Hakka Noodle  Smile May 12, 2016
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

This is my first visit to this restaurant, to be frank with you I have not heard of this brand before. Wonder is this the famous Lou Shu Fun from Seremban?! I was just finished my shopping at SSF and happen to spot parking available in front of the shop. Without further hesitation, I stepped into the shop. They offered various types of noodles, luckily. This is because I dislike Lou Shu Fun.

I have ordered their Hakka Noodle which is one of their popular item. Meantime, my beverage was served. Sour Plum drink, this is refreshing, sweetness and sourness were perfectly on my liking.

Hakka Noodle, the noodle was very springy, lightly salted with roasted Char Siew on top. I like the taste of the minced meat, it goes well with the noodle. This is delicious!

I definitely will come back again to try other noodle. Nonetheless, my friend has tried the Claypot Yee Mee, she has positive comment too.

Fish Ball Noodle OK May 12, 2016
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

I am not a fan of Fish Ball noodle and my last bowl of Fish Ball at Ah Koong was a decade ago. Yes, indeed that long. I was here by chance also my friend is craving for Fish Ball Noodle. I quite reluctant to come here as the parking is limited and I have no choice to park at the open parking space behind the shop which cost RM5 per entry .

The restaurant was a bit quite after lunch time, therefore our foods were served fast. I have myself a bowl of signature Fish Ball noodle (Mee Hoon) and add on two pieces of Fish Cake. In fact, they offer quite a variety of ingredients which you can pick and choose from the counter behind such as Yong Tao Fu, Fish Maw, vegetable etc.

Coming back, Noodle soup was served piping hot with mixture few types of Fish Balls. Soup was clear, to me is a bit flat taste therefore chili padi with soy sauce is the best companion now. I do not really enjoy eating so many balls, okay I have 6 balls in my bowl.

Fish Cake was served hot, taste wise is quite good. Sweet and it has very good mouth feel.

Overall, foods were acceptable to me. However, my friend enjoy it very much.

Normal HK Food OK May 10, 2016

Causeway Bay Restaurant , the newly opened restaurant in Viva Mall. I did not know until I dropped by to this mall. It was very crowded upon arrival during dinner time. I was very lucky to get a table around this peak hour.

Just have a quick order and my order was served in a reasonable waiting time. I have a bowl of Meatloaf Steamed Rice with Salted Fish RM17.40, the portion is small, one thin layer of steamed rice and one thin layer of minced meat. I do not feel satisfied after finish this bowl of rice, you can imagine this was eaten by a man. As for taste wise was very normal, nothing extraordinary.

Roasted Duck Rice RM14.40, the serving was not generous enough. Rice and roasted were acceptable. But the chili dip was good.

Curry Ox Brisket Noodle Soup RM14.00, personally I did not try this noodle. But according to my friend comment was Okay and the same comment with me was the portion is small.

To conclude the overall dining experience, I would like to comment about the pricing is on the high side moreover the price stated on the menu is inclusive of prevailing 6% GST and 10% Service Charge. Indirectly you will feel more expensive if put in this way. Anyway, their foods are expensive even though without tax. Moreover, the portion was extremely small and taste was normal too. I would rather dine at The Prince Restaurant which 2 floors above which offers better food quality, environment and price.

Take Eat Easy OK Apr 27, 2016

Categories : Asian Variety | Western variety | Restaurant | Pizza/Pasta | Steaks / Chops

This café review has been circulating for the past few months in major social media channel. I yet to have chance to try it until today as I need to meet my friend for brunch in Kepong area. Therefore, I suggest to her to visit this café this time. We reached around 11.30am morning and parking is easily accessible.

The café was segregated into two section, bakery and dining area. I was very lucky as I do not need to wait for table even though the café was full at the time. Quite good business though.

Since this is my brunch, I would like to have a breakfast set instead. Truffle Oil Mushroom and Scrambled Egg with Bread RM13.80. Portion is quite decent, consist of mini Harsh brown, shitake mushroom, salad, scramble egg, baked bean and toast.

Of course, I have Latte (RM9.00) to pair with my breakfast. Latte was good, I like the bitter taste of the coffee.

Japanese Style Neopolitan Spaghetti (RM19.90) for my friend. She commented the taste was just average.

Meantime, I have ordered the Turtle Polo Bun (RM3.80) from Bakery section which is Green Tea flavour filling. This is not bad, bun was soft.

Lastly, I had Chocolate Gelato (RM10.90) for my sweet ending.

To wrap up the overall dining experience, ambiance was very cosy moreover the interior design was beautiful. Taste wise was very normal, staffs were very attentive but the foods took ages to come. I would rate 6 out of 10 as whole experience.

Chocolate Dessert Smile Apr 18, 2016
Categories : Western variety | Café | Desserts

This café is not new in the market, they are famous for their chocolate creation desserts. I suppose to drop by Pavilion for dessert however I would like to give it a try here instead.

I just like the design of the café- vibrant and jovial with combination of 2 colours which is light blue and pink.

The café seems quite during my visit, could be it was weekday odd hour moreover the mall itself also quite as usual. Wonder how they can sustain the business.

Okay, coming back. I wanted to try their Crepe today as well as their Chocolate drink. Eventually, I have selected Chocolate Banana Crepe (RM26.50) and Chocolate BOMB (RM12.70).
The presentation of the Crepe was good, appetizing you will feel happy when you see the crepe filled with thick layer of Chocolate. The Chocolate sauce was smooth and creamy, sweetness is just right for me. I would advise this dessert to be shared with 2 or 3 persons, otherwise you will definitely unable to finish if you are eating alone.

Chocolate BOMB, as you can see from the picture. The Chocolate cube and milk are served separately therefore, you have to dip the Chocolate cube into the warm milk and let the Chocolate melt into the milk. Hmhm…taste not bad.

In fact, Mad About Coco does have savoury menu as well such as sandwich, spaghetti, rice etc. Perhaps to drop by next time to try other menu.
