root beer OK May 31, 2013

This fast food outlet is getting rarer over the years as many old watering spots have closed down. Although you can still find their famous root beer in sundry shops and shopping malls, I still prefer their root beer from the tap rather than the canned stuff. The root beer from the tap has less gas and much sweeter than what you get canned drinks. Sometimes I would order mine with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream or two to enhance the root beer taste.

cheesecake OK May 31, 2013   (Related Review)

Apart from great coffee, I usually order the Boston cheesecake sold here to go along with a great cup of latte. According to espressolab, the cheesecake is house-made and not sourced from outside. The cheesecake is quite rich and it leaves a tangy aftertaste on the palate. Do try out their iced mocha too as it has a rich blend of chocolate and a shot of their famous espresso.

The coffee drinking scene in Kuala Lumpur seems to be booming pretty well as there are more cafes than it used to be and all of them offer their own blend of coffee or style of brewing. I particularly enjoy the espresso shots served at espressolab as it has a deep golden colour. The best way to enjoy espresso is drinking it fresh but I do enjoy mine with a scoop of ice-cream.

buffet OK May 31, 2013

After highly recommended by my friends few years back, I was ecstatic to able to get a good offer online to enjoy the much anticipated Japanese buffet lunch at Gonbei @ Starhill. To my disappointment, only the entrance was memorable. The choice of food was quite limited and the portion was a little too small for my liking. As for the food, it was only so -so. The only one worth eating was the fresh Oysters and the Sashimi. Choice of drinks: green tea or iced Teh O. This isn't a Japanese buffet I was expecting =(.

tom yum OK May 31, 2013   (Related Review)

A trip to a Thai restaurant would not be complete without trying any Tom Yam which is what Thai restaurants are famous for. Whenever I go for Rama V’s lunch buffet I would never fail to order their Tom Yung Kung and pair it with a bowl of rice. The tom yam has a large variety of spices in it and I like how the mushrooms in the soup soak up the flavours. You can opt for meatless tom yam soup while ordering too but it usually comes with chicken slices.
