lost in the sea of cafes... OK Aug 07, 2014

Categories : Western variety | Café | Pizza/Pasta | Burgers / Sandwiches

When they first opened many years ago they were good. Serving up all day breakfast with a good selection of coffee drinks. Sadly this is no more. They are now at the bottom especially with the slew of new cafes popping up all over.
Service staff are friendly however takes awhile for food to come. Simple items like bagel with salmon & cream cheese or salmon scramble over toast are tasteless. Not worth the price. Dressing on the side salad is non existent. Their coffee is decent.
Move on & try other cafes. Just not worth the time & money.

good hangout cafe... OK Aug 07, 2014

For hanging out this place is spot on. Relaxed ambiance with a vintage chic sorta layout. Mismatched tables & chairs, stucco walls, dim lighting, artsy chalky menu board & odd mix of decorative items all around. Very inviting. Service is so so. Could be faster & more attentive.
Drinks are good with an interesting twists. Try the Iced Café Latte with Gula Melaka, root beer float, mango coke, Iced Mint Chocolate & Shahi (mint tea). Food wise very homely. Menu isn't that extensive but a good variety. Pastas to sandwiches to breakfast goodies. Good choices would be the beef bamia, baked eggs, spaghetti carbonara & eggs Benedict.
The top draw would be the desserts served up by Souka Bake Shop located just next door. They have a great variety of desserts ranging from cheesecakes to pies to pastries. Some notable ones being the Nutella cheesecake, peanut butter pie, bannofee pie, carrot cake & red velvet. Not to be missed!
Overall a decent place & will return to try out a few more dishes especially the desserts.

all about pork... OK Aug 07, 2014

A no frills simple deco restaurant focusing on porky goodness. Service is average while the menu was pretty good serving up bites, pasta, burgers, rice dishes, salad & desserts.
We started off with some Keropork which were cracklings. Came freshly fried & still popping. Crunchy & goes well with a good beer. For mains we had The Full English, Pork Goulash, Bangers & Mash and Huevos Rancheros. All pretty good especially the sausages which were flavourful & had a good bite to it. The Goulash however was slightly oily & could do with more spice. For dessert we tried their Peanut Butter Pie which was heavenly.
Worth a return to try some other items on the menu especially the ribs & bacon gelato. Do note that they only accept cash which was rather disappointing.

This is an awesome cafe for chilling out. It is charming, inviting & cosy. Love that they spread the tables & chairs out so it doesn't feel stuffy. There is even a sofa to bum. Depending on the weather my pick is the al fresco area.
When it comes to their food & drinks I would say its pretty average. The coffee is decent, nothing special. Managed to try the latte, iced americano & iced mocha. We were aiming for brunch items so tried the Feeka Big Breakfast and Feeka Omelette. The latter was much better especially when I had some lamb sausages to go with it. Also tried the Lavender Cherry Pound cake which was good. Not to sweet & moist. Value wise I felt the pricing is a tad on the high side especially considering portion size.
Overall a great place to chillax. Perhaps to have a cup of joe & some cakes or pastries.

awesome chee cheong fun... Smile Sep 30, 2014

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles | Yong Tau Fu | Group/Family dining

We ended up here after trying to locate a different shop in Pudu. It was super crowded which is the only downside as it takes quite some time to get hold of a table. However everything was well worth it after the food came. The best of all has to be the chee cheong fun either in black sauce or curry. The dried shrimp topping is the star. Makes it so much better. On top of that the variety of yong tau foos is pretty extensive. Almost every vegetable imagineable. All fresh, springy & yummy. Plus the usual foo chuk, taufoo & variety of meatballs. The fried pig intestines is a must try. Something that you can't find often.

Service is fast & attentive. Turnover is quick so the wait isn't that bad. Cleanliness is decent enough. Definitely recommended to all who love yong tau foo & chee cheong fun.
