Fish head noodles Smile Dec 15, 2015
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood | Noodles

Soon Soon Lye Fish Head Restaurant is a typical chinese kopitiam filled with marble tables and chairs. No fancy decorations just with pictures of food hanging on the wall.

Two types of noodles to choose : thin (beehoon) or Thick noodles (Add additional Rm 1.00) The bowl comes with slices of yam, tomatoes, vege, gingerand not forget to mention: fresh fishes and generous amount of it. The soup is creamy and rich in flavour. Usually I will choose the added milk flavour as my choice of dish head noodle .Soon Soon Lye offers premium fish such as Salmon Fish, Cod Fish and Ling Cod Fish. Besides fish head noodles, Soon Soon Lye serves appetizers such as fried fu chuk (beancurd sheet), fried wantons ,fish cake, and etc.

Another must dish my family will order is their steam fish head which comes with few fish head steam with ginger paste and some thick noodles under the fish heads. The amount of omega-3 you will have and freshness of their fish is all in the plate.

You may opt to add in the fiery hot belacan paste and it will gives the noodles an extra kick of flavor. Verdict: Highly recommend this restaurant for Fish Head Noodles.

Chicken Rice Smile Dec 13, 2015

Categories : Chinese | Kopitiam

Lian Kee Chicken Rice is a chicken rice stall that serves one of the best Ipoh style poached chicken rice in the area. It is a stall inside a hawker center known as Mei Sek Restaurant at USJ 14 Subang Jaya which only open during dinner time (5.30pm till 11.00 pm)

They serve succulent poached chicken drenched in soy sauce and oil that will leave your mouthwatering at the thought of it. The steamed chicken was cooked so well that it had the texture of kampung chicken, firm and juicy. Dishes goes well with their ginger paste and chilli dips. You can choose to have full blown Ipoh-style chicken rice meal with crunchy beansprouts or a simple bowl of hor fun. Besides, they serves oil rice which is a must when you are having chicken rice. My meal is best ordered with blanches bean sprouts and meatball soup.

All prices around RM5.00 to RM 15.00.Price on menu is included with GST.
They also serve some of the best sides for chicken rice in the country, in the likes of braised egg and tofu, fish and pork meat and intestine, not to forget their meatball soup is what I always have to order ( cost around RM 1.00 per ball ).

Thomas Corner Smile Dec 11, 2015

Categories : Western variety | Food court | Steaks / Chops

Been here since young. Thomas Western located at OUG, a stall outside Restoran Ong Lay. It is a normal hawker stall which sells delicious and affordable western food. It may look ordinary, but they serve amazing western dishes. Two section on the menu- deep fried or grilled which cost approximately RM 10-16 per dish.

Dishes are serve with french fries or vegetables with very delicious sauce. For chicken chop, you can choose black pepper or mushroom sauce. The dishes are also serve with a unique potato which I only found it at Thomas Corner. It is cut in cube or round potatoes and place in empty half potato which can be eaten together with the skin. Normally when I crave for French Fries, I will ask to change the mix vege to french fries.

Cordon Blue is worth to try. It is dish of meat wrapped around cheese or with cheese filling then breaded and deep fried. Besides, I also had tried Maryland Chicken which is Crispy and crunchy chicken fillet with some brown gravy.
The Maryland also comes in big serving and added with sausage too. Other menu items I would recommend is the mix grill, which combines one piece of fish, chicken and lamb chop together.

Pan Mee OK Dec 08, 2015
Categories : Chinese | Stall / Warung | Noodles

Ken & Shirley Pan Mee is located at roadside (Jalan SK6/1), beside Shi Tou steamboat and opposite 7-Eleven. Very simple banner menu is hang on the wall. This noodle house is special due to its variety of noodles. They have normal Pan Mee and Ramen. They are unique of their spinach Pan Mee which the noodle is green in colour. As usual, they serve Pan Mee Soup or Dry, Chilies Pan Mee or Ramen.

The food on menu ranging from RM4.00 -RM6.00.Side order Dumpling (RM1.00) , Bean Curd (RM0.60) , Meat Ball or Fish Ball (3 for RM1.00).For beverages they serve Red Bean Soup (RM1.20),Chinese Herbal Tea (RM 1.20), Cincau (RM1.20) or Soda (RM2.00).Besides, they have desserts such as Chinese Herbal Jelly (Gui lin gao ) and Fruit Pudding (RM2.50)

I ordered hand- pinced pan mee as always. It comes with 2 meat ball ,vege and a small plate of fried Ikan Bilis. But it is quite disappointing as it is machine made noodles which comes out different biting taste. Lastly, the dumpling had weird taste which I regretted to order. On the other hand, their Ramen really look like Japanese Ramen, served with seaweeds, sweet corns, fish ball, pork ball and spinach and my add-on dumpling is flood in the bowl.

Their Business hour is 4pm till 11pm .Contact Number is 016-6361083

A&W Kinrara OK Dec 07, 2015
Categories : Western variety | Restaurant | Burgers / Sandwiches | Halal

I have been an A&W supporter since 15 years ago and so sad a lot of outlets had closed down. Fortunately, there is one 5 mins away from my house which is located at Petronas Bandar Kinrara , Puchong.

It used to have lousy service ,not clean places and low standard served food. Anyhow, it had renovated and improved into a better place, cleaner environment and better service with better standard food.
I have been a fan of their waffles: syrup (Honey and butter) or ice cream .They are famous for their curly fries and hotdog burgers .Besides, they do have normal fries and a lot of burger choices. For drink choices, it is a must to get their more than usual root beer or float (which I always order for).

For November ,chcicken wrap & Roll is their special promotion which includes one chicken wrap & roll with chicken coney sauce, one salad with Mozza dressing, one piece of fried chicken and one large rootbeer float. Each meal only cost RM18.95 and the promotion is deal until 4th of January.
They also have Awesome Deals every Monday and Tuesday which is Mozza Monday ( mozza burger,fries,rootbeer)(RM12.10) and Coney Tuesday (beef / chicken coney , French fries ,rootbeer) (RM8.45).
