Roti telur. We went to Kayu after a movie for late night supper. Maybe they were going to close the indoor seating, they switch off the lights after 12pm, which I think it was a bit rude since we were still there. The roti telur served does not look good, indeed, it was so dry and hard, although it was just freshly made. The roti was thick and not fluffy at all. We had to mix with the chicken curry to soften it up.

Nasi Lemak sotong and ayam. The nasilemak was served with peanuts, anchovies, hard boiled egg and cucumber. The sambalsotong was served cold as it was prepared earlier and left in the counter. The chicken was being deep fried upon order. Half way eating the sambalsotong, we noticed a dead fly on top and requested the waiter to change a new one, the waiter apologized to us. The fried chicken was marinated well and slightly salty.

Fried fuchuk. When this dish was served, I look at it and it doesn’t look like the typical fuchuk. It has a coating on top which I could not determine what it was made off. The skin was not crispy at all, it was like being fried in a frozen manner. The inner fillings had fake crab stick and fish paste. The fish paste was soft and quite fishy taste. I do not like this side dish.

Chicken Noodle Soup. This was the Chinese version of "Kai Si Hor Fun". It came with shredded chicken slices, fish paste slices, bean sprouts and spring onions. Once the noodle was served, it exerted a strong smell, maybe chicken stock smell, that I find it unappetizing. The soup was salty and diluted. The chicken slices were rough. I don't enjoy this dish at all.

Mediterranean Chicken. My dining partner felt adventurous that day and ordered the Mediterranean Chicken. Once it was served, there was some pungent smell exerted from the dish, I thought the chicken was spoilt. But, we think of the positive side, maybe due to the marination such as dried apricot and prunes that gave such smell. I could not brace myself to eat this dish, very weird and funny taste.
