You know how amazing human brain works ? Taking the old classic chinese You Tiao (油条) and make it something new. So for those of you who don't know what You Tiao is, how about calling it the Chinese Cruller or Chinese Oil Stick ? Still don't ring the bell ? How about the classic name Yau Char Kway or Hokkien Eu Char Kueh, ok enough .. simple the Fried Breadstick.Looks familiar now ? haha .. This stall here in Paya Terubong is taking the You Tiao into a whole new level by stuffing other food into it and making it taste good. Te Chang You Tiao Wang Enterprise is a small stall by the road side that sell You Tiao and Soya Bean Drinks, it become famous lately due to its creativity in turning You Tiao into something special.Te Chang You Tiao, though it is located by the road side, but its surrounding is clean and it makes us feel comfortable eating their special You Tiao there. Tables are limited so sometimes will have to wait for table or you can try to come early so that you can get table easily.Sausage + Mayonnaise You Tiao

The food here is tasty, well depending on individual, some might not like the tuna or the sausage and some might like both white and black sesame, it really is depending on individual but for us we feel that the You Tiao is well cooked and it is crunchy all 'You Tiao' round, haha ! which is slightly different compare to the normal You Tiao where the middle part is less crunchy. The Sausage and Mayonnaise You Tiao is nice and the other one that we like is the Black and White Sesame Twins You Tiao.Black & White Sesame Twins You Tiao

We ordered Tuna And Mayonnaise You Tiao but from the look and the taste, it feels like as if it is a vegetable you tiao, haha ! We can't taste the tuna in the you tiao, it tasted more like cabbage in it.Floss + Mayonnaise You Tiao

We really like the Black Soya Bean Drinks. It comes in bowl which is enough for two people. Black Soya Bean Drinks

The food is good here and the price is not expensive too. A bowl of Black Soya Bean Drinks cost us RM1.50 and 4 plates of You Tiao cost us RM6.50. Total damage done for the day is only RM9.50, ok right considering the amount of food for that price.

To make it easier for you to find this place look for Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (Cina) Kong Min Cawangan 2 at Paya Terubong, if you are coming from Farlim, this stall is right before the Kong Ming school. Meaning, if you are coming from Farlim, you will need to turn right at the T-Junction after Farlim McDonalds and Caltex where in front of you is a Shell Petrol Station. After you turn right, drive straight until you see Jabatan Bomba & Penyelamat Malaysia on your right. Keep drive straight and you will see Te Chang You Tiao on your left which is before the Kong Ming school.

Yay, another Dak Galbi (닭갈비) food to add in the list ! haha .. well, this is the all famous and always full with customer lining up waiting for seat Dak Galbi chain korean restaurant Uncle Jang ! haha .. ever since the day Uncle Jang Korean Restaurant start operating in Penang, a lot of people is going crazy over Dak Galbi, lining up at Uncle Jang Korean Restaurant waiting for seat to try out their Dak Galbi. We might be a little bit late with this post because it seems like already a lot of people tried it before, haha ! Anyway, it is never too late for something ..

Uncle Jang Korean Restaurant is situated at Vantage, Penang near to Tesco Tanjong Tokong, in the same row of shops with another korean restaurant serving Dak Galbi as well which is the 春川 ChunCheon Korean Food Restaurant.Uncle Jang Korean Restaurant is more cooling inside with big fan and strong air cooler to keep the surrounding cold in order to counter the heat from the cooking of Dak Galbi. The service from the waiter is prompt and good, they will greet you before they take order and when you leave Ungle Jang. The food serving is fast too so we don't have to wait long from the moment our order were taken until the food is serve on our table.Though Uncle Jang is famous for its Spicy Chicken BBQ call Dak Galbi, they do serve other food as well like :

