To be honest, I'm not a fans of the famous Funny Mountain or Funky Mountain taufufah, for I've been a beancurd lovers since like ever, I never found FM's taufufah was as smooth and nice as the one I used to have every single week during my childhood.

If you're coming to Ipoh, make sure you give this shop a try. Located at Bercham Hawker Food Street, just opposite 7-11, you'll find this small little corner shop with no banner and no name, selling humble yet best ever taufufah (for my own opinion)

 
Cost Rm1.2 per bowl, portion slightly bigger than FM's beancurd, the texture is firm yet smooth and the portion is just nice for me, i wouldn't have the feeling of "what? that's it?"

If you're not a sweet tooth, make sure you ask the uncle to make it less sweet for you.

喜欢榴莲的朋友有福气了!
听妈妈说这里的留恋蛋糕不错,就要求妈妈订了一个榴莲千层糕来庆祝爱吃榴莲的爸爸的生日。

 

 

 
那天,刚回到怡保妈妈来到火车站载我,说”试一下这榴莲 puff,新鲜出炉,一口吃完吧”

我把整粒(其实还真的有点大,不过比起 melaka 那个稍微小一点点而已,也是硬塞进嘴巴的)
浓浓榴莲cream 涌出,霎时感动!

这留恋的味道也太....真实了吧!

我个人不喜欢吃加工过的食物,什么榴莲糕,凡是加工过的就不喜欢感觉味道很假。
但这个,我一吃爱上,只能说,它家还真的使用纯榴莲呢!

晚上迫不及待,吃过晚餐后就回家吃蛋糕。
千层榴莲蛋糕啊!

如果是 nadeje 不懂要多少钱了,这个有稍微便宜啦。

只是,你看到了吗,里面有“非常真实的榴莲肉”
咬下去的时候还可以吃到榴莲表皮比较硬的那层呢!

且不管是不是冰冻很久的榴莲,但这猫山王榴莲真的让人没齿难忘!

虽然 decoration 很“旧时代”的味道,新新人类可能就不喜欢,觉得很 out.
但这蛋糕已经好吃到我完全 ignore 掉它的外表了!

There are a lot of cafes setting its foot in Ipoh Town nearly, well I guess this must be the most-hit cafe where everyone is talking about how tasteful their cakes is, and how nice their ambience is.

So we've decided to pay a visit, you know, being a typical Ipohan one must know every single bits of their beloved small town.

Well, I must say, it deserved the vibes.

I've ordered a Flat White, as usual.

 
(Sorry for the photo doesn't look like a Flat White, more like a Green Tea Latte)
I'm pleased with my drink. Not too coffee, not too milky, yet one can taste the milk on the tongue and coffee afterwards.

Not a quiche person, for I prefer patisserie more than savoury, their quiche taste nice too! Not too salty, yet fresh with bacon and cheese. The crust(?) is not hard at all, in another word, the quiche is fresh and doesn't taste like over-night-been-displaying-in-the-shelf-for-like-5-days-quiche.

We can't be always enjoying food in high-end restaurant, or cafe. Sometimes, and most of the times, you'll find some real nice restaurants especially in the neighborhood.

Restoran Wong Kee is a place where me and my family always visit, almost every weekend.

 

 

 

 
I like their sambal kangkung, onion oil taufu, and salted egg sotong. For a family style neighborhood restaurant, this is a very affordable yet you can expect delicious dinner here. Our family always host some annual dinner at this restaurant too! 

For the above 4 dishes, with some herbal teas for 5 of us, usually cost below RM50.

爸爸是个很传统的人,每个星期外吃就只有那几间选择。
这是其中一家。

 

 

 

 

 
就连菜色也是来来去去那几样哈哈。

老爸爱吃臭豆,但全家也只有他和老弟爱吃。
我吃过一两颗,是不错啦,sambal 够香,但不会太辣,大虾很新鲜就对了。

咸蛋莲藕,有谁会不喜欢? 这里的莲藕没有炸得很脆,咬下去还有点绵绵的感觉,但感觉还好。太脆反而觉得太干(咸蛋炒莲藕本身就干的,如果莲藕本身也干干可能就不太好了)

罗汉斋 -- 不懂要点什么菜,就来了个罗汉斋。也不错啊,有点杂菜的感觉。

虾仁炒蛋 -- 蛋,能差到哪里去呢?蛋很香,不太油,虾仁新鲜。

酱蒸金凤鱼 -- 妈妈知道一个人住在外比较少吃鱼,所以每次会家外吃总会点鱼。没有泥味,挺新鲜!

这里环境不错,价格相比之下也没有很贵。水准也不会忽上忽下,来这里总不会失望。
