The location of Sakae Sushi is really strange. It seems you have to exit the actual building (at Plan B) in order to reach it. There are plenty of seats and service is good.

The price of the sushi on the train is considered more reasonable compared to other shops. The train goes all around the shop snaking around the seats (quite amusing). Orders are done through an iPad which is great since the table for 2 is too small to fit 2 menus.

Had a bowl of Chuka Hotate to start things off. IMO, they're a little too hard but tastes great with a hint of spiciness and sesame.

Then we grabbed some sushi cos the food was taking a while and we were hungry. Seaweed was fresh and green. Yum..

Ordered some kinda soft shell crab in spicy soup set that comes with rice, chuka hotate, 3 slices of salmon sashimi, chawanmushi and miso soup. On my receipt it's written as Muzu and costs RM 30.90. The sashimi was unfortunately not fresh and pretty fishy even after we got a replacement. The chawanmushi here is super nice though! It's so soft, smooth and so egg-y.

Liked the spicy soup with tofu but according to him, the soft shell crab was also fishy..

The udon in their Kinoko Udon is a bit too soft. The soup is nicer than at Sushi Tei though! Has exactly two bunches of that mushroom, two bunches of straw mushroom, one of that big fat one at the bottom (omg this is nice but pretty tasteless) and 3 slices of fishcake.

Overall, food's alright but I probably wouldn't order seafood here. You should try the chawanmushi! I wouldn't mind going back for some udon lol

Kimchijigae Smile Aug 17, 2012

One of my favourite stalls in Asia Cafe is the Korean one. Most of the time when I eat here, I will order their Kimchijigae which is soup with rice. At RM 10, I find it affordable for the portion. The kimchi soup is a blast of flavour and can be quite spicy. Inside you will find lots of meat, tofu and kimchi. Sometimes I find mushroom inside but I think the content varies. They've also upgraded to a much bigger bowl which I couldn't finish. The hot, spicy and sour soup is a real appetite opener.

Dragonfly Smile Aug 15, 2012   (Related Review)

If you pass by this place at night, you will probably see it full of people, mostly working adults having a drink after work. There are seats inside where it's darker (with TV) or you can opt to sit outside. It's a more relaxing place to hang out and chit chat compared to the two other nearby alcoholic places. This glass of Dragonfly cocktail seemed smaller than the others and it didn't pack as much of a punch. The top darker layer is a mild red wine that's sweet and thick, leaving a slightly bitter after taste on your tongue. I thought the green layer beneath it tasted of green tea but I'm not exactly sure what it is. Costs about RM 20+. When combined, the wine sorta overpowered the green layer.

Tea & coffee Smile Aug 15, 2012   (Related Review)

Such lovely shop design! Immediately fell in love with the decorations, the colour and the ambiance it gave.

What is tea time without a pot of tea? With four types of tea and five coffees to choose from, I chose the French Earl Grey. Interesting how they placed the selection like this instead of a menu. We could sniff each of the tea bags before ordering them.

The tea leaves gave the cup a very fragrant tea taste. It was light and refreshing. It was quite bitter so I was glad they provided a jar of sugar cubes.

Rojak Smile Aug 15, 2012   (Related Review)

The good thing about a rojak and cendol stall? You get to buy lunch AND dessert at the same location ^_^ This one here contains all the ingredients a rojak should have like egg, cucumber shreds, bean curd etc. The fried dough thing is my favourite as it's so soft and chewy. 'Keropok' is fresh and crispy (without being oily) while the coconut pieces are heavy with coconut aroma. All of the ingredients are quite bland on their own so that's where the sauce comes in. The sauce is averagely spicy, with a sweet nutty taste.
