Recently Mcdonalds gave out free egg mcmuffin in conjuction with national breakfast day. There was already a long queue by the time I went to get my free breakfast. Even though the queue was long, the staff did a good job in controlling the crowd and their expectations. The burger was lukewarm when I bite into it and I enjoyed the combination of cheese, egg and ham in the burger.

Whenever I have a craving for ice-cream and my I do not want to burn a hole in my wallet I would always got for the sundae cone from Mcdonalds. The ice-cream only cost one ringgit each and it can easily satisfy my cravings. The ice-cream is smooth and sugary sweet though sometimes I feel that the ice-cream is more milky than sweet. As for the wafer cone, it is just paper thin waffles to hold the ice-cream together.

Every time I dine at Popeye’s with my partner, we would never fail to order an extra portion of their mashed potatoes. The mashed potato served here comes with their own special blend of Cajun flavoured gravy which goes well with the buttermilk biscuits sold there. We will always dip the flaky buttermilk biscuit in the gravy and scoop out bits of the mashed potato to go with it.

Apart from their delicious fried chicken, I also like the chicken tenders that is sold here. The fried chicken tenders are fried till deep golden colour and there is a special blend of Cajun spices in the frying batter which makes it extra crispy. Eat it when the chicken tenders are still hot as the taste of the chicken will be quite different once it cools down..

I have always been a big fan of popeye’s fried chicken though I find it hard to get it on a regular basis since only several major shopping malls have the franchise. The fried chicken served here is slightly different from those you get from KFC. The spices give the chicken skin a much crunchier texture and the taste is less salty as well. The price is also quite reasonable compared to the prices charged at KFC so I won’t mind dining at Popeye’s.
