly opened outlet is located so far away but somehow I was wrong. This latest concept Cup-Bon branch is opened at Low Yat Plaza and they offer a HEALTHY & QUALITY style of Asian's world new tea drinks culture to the customers in Malaysia.

Mango Snow Ice with Jelly (RM3.50).
Thanks to the personal invitation from Ryan, finally there's a bubble milk tea outlet which I can look forward to. During the review, the co-founder of Cup-Bon, Mr Vincent Chin explained to us, "This Halal certified Cup-Bon franchise has been running for 10 strong years and that it initially started off with 16 flavours, Cup-Bon now offers 28 different flavours."

Waffles with Chocolate filling (RM3.50)

Waffles with Peanut Butter filling (RM3.50)

This one is my personal favorite, Pure Green Tea with Green Tea Jelly (RM2.00)

Oreo Mocha (RM7.50)
Mr. Vincent claim this to have the same standard as the ice blended that we can find in Starbucks but I am pretty sure that he might have exaggerated too much about this. The taste was just so so...

Food and drinks concept outlet a good place for customers to hang out especially during a hot and sunny day, a cup of icy cold beverages is what you need. Overall, it's a place which offered a wide range of affordable beverages to the customer and it's halal. That is the bigest selling point to gain more Malay customers to purchase beverages and food from Cup-Bon.

I am sure most of you who are familiar with Kota Damansara area knows about The Strand by Encorp Berhad. It is situated near to where I stay and I know that there's a lot of cafe and eatery places to be found. One of them is the Cross-Legged cafe which is located at the first floor of Jalan PJU 5/21, The Strand.

Macaroni Cream Chicken (new item)
The Macaroni Cream Chicken is one of the new item at Cross-Legged which is not in the menu. For those who prefer to have a change in their pasta can always try the macaroni instead of the much common spaghetti dishes.

Steamed Egg (new item)
The Steamed Egg is three quarter boil eggs with vege like mushroom and carrots to bring out the taste and fried bread crust on the side. It reminds me of Chawanmushi but without any meat in it.

Vege Quiche and Smoked Salmon Quiche (RM5/each)
The Vege Quiche was pretty good as it has more vegetable flavor while the Smoked Salmon Quiche has a very light smoked salmon taste in it. Both quiche are moist and not too dry but I would probably go for the Vege Quiche.

Lemongrass Chicken Pasta (RM15)
Next up is the Lemongrass Chicken Pasta which are probably my favorite dish of all. Linguine is used for this dish instead of spaghetti to give a different taste of paste and I find it to be a little chewy which is good cause I don't like my pasta to be too soft. The lemongrass and the sauce blend in very well with the chicken meat. Most recommended!

French Toast (RM10)
The French Toast is always a good choice to have for breakfast or tea time. It's topped with sausages and diced tomatoes with syrup and a few drops of lemon for a slight citrusy taste.

Overall, the price on some of the food are quite reasonable especially on the main and appetizer but a little too expensive on the desserts. It's a good place to hang out with friends and for those who prefer to have a light taste on their food. There's still a lot of room for improvement and that's why as a blogger, we play a very important role in giving feedback to the owner and chef.

Chilla Cup @ Puchong Setia Walk Smile Nov 06, 2013

Categories : Western variety | Café | Pizza/Pasta | Juices / Bubble Tea / Tea / Yogurt

It was my very first time visiting the Puchong Setia Walk and my very first destination of the day was Chilla Cup. From what I was being told, Chilla Cup is everybody’s feel good experience whereby it will always bring you back to your mum’s kitchen with fresh coffee brewing on the stove and just-made pretzels baking in the oven. They have a pretty wide selections of coffee and smoothies that are accompanied by variety of food. So let's take a look at the food and drinks that are being offered by Chilla Cup.

Fish & Chips RM16.90
Just like the usual fish and chips that we have, this particular one is quite good. The deep fried fish was not too oily and goes very well with the pinch of squeezed lemon and tartar sauce.

Chicken Burger
This Chicken Burger is not those typical chicken burger that we had in McDonald. It uses grilled chicken thigh instead of those mixed chicken meat which is made into patty. Comes with fries and salad on the side.

Dory fish with sour cream spaghetti RM16.90
One of my favorite, the Dory Fish with Sour Cream Spaghetti is tasty and creamy. I just can't stop having this and I will make sure to order this again on my next visit to Chilla Cup.

Caramel Butter Thick Toast RM8.50

Seafood Spaghetti RM14.90
Their Seafood Spaghetti consist of prawns, mussel, fish and squid which is full of flavour and the portion is not bad for a person who is hungry and wanted a filling meal.

It's very cozy and comfortable. I won't mind to spend my day here with to go online with my laptop and have a cup of coffee!
