The Menu

As outside is raining very heavily, we are kind of been stuck in the mall. After walking past all the restaurants in the shopping mall, we decide to stop here for dinner as Father feels the menu here looks the most attractive. We are showed to a booth seat table, which is quite comfortable and big.

Fresh Fruit Tea (Hot)
Orange, Green Apple, Lemon, Red Tea (RM12.90)
Serving is huge. Taste fruity and sweet, with lots of fruits in it. Feel healthy after drinking it.

Mini Coffin-Toast (RM8.90)
Apple Curry Chicken, Mix Bean Chicken
Wait for awhile for this dish as it seems that the kitchen has forgetten about it. The apple curry chicken combination is a quite unique one and tastes like Japanese curry with cunchy apple.

Taiwanese Braised Pork Burger (RM3.90)
The pork is well braised and very tender, with a melt in the mouth texture.

Mini Wok Seafood Set in Chicken Soup (RM15.90), served with rice
The serving is huge with vegetables overflowing. Well flavoured soup.

Sesame Oil Chicken Rice Set (RM18.90)
The chicken smells great and is very tender and flavourful. The set comes with mochi, pickled vegetables and soup. The soup tastes rather bland when compared to the mini wok seafood.

Crispy Soy Fish Rice Set (RM15.90)
Similar to the sesame chicken set, it is served with mochi, pickled vegetables and soup. The crispy soy is very nice and goes very well with the fresh sliced fish.

We have the plain rice change to minced meat topped rice. The minced meat is very flavourful. Just having it with plain rice is very good.

Bonsai Ice Cream (RM3.90)
Vanilla Ice Cream, topped with crushed oreo cookies
A simple ice cream dessert but very well presented.

Snowy Ice - Assorted (RM8.90)
There is a lot of cut fruits such as strawberry, kiwi, and mango, and we could barely finish it.

Overall the food is very tasty and reasonable priced. Service is quite fast despite the place is quite packed.

The restaurant was located in the shopping mall, just across from the checkpoint. The service was great. The staff made sure the table and asked one of us to check the table first before letting the rest of the group in.

Please take note that iced water was chargeable at RM0.90++ per glass. The staffs were friendly and easy to our various requests. We were served with smoky hot wet tissues after our meal.

CHICKEN CAESAR FLATBREAD (RM27.45)
Grilled chopped chicken breast, Italian cheeses, tomato pesto salad, fresh sweet basil and creamy Caesar dressing tossed on a crisp flatbread crust and sprinkled with shaved Asiago cheese.
The flatbread was served on a chopping board, very thin and crispy, overflowing with juicy tomato and chicken cubes.

ROMA'S SAMPLER (RM42.29)
A trio of appetizers – Red Hot Buffalo Wings, Potato Skins and its signature Half Onion Loaf matched with bleu cheese dressing, sour cream and TR's Original™ BBQ sauce.
The bufflao wings were lightly breaded and tossed in Buffalo sauce, served with creamy bleu cheese dressing. The wing was sour and spicy, which balanced with the rich cheesy sauce.
The onion loaf was giant hand-cut Spanish onions, breaded, deep fried and served with TR's Original™ BBQ sauce. It was crispy and caramelised inside.
Crispy potato skins covered with cheese, topped with chives and beef bacon pieces, served with sour cream. I wished there was more cheese on the potato skins.

BEEF RIB SAMPLER (RM74.09)
Slow-cooked meaty, tender and delicious ribs. Hearty ribs with a rich beef flavor. Glazed with TR's Original™ BBQ sauce
The dish was served with 2 sides which we selected coleslaw (I wished it was more sweet although it was crunchy), and loaded mashed potatoes (I felt it was not as cheesy as the version in Singapore). The ribs served were beef instead of the usual pork. The ribs was quite tender and easy to remove from the bones, but I still preferred the pork ribs better.

POTATO SKINS (RM16.85)
Crispy potato skins covered with cheese, topped with chives and beef bacon pieces. Served with sour cream.

BOUNTIFUL BEEF RIBS (RM63.49)
Hearty ribs with a rich beef flavor. Glazed with TR's Original™ BBQ sauce or your choice of sauce.
Served with 2 sides which CORN ON THE COB was selected.

Raspberry Brownie Royale (RM10.49)
Two warm, rich mini cocoa brownies, covered with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzled with raspberry sauce.

The restaurant was part of a popular chain with various outlets in Malaysia. It was well known for its chinese dishes. It was located at one end of the ground floor of the shopping mall. Although the restaurant did not offer free wifi, one was enable to tap on the free wifi by the shopping mall. The restaurant was packed during Saturday lunch time but did not offer dim sum menu.
We started the meal with Jasmine Pearl Tea & chrysanthemum tea (RM12/ pot serving 2-3 pax) a pot each as we had 6 people. The young staff who served the tea was quite blur and did not know which tea was which. We had to figure out ourselves then.

Stir-fried Baby Pork Ribs Glazed with Zhenjiang Black Vinegar 镇江烤肋骨 (RM32)
The serving was just nice for a piece for each one. Felt it was a quite expensive for such a small serving. The boneless pork ribs was quite tender and flavourful.

The tofu was not bad although would prefer it to be more smooth.

