Reject burger Cry Jul 02, 2012   (Related Review)

I heard good things about the food at The Bee, but apparently somebody lied. The beef burger was bad. The patty was at least 20% chewy tendon, though otherwise relatively okay (by "okay" I mean it tastes comparable to a McDonald's Quarter Pounder, which is a pretty low standard for "okay"). Fries were plentiful, but so what, really?

There really was nothing above average about the burger, and even if there was, I'm not sure it could make up for the terrible patty with reject parts inside.

Flour and salt Cry Jul 02, 2012

I hate to sound harsh (no, really, I do), but Face 2 Face's pan mee is completely inedible. It's one of those few times in my life where I actually paid for a meal, didn't finish it, and left still hungry.

The noodles tasted like plain flour, with a texture of actual flour, and extremely salty. I really don't understand how people eat here. Furthermore service is terrible. I asked for the condiments and was refused. They said I had to wait, because it needs to be shared. Well, what's the point if I can't have condiments when my food just arrived? If it's not enough, they should buy more. Their competitor down the road doesn't have this problem at all.

Worst. Noodles. Ever.

Ruined rump Cry Jul 02, 2012

I understand that rump meat is generally chewy and offers more resistance, and it is a very lean cut that is relatively inexpensive; but Las Vacas really ruins it.

It is not my first time having rump, so I know what to expect. Las Vacas' steak is extremely tough and chewy. I never ask for steak well done, but this tasted well done. I should've returned it... but I didn't.

That was my first steak there, and I've never eaten there since.

After hearing so much about La Bodega's "yummy" big breakfast, I must say I was terribly disappointed with it when I had finally gotten around to trying it.

Eggs were poached too long and were too firm and yolk not runny enough. The sausages were unexciting and a little dry. The bacon was beef bacon (which is not really bacon at all) and was dry and tough.

A complete waste of money.

Urgh salmon  Cry Jul 02, 2012

Quite honestly the worst smoked salmon ever. Gooey, chewy, and fishy, I don't understand how the smoked salmon ended up on a table. Incidentally, one of the first times I tried smoked salmon many years ago was also at La Bodega (a different branch) and that's what gave me a bad impression and made me not like smoked salmon.

The eggs were decently poached, though, but not wonderful - could be fluffier.
