Set Dinner @ Black Canyon OK Aug 09, 2012

The 1st time i discovered Black Canyon Coffee is when i went to AEON Seberang Perai City Shopping Centre. That was a few year back until last month when i just moved to USJ and saw another outlet in Summit USJ. I remembered from my 1st dining is Penang, what i love the most about this shop is the coffee and their fluffy and soft rice.

So i decided to dine there last week for dinner with Becks. The restaurant is located on the ground flour of summit. I did some research before i dine in that day. This restaurant is a famous chain restauren in Thailand. It has already expanded their business to 6 other countries including Malaysia.

When i walked in the restaurant it has a mixture of Thai decoration but with a modern feeling. They have comfortable chairs and the colour of the restaurant is mostly ward brown that gives you the warm and relaxing feeling.

We decided to order the set dinner for 2 that includes Chicken Tom Yam, Spicy stir fry chicken & hot basil, Stir fry mixed vegetable with oyster sauce & 2 white rice. The tom yam is spicy and sour at the same time, they serve it with quite a lot of chicken. The vegetable is just normal stir fry. i love the stir fly chicken with hot basil, is has a strong aroma of the basil leaves at the same time its spicy and tangy! Not to forget, I just love their rice, really soft and warm, its like those serve in Japanese food, the texture is almost the same. Yums!

We ordered 2 drinks that is Black coffee champ iced coffee( black coffee) & Cha Thai Yen (Thai iced tea with milk. The black coffee is just nice, not too think and not too sweet. reminds me of the old day where my grandma is still around and the aroma of black coffee around the house. But the tea is a disappointment. There is no tea smell at all, its like too diluted only can taste the milk. i had to ask them to change twice only they get it right. i think that is why the restaurant name has coffee in it, cause they are specialize in making good coffee.

I would come and try out more! coffee and not tea=)

I always have my dinner in Taipan, although there are not much choices but it's just so near to my house.

One day after dinner i decided to try out the bubble milk tea shop called Yofresh in Taipan. I've pass by this shop a few times, but have never try out the drinks there. Being a dessert lover, why not just give this a try.

Nothing spectacular about the facade of this shop, it just looks like any other bubble milk tea shop.

Simple settings of the shop.
I've realise they too sell ice blended something similar with the famous snowflake. They too have soya ice flavour. They do not have much choices to choose from compared to snowflake.

I only eat soya ice series in snowflake and i adore it, so i wana try one Yofresh's soya ice too.
I ordered set A that comes with Handmade Taro and sweet potato balls, green bean, grass jelly and pearls.

The portion is big but the taste wise i still love snowflakes. The taro and sweet potato balls and chewy and nice. But the pearls are a bit hard. they dun have the bouncy feeling when u bite into them. The soya is just okay, i felt snowflake's have more soya aroma in it. overall just okay.

my friend ordered Refreshing fruit tea it has a combination of sweet and sour of the passion fruit. She asked for less sweet that comes out just nice. You can feel the aroma of the passion fruit, its really cooling and refreshing.

For customer who went and liked on their facebook page will get 10% discount from the total price. Just show the page in your mobile=)

Becks drop by after class to grab some lunch. Since I'm working in SS15, i don't really wana go so far for lunch, so we headed to Sunway Mentari for some yummy Japanese food.

Nihonkai is located in Dataran Mentari, near the place where all the famous steamboat are located. I've been here once for dinner, now is my second time here for lunch.

I reach there around one and to my surprise it is quite packed. A lot of office workers went there to have lunch too.

The set lunch and set dinner is almost the same, set dinner have an extra chawanmushi extra charge of rm4. There is a variety of choices for set dishes and affordable too.

This is the interior of the restaurant, simple arrangements of wine bottles at the shelf.

Becks ordered this, Torikatsunabe and Shashimi. RM21.
Close up: Torikatsunabe, a bit too sweet for me and the chicken is not very well season.

Comes with shashimi. Very think and fresh! So worth it.

I ordered this, Grilled salmon with teriyaki sauce set. RM19. What i love about this is the portion of the samon is very big, not 1 but 2 pieces of grilled salmon.

All sets comes with rice, pickles, soup and fruits!

When ever I go to a Japanese restaurent, i would surely try their Macha Red Bean. RM6
This macha ice cream is frozen, i think not much people ordered it and it's not fresh.

All i can say it is a very affordable place to go for Japanese food.

I'm working in SS15 Subang, its always a fuss of what to eat during lunch because there is simply too many choices....LOL

But there is one stop i always go with my friend for the best chicken rice, that's Kar Heong in SS14. Its always packed during lunch time and we have to share tables with other people. The shop is located at the shop houses along shell station, there is only 2 -3 max tables for smokers, others will be indoor with aircon.

My friend and me, always the 2 of us will order quarter chicken, siew yuk, Taugeh (beans sprouts) and 2 chinese ice tea.... It seems it will be never enough of the chicken. Sometimes if we do not order siew yuk, we will order half a chicken. lol

This is what we ordered a few days back.

A close up of the quarter chicken. We always ordered the steam chicken, i've ordered the roasted chicken once, the chicken is a bit hard and dry, i still love the steam ones. The soy sauce is not too salty, just right to eat with the fragrant chicken rice. when u ordered chicken rice, they will always give you complimentary soup.

Siew yuk is a must when eating chicken rice. Although eating siew yuk is always expensive and only come just a few pieces. But it is so irresistible! We always try to order sau yuk ( skinny meat) a bit of a health conscious, but don't really help the weight also lah....hahahah

Last, Taugeh, one big plate for only rm2, why not right? The taugeh here is different, Big, fat and crunchy. Suppose to be from Ipoh. Thumbs up!

I've triend the chicken rice in Ipoh, suppose to be famous one, but not as nice as this loh! this is a must try and must come back!mad

Last week, after a tiring day of shopping, birthday celebration becks and me almost forgot to eat our dinner. We were driving around Kuchai Lama and we decided to try out Taipei Walker. Its already around 9.45pm so i consider this my supper=) lol

Its already quite late but i could still see a lot of people in the restaurant. We quickly sat down and ordered what we wanted.
Beck's ordered a set meal that comes with Crispy chicken comes with a soup, tofu & vege.

( this set does not come with drinks.

Here is another close up picture of the set meal. The chicken is just normal, i still like the ones selling in the pasar malam, much more fresh and bigger piece. This one is a bit dried. The soup is herbal soup, tasty, but contains quite a lot of mono sodium glutamate cause we were both very thirsty after eating.

I ordered beef noodle soup.

Nice and tender beef, the soup has a thick beef flavor, compliments with the green vege and soft turnip. It has been quite a while i had this kind of Beef noodle. smile

Last we ordered

Fried sweet potato. Something similar with the one selling in Shihlin. I love the sweet potato that is fried to perfection compliments with the sweet n salty powdered. The outer layer of flour is fried till crispy and inside is still tender. I very great snack!

Overall the food is okay, love the potato the most!