Deep-fried Crispy Aroma Duck 香酥脆皮鸭 (RM 42/ half)
Served with pancake, spring onions, cucumber and sweet sauce.
The skin of the duck was thick and crispy which kind of reminds of roasted pork. Interesting.

Barley Beancurd Skin with Gingko and Quails' Egg Soup 清润海底椰炖马蹄露 (RM 8)
Felt that it was a bowl of soya bean milk topped with barley, beancurd, ginko and boiled egg. Not the usual method of cooking the beancurd skin till it melted.

Double-boiled Pear with White Fungus and Red Dates 红枣雪耳炖雪梨 (RM 12)
The pear was quite soft but the white fungus still had not reached the melt in the mouth texture.
Overall the food was not bad, although the staffs were not quite good with explanation especially on the part where why the tea had 2 pax on the bill.

Located at Level 1 of the atas shopping mall, is this chinese restaurant. It is part of a well known chain of chinese restaurants in KL. The restaurant is decorated in modern traditional style with red and black in color. The restaurant is known for its signature Peking duck. So what is a meal here without its signature dish.

As we are not a big group, I decide to have the Peking Duck Two Course 烤鸭二食 (RM98) which uses half serving of Peking Duck to serve 2 dishes.

First Course 一食
A chef thinly sliced the duck by the table. The first part is when we get to taste the thin and crispy skin. The skin is very crispy with barely any fat on it. The second part is where we get handon to wrap the duck meat with cucumber, green onion, honey melon, homemade BBQ sauce on pancake. It is quite an appetizing dish.

Second Course 二食
Stir-fried Minced Duck Meat with Pinenut and Conpoy Served with Lettuce 炒鸭松拌生菜
The dish is well cooked without any gamey taste.

As each pot of tea served 2-3 persons and we have 5 persons, we are expected to order at least 2 pots of tea.

Lychee Black Tea 荔枝红茶 (RM12)
This coppery blend of Chinese black tea and lychee is a very enjoyable sipping tea. The sweetness of the lychee covers the slightly bitter taste of the tea but doesnt conceal its delicious fragrance.
This simple looking tea has a hint of the natural sweetness from the lychee fruit.

Chrysanthemum Flower 杭菊皇 (RM12)
The flowers have a light liquor color with a fresh flower aroma. They act as a natural coolant which increases immunity and helps to postpone the aging process.
It tastes light and refreshing.

Deep-fried Beancurd with Salt & Pepper 椒盐豆腐 (RM8)
The beancurd has a thin crispy skin while soft and smooth inside. Great one.

Sautéed Kai-lan with Mushrooms and Black Fungus 双菇木耳炒芥兰 (RM25)
Cooked in vegetarian style the black fungus has a crunchy texture.

Sautéed Egg White with Crab Meat and Dried Scallops 芙蓉赛螃蟹 (RM22)
Most restaurants which serves this dish, usually will advise customers to mix in vinegar as soon as possible. However it is not the case here. One could not taste any crab meat or scallop in this dish. Guess must be mostly egg white. Feel that the texture of the egg white could be finer.

Deep-fried Vegetarian Beancurd Skin Roll 脆皮素鹅 (RM12)
It is light and crispy.

Double boiled Snow Pear with White Fungus and Red Dates 南北杏桂圆雪耳炖雪梨 (RM18)
The pear is very soft and refreshing in taste, as well as, not too sweet.

Water chestnut cream with sea coconut 清润海底椰炖马蹄露 (RM8)
The version here is not bad, being not too thick and sweet.

Barley Beancurd skin with ginkgo and quail egg soup 白果腐竹薏米鹌鹑蛋糖水 (RM8)
It looks like a bowl of hot soya bean milk, but tastes great.

Steamed Piggy Bun 宝贝猪仔包 (RM9)
The steamed pau comes in 2 versions : the green colored pigglet is stuffed with lotus paste, while the pink colored pigglet is stuffet with red bean paste. The paus are cute in design. They tastes soft and fluffy.

Deep Fried Durian Pancakes (RM10)
I am a bit disappointed in this dessert as the durian is a bit pale in taste and the batter coating has off taste. Expect better grade one especially in a well known restaurant.

Overall the food is great. Service is great except during the peak hours we have a bit of problem getting the staff to refill tea.

Seafood Lunch Smile Jan 27, 2015

This seafood restaurant is quite popular with the family. I have been here before at night where there is valet parking service. But in the day, there is no such service. Even the main dining hall is not lighted up when we reach the restaurant. In fact besides our group, there is only another group of customers in the restaurant.

We have

Stir-Fried Spinach,

Crispy Calamari in Honey Sauce,

Baked Oysters in Cheese,
Chilli Crabs (2 pieces of crabs),

Curry Crabs (2 pieces of crabs),

Sweet & Sour Pork,

Tofu with Minced Meat Sauce,
and

Braised Tofu.

Overall the servings are huge and delicious except for the sweet & sour pork. The sweet & sour pork tastes a bit tough to bite. The prices are not cheap, the meal costs over RM500. But the service is great. Tea is refilled regularly.

The staff brings us boards, mallets and claw crackers to crack the huge sized crabs. But in the end the staff decides to do it himself at the next table.
