Having been to KSL multiple times, I did not realise Choco Choco exist until my pal told me about it.

Choco Choco is located in the open space area and it is rather easy to find them. The furnishing is simple with the usual tables and chairs under the shopping mall lighting.

I was kind of excited looking through the beverages menu as that was my first time ever to order beverages with 3D arts or graphics.

For those who are looking for bites, you can try out their All Day Brunch or Sandwiches, Pasta but these orders does not come together with the arts.

We did not specify any special request and the art drawn was all random and the creativity by the staff. Though our orders were served one at a time, I find that its already quite fast in speed.

Look! They have drawn me Crayon Shin Chan on my cup of chocolate.

On the other hand, I find that the Iced Cappuccino is more interesting as it consist of 4 different faces from a cat illustrating joy, anger, worry and happiness.

The black forest cake was ordinary and on the plate it was accompanied by the skillfully drawn Sanrio Character, Keropi Frog. Its outline was thinly drawn with chocolate syrup.

Here's our combination of orders. With so much cute stuff on the table, we could not help ourselves in taking more pictures before we got these artwork eaten up and destroying them.

http://www.umakemehungry.com/2017/12/sunroast.html

As we are on our road trip towards Port Dickson, we stopped by over at Yong Peng Sunroast to fix our stomach. Sunroast has one of the famous roasted delights and has handful of popular reviews. Sunroast looks like a family-run business with their children helping out.

Interior Sunroast While waiting for our order, we ordered Passion Fruit Drink and Honey Lemon drink.

Passion Fruit Drink - RM 3.50 & Honey Lemon - RM 3.50

Passion Fruit Drink - RM 3.50 & Honey Lemon - RM 3.50

Sunroast is specialized in roasted delicacies adopting the use of charcoal method. I do not really fancy roasted pork meat but it was perfectly done without too much fatty meat. The layer of meat and fat were distinct. As for the Char Siew, it was an addiction to me, I cant resist having more pieces of it. It was lean and chewy.

Meat for 3 Pax (Char Siew & Roasted Meat)

Meat for 3 Pax (Char Siew & Roasted Meat)

Roasted Duck meat was delicious and supported by braised peanuts in its bottom. Glistering skin was crispy and meat was packed full of juiciness. I love the fact that the roasted duck meat was not overly salty and greasy.

One of their specialties will be Hakka 4 kinds of Yong Tou Foo. Freshly made and tasty to go with noodles and rice.

Hakka Yong Tau Foo - RM 5.00 Their noodles had caught my surprise. It was springy and fragrant in its black sauce. Thickness of noodle was broader than our "Mee Kia".

Noodle (Small) - RM 2.00

Noodle (Small) - RM 2.00

There are two types of rice, the plain one and the one with fragrant. We ordered both to pair with the roasted meat. Rice was on the soft side though.

Rice - RM 1.20 (Big)

Rice - RM 1.20 (Big)

Parking is make easy on the grass patch and stones gravel. Overall, if you are passing by Yong Peng, I find that its a worthy stop over for Roasted food.

http://www.umakemehungry.com/2017/11/restoran-todak-orang-asli.html
Todak is one of the many seafood restaurants that most Singaporeans will visit in JB.We were there on a Sunday night and it was no surprise that the place is fully packed with people and we have to stand there and wait for quite sometime before getting a table even though we were not in big groups. As the crowd was kind of beyond control, it will be best that customers secure seating on their own. However, one thing that you have to be very sure is that, waiting time for food is still within the acceptable limit.

As Todak is located just opposite Singapore divining by the sea, one good advantage is that some of us are actually able to received Singapore's Telecom reception.

Todak These golden fried buns were big and definite good to dip into the chilli sauce of the crab. They were not too greasy and the outer layer of it is crispy.

Buns - RM 10 Lala was pretty interesting as it was stirred fried and came in some curry, sweet chilli taste. It was fragrant and addictive, thus the plate was quickly done up shortly after it was served. Calms were fresh and chewy and the gravy is a perfect pairing to the bowl of white rices.

Lala (Small) - RM 12
Ingredients of Fu Rong Egg is generous and it was fried to crisp.

Fu Rong Egg (Small) - RM 6 Grouper was charged at RM 10 for per 100g. There are variable ways to have the fish to be served and we had decided to have it cooked in Teochew Style. Not to mention that the fish was truly fresh as we were given the choice to choose the desire fish out of the big container of live fishes. It was well prepared without any stinky seafood smell however, do not expect that the scale is 100% removed. The broth was light and refreshing, not overly salty as those preserved vegetables were placed sparingly. Other ingredients includes sour plum, slices mushrooms, chilli as well as tofu cubes. The presentation of the dish was also lifted up in colors by the greens.

Grouper - RM 70 Last but not least, we had the crustaceans. Rate is going at RM 7 per 100g. Likewise, the style that you want it to be done varies and we had the most mainstream way of serving which frying in chilli. Gravy was not too spicy and good to pair with the golden fried buns.

Let's work on our fingers and remember to borrow their heavy crab cracking tool if you need.

Crab - RM 56 We got the seating in the middle of the place and it was quite disturbing to us as there were a lot of movements on the planks resulting in vibrating during dining. If you have a choice, try to find a seat that is not that centralized. As for parking wise, there is no need to worry. Parking space is ample and there are even carpark ushers who will aid you in parking your car.

Heard about coconut ice cream? For those who have been to Thailand, having Ice Creams in a coconut bowl is perhaps nothing new to you. With such desserts getting popular nowadays, the cafe in Johor Bahru did not forget about this trendy dessert from its neighbouring country.

As soon as we entered into the Cafe, the friendly staff greeted us. There is a leading staircase up to the second level, unfortunately they are still working on the dining space upstairs and I guess the place will soon be packed with patrons both lower and upper levels.

Interior was industrial theme and spacious with ample of seating. There is a corner with bar table that was classified as reserved.

Coconut has quite a number of benefits, do you know them all?

With 2 scoops of original Coconut flavour ice cream and 1 scoop of Thai Milk Tea Ice Cream served in the coconut reminds me of the time when we visited Bangkok's Chatuchak. Toppings over here are generous in the sense that you are allow to add your on toppings at the side of the counter. We added peanuts and crunch in this case. Making a complete set with additional RM 1.00, we were offered a cup of coconut water.
Love it!

Categories : Western variety | Café | Sweets/Snack | Special Occasion Dining

With new Cafes popping out once in a while in Singapore, it may seem a norm but I was rather surprise to see the increase number of cafes in Johor Bahru during my recent visit there.
Chaiwalla & Co Container Cafe

Chaiwalla & Co Container Cafe

Chaiwalla & Co. is an open air cafe which you cannot find in Singapore with tables and chairs sitting on the open ground sand and cement. Having its unique part with her working space operated out of a container. If you heard of the famous Hiap Joo Bakery that sells traditional baked Banana Cake, Chaiwalla & Co Container Cafe is just around the corner.

Enjoy a cup of beverage, either coffee or tea from Chaiwalla. Pies can be grabbed from here too if you decide to have some food to go along with your beverage. We ordered a cup of Thai Milk Tea at RM 9.30 and enjoy this refreshing drink under the hot weather which fits our plan in beating the heat. However if you are keen in toppings like pearls or jelly, they are available at additional cost.