Well this is not something new, it is just that we feel this place is worth writing a post about. Idealite Wellness Restaurant have a few outlet in Penang but the one we went to is the one in Queensbay Mall. Idealite Wellness Restaurant is said to be meat free which mean no pork, no chicken, no lard, no beef, no fish and no lamb but is it 100% vegetarian restaurant ? We can't be 100% sure but we can tell that the dish does not contain egg. Idealite Wellness Restaurant serve a variety of healthy food which is less sweet, less salt and less oil (probably none at all). We piglets certified this as a healthy place to dine !To us, the food here is tasty even though some of the food especially those with soup is kinda bland but what can you expect from a healthy food that uses only a little (probably near to none) salt, sugar and oil ?Signature Hakka Lei Cha RM 14.70

(Fragrant Lei Cha soup is boiled with mint, basil and a variety of spices, to form the explosion of aroma. This light and sweet soup with brown rice is Idealite Wellness Restaurant signature dish)

The Signature Hakka Lei Cha is definitely a must try dish at Idealite Wellness Restaurant. We strongly recommend this dish if you are new to Idealite or if you want to eat this every visit is also recommended, haha ! The soup is made out of few different type of vegetables blend together into a soup, the soup if then pour onto the rice to mix it before eating. The taste of the vegetable soup is tasty but just as a note, not everyone will like the taste of it as it has very strong vegetable smell and taste, well it is a vegetable soup though, haha !Idealite Chee Cheong Fun RM 4.70

(Different from other Chee Cheong Fun in the market, the Idealite Chee Cheong Fun does not contain any benzoic acid. The glistening sauce does not contain shrimp paste. It is simply light and tasty)

If you compare, this Chee Cheong Fun does not taste as good as those from other places, we feel maybe it is due to the paste they use does not contain prawn. The Chee Cheong Fun taste the same except the prawn paste that does not taste like prawn, haha !Hokkaido Vege Sushi RM 9.70

(Rice rolls with aromatic seaweed stuffing soft to the taste. Containing burdock purple cabbage and a plethora of vegetables, this dish is not only tasty, it also strengthens the immune system)

Hokkaido Vege Sushi taste a little bit sour due to the sauce the put at the outer layer of the sushi, over all, it is still nice to eat.Green Curry Ramen RM 13.70

Made with organic oat milk, without any coconut milk, this curry is cooked sweet with hint spiciness. Delicious to the last slurp)Healthy Soup Ramen RM 12.70

(Pumpkin, radish and assorted mushroom broth that is flavorful and sweet to the taste. Suitable for those looking for a light meal)

A light meal it is, the vegetables and pumpkin put into this Soup Ramen does taste flavorful but the soup is bland, it is just like drinking plain water, haha .. but its good, too salty or oily is not good for health !Passion Fruits + Pineapple RM 8.70Beetroot + Carrot + Green Apple + Pear RM 8.70

Beetroot is where the drinks get its colour from and not from those artificial colour put into it.Black Sesame Soy Milk RM 5.70

Black Sesame Soy Milk has a thick layer of sesame in it making the soy milk taste good.The environment in Idealite Wellness Restaurant is good, their service is good and their waiter and waitress are friendly too. Price wise, we feel that it is a little bit expensive.Piglets Rating :

Kek Chuan Road in Penang used to be just an ordinary road with old houses or maybe shop lots, well piglets are not sure about that, but the rows of building on both side of Kek Chuan Road used to be old. Now this small and short little road is transformed into a more lively place with few new cafe now open, photo studio, music centre and lots more.

Dolce Dessert Cafe is also situated at Kek Chuan Road, Penang

Dolce Dessert has a unique wall painting on it. Taking rat as their theme, the painting makes dolce looks different compares to other cafe in Penang. Don't worry, the rats are not the ugly looking type of rats, they will make you go .. "Auw !! Cute" ... hehehe !To see the rat holding the cheese as if they are running around Dolce Cafe does makes us hungry !!Dolce Cafe is a dessert house ! They sells different type of dessert ranging from cakes to macaroons. Some of the cakes there are uniquely designed just like the one we had which looks like a log with christmas tree. Yup, you heard us right .. it is a menu for Soul Cafe at Kek Chuan Road. Another nice cafe in this little old but revived road in Penang.When we first walk in Soul Cafe, we were kinda confuse, is its a photography store or a cafe ? And what is Sogor ? Well let us tell you, haha ! The confuse piglets trying to un-confuse their readers, haha !
