Both my friend and I were looking for a place for dinner at the Jaya Shopping Centre and it is a newly open place with quite some number of eatery shops. We choose Heritage Village as we have not tried it before (even thouogh they have a few branches around klang valley).

I thought their menu is kind of attractive with plentiful of pictures to refer to, and one need not to worry about choosing the wrong dishes.

I had choosen Nyonya Style Fried rice with chicken, and my friend took their Otak-otak fried rice with chicken.

I like the nyonya style fried rice which comes together with two pai tee (the hokkien/teowchew-crispy bite size cup stuffed with stir-fried jicama with thin-sliced black mushroom seasoned with dried shrimps), one fried egg and one whole leg fried chicken. The fried rice taste so fine and I likes the whole leg fried chicken. I would prefer if the whole leg fried chicken to be marinated a little more spices, to have more flavorful taste.

Nonetheless, I will definitely return to try out more of the remaining choices.

Decent coffee and companion Smile May 15, 2014

Returned to this cafe for the third time for their BBC waffle and coffee!

Haha... my friend discovered this place, and recommended to me.

I would say, their coffee is really good. Not too acidic, but have the strong coffee aroma which makes you would like to order another cuppa!

I had tried their picolo latte and flat white, and not too sure about cold brew. You might want to ask for their recommendation.

There are lack of food selection, though. However, do look for BBC waffle and their VD rolls.. I love them. To those whom are looking for a good cuppa, do try them out.

I would say their coffee is much better than some of the mentioned cafe shop.. as some of them (I would not mention names) are deteriorating...@@

Delicious porridge Smile May 07, 2014

Came across this porridge stall at Soong Kee when both my friend and I were craving for cantonese style porridge.

I have to admit that the porridge served was totally amazing. Ordered the chicken porridge, and mix pork porridge, together with one oyster sauce vegetables.

My friend would always ove to ask for more soy sauce+sesame oil mixture from them. The steam chicken meat was tender and smooth. I did not order chicken breast, though... so it is ahrd for me to comment on the breast meat.

The mix pork porridge was equally good. I likes to have the fired intestine and the small intestine with the mixture of pig stomach. I do not fancy much on the liver, which I still find that this mix pork porridge was awesomely good.

I did not eat beef, hence I could not leave any comment about the beef noodles. According to my friend, the mix beef was great!

curry mee OK May 05, 2014

Saw  this penang road famous teochew chendul shop. I stopped by and have a good look, and curry mee and asam laksa are on the menu board. Well, I can't really get the aroma of the asam laksa but I can easily catch the curry mee scent overpowering the shop.  What's more?  I went to the counter to order a bowl of curry mee (it is vermicelli mixes with noodle) and their original chendul.

The curry mee was jus nice to me with handful of curry flavour and not spicy at all (a bit  disappointed as I wanted a little spiciness). Nevertheless,  the curry mee still better than the chendul which I think I can have better chendul at other places such as at ss22... and the chendul is rather too heavy with coconut milk.  The red beans were disastrous as I taste not fresh and smell like it had been kept in a fridge for more than a week. It does smells like that to me.. because I had kept red bean dessert too long in the fridges that it smells like rotten to me.
It might not my day to get such a bowl of chendul.. but I shouldn't be served to me at the first place because they supposed to have keep a good reputation for quality chendul...
Curry mee is good. ..jus that those served cockles were too small.

Fuel cafe OK Apr 16, 2014
Categories : Western variety | Café | Noodles

I had came across this cafe from a word of mouth by a friend.

I would not know what is Fuel cafe, until she recommended the old beijing noodles. I do not fancy noodles (particularly yellow noodles a.k.a yellow mee), but this Fuel cafe serves you own-made flour noodles which do not have those alkaline taste or smell in your bowl of noodles.

The old beijing noodles comes with thin slices of carrots, cucumber, and a generous scoop of minces meat. The minced meat may be a little too salty for those whom eat lightly with flavors and seasonings. Since the noodles is kind of blanc without the minced meat, you can mix the slices of carrots, cucumber and minced meat well, and not to forget their own-made chillies. The chillies looks so similar to lao gan ma chillies, and it definitely blend well with the noodles.

Not to forget that they served coffee. They have their signature coffee - the Bonsai coffee. This coffee might be light and creamy for coffee-addicts and for non coffee-addicts, this coffee served with milk and whipped cream on the top. My suggestion is that, when you would like to have heavier coffee taste, you can opt to ask the barista about adding in one extra shot.

Personally, I likes the long black coffee.

They served set lunch too, during weekdays. Do inquire from them the set lunch menu, which the set lunch served together with a free drink. If you fancy chicken meat, you may opt to try their sapporo teriyaki chicken rice. Also, not to forget their pork burger and dumplings.

I have been a frequent return customer not only for the old beijing noodles, but also because of the friendly and helpful barrista which you can have a feeling homely dining.
