Yummy Roasted Char Siew and Duck! Smile Feb 15, 2016
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant

I intend to do some shopping at Mid Valley, in order to avoid the human and traffic jam. I have reached at 10.30am, to my surprise they are quite many shoppers around. I wanted to eat something hot and filling, Ding Tai Fong and Duck King has crossed my mind. When passing by Ding Tai Fong, I can see a queue from far. Definitely a no to queue up around this hour. Without any hesitation, I walked toward Duck King. Since it is early, only 4 tables are occupied.

Upon seating, we were served a bowl of hot soup. It was Peanut Lotus soup, best to keep my stomach warm. The soup was tasted light and clear. Without need to wait longer, my Two Combination Roasted Meat Noodles was served. I have opted Roasted Char Siew and Roasted Duck to pair with the noodle. The Roasted Char Siew was tendered, sweet and melts in my mouth. As for the Roasted Duck, the meat was soft yet well marinated, especially the skin was crispy. Noodles were very springy and the sauce is tasty too.

Besides that, I have ordered Prawn Dumpling with Chili Sauce as my appetizer. Its came with 5 pieces of Prawn Dumpling immerse into the hot and spicy sauce. The dumpling was pretty huge with mince meat and prawn filling. Overall taste is good.

As for the drink, I get myself a glass of refreshing and chilled Sugar Cane.

My friend has ordered a glass of Orange Juice, she said it was good, freshly squeeze orange juice yet sugar free.

When we about to finish our meal, the waiter served each of us a dessert- Herbal Jelly. It seems this is the complimentary for every main course order.

To wrap up, the overall foods are good. I definitely will come back again.

Yummy Marble Cake Smile Feb 15, 2016

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

Lunch hour has pass, finally I have time to sit down for lunch. Again, cracking head wonder what to eat today, Cozy Corner or Shyet-Li Kopitiam. Taking the elevator up to second floor, when I pass by Kopitiam, I spotted Marble Cake was placed at every table. Yes, I want to eat Marble Cake which I have not been eating this for ages. Moreover, the waitress offered me to reheat the marble cake, why not, it taste better if it is eat hot. Besides that, I have ordered their signature Nasi Lemak with Chicken Rendang and Coffee as well.

While waiting for the Nasi Lemak to be served, let me savour the Marble Cake while it is still hot. Wow, soft, fluffy, light buttery flavor and lightly sweeten. It is gives a taste of traditional flavour. Indeed yummy!

Here comes the Nasi Lemak, standard condiment such as hard boiled egg, peanut, anchovies, cucumber, sambal lastly Chicken Rendang. Upon serving, you can smell the rice was full of coconut aroma. Whereby Chicken Rendang features a rich, thick coconut gravy that gives meat a delightful texture and flavour. The best thing is I was given drumstick which tastes even better.

As for the coffee, they are using local ground coffee, dark and thick texture. Overall taste is average.

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood | Dim sum

How could we miss Yee Sang during Chinese New Year?! Well, this is my Lou Sang in year of Monkey and me and my friend decided to dine at Spring Garden Chinese Restaurant @ Tropicana Golf & Country Resort. Somewhere quite and ample of parking bay available. We managed to get a private room this time and have a quick order as we are hungry.
This restaurant serve two types of Yee Sang, choice of Classic Yee Sang and Fruit Salad. Anyway, I would still prefer Classic one. It came with Abalone and Salmon slices. It was really yummy!

Shark Fin Soup (individual serve), piping hot soup in milky white colour which boiled for long hours. The soup was tasted light and sweet, I can find pieces of fish maw in it. I’m loving it!

Upon dishes were served, I have ordered white rice to pair with the sumptuous dishes.
Nestum Softshell Crab, this is consider medium size Softshell Crab chop into half, deep fried with batter and Nestum for final coating. The Softshell Crab was crispy outside and soft inside, yet filled with the aromatic of Nestum and butter. Thumb up!

Marmite Chicken, deep fried chicken with Marmite coating. It was a flavourful dish and Its goes well with white rice.

Claypot mixed vegetable, this is a vegetarian dish which comprise of glass noodles, Black Fungus, Mushroom etc braised with Oyster Sauce. Indeed a flavourful and tasty too.

Overall, I am satisfied with all the above dishes. Also, the service is good too.

Korean food Smile Feb 05, 2016

Categories : Korean | Restaurant | BBQ | Group/Family dining

I believe everyone has heard of Uncle Jang. Yes they are famous for their Dal Galbi. You will be seeing lot of post in Facebook when they first open. I did not get a chance to try this until today. Purposely drive all way to Sri Petaling branch which is the nearest branch to me. I reached about 6.45pm only 3 tables are occupied. Quite glance on the menu and ordered few signature dishes including Dal Galbi (RM23.60 per portion). hmhm... waiting for them to cook it in front of us. I have chosen spicy one. The spicy pungent you can smell when they cook in front you. In fact, apron is provided however since nobody was wearing it so I did not bother to put on. The server has get ready all the ingredients: Cabbage, Chicken meat etc. I have added Udon (RM6.70) and Ramen (RM9.00) as well.

The cooking progress takes about 15mins and it is ready. The whole dish looks spicy but when I taste it actually is not that spicy that I thought. It will be salty if you intend to eat as is therefore I have paired with Korean rice (RM3.40). Yes, it is a prefect match.

Koream Ginseng Soup (RM21.30) is one of my favourite. The soup was light and sweet. The chicken was stuffed with glutinous rice to bring to boil for couple of hours, the flesh was tender too. I have finished the glutinous but not the chicken as it will be too full for me.

Korean Egg Pancake (RM9.00), I did not expect the pancake was so delicious. Pancake was pan fried to golden brown colour yet it was light and not too oily. It was really good.

Banchams are served however the choices are limited which are Kimchi, Preserved onion and lettuce. Of course garlic and Korean Bean Paste are available too.

It was a satifying dinner I had. I will definitely be back again for more.

Delicious Hakka food Smile Oct 02, 2015
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood | Yong Tau Fu

They are plenty of eateries along the same street and the most serious problem is parking is extremely limited. This is my first visit to Chuan Kee and I came to know they provide jockey service which only cost you merely RM2. Without any hassle, just drive straight to the jockey parking and pass them car key then proceed to the restaurant.

I consider late today 7.30pm, as the restaurant was packed with customers. Im pretty lucky happen to have one table about to check out. Quickily placed the order and wait for the patiently.

Tick tock tick tock......20mins past finally is my turn. The first dish to serve is Yong Tau Fu which is their signature. Im quite surprise that the boss told me they have Yong Tau Fu for dinner. Usually Yong Tau Fu will be served during lunch. This is the Hakka style cooking therefore salted fish one of the ingredient which I love it very much. The fish paste was very soft and delicious. I have tried each of every the varient and I am satisfied.

Stewed mutton is their signature too. The mutton was tendered and flavourful with spices aroma such as star anis, black pepper etc. If you like mutton you should have tried this.

Stirred fried vegetable, taste was quite standard.

Wu Xi Pork Ribs 无锡排骨 is available here, quite a surprise, I had this before when I was in Wu Xi China. Did not know that is actual available in Malaysia. The taste and presentation is almost similar to the one I had in China. The Pork Ribs were braised in the thick dark sauce.

Lastly, is the Steam Fish. I did not touch the fish therefore I have no comment on this. However, looking at the appearance is appetizing guaranteed.

The portion served were generous. I did not have the itemised bill and I have no idea how much is the individual price. The total bill sum up to RM117 including chinese tea. To me, this is consider reasonable. Anyhow, is worth a visit cause the foods are delicious!
