Roast Duck! Smile Aug 11, 2012   (Related Review)

And of course, their Special Boneless Roast Duck (RM 34 for half a duck)! Prices of duck at Village Roast Duck aren't cheap by any standards, which is understandable considering the location. Is it worth it? I think it's definitely worth a try! The meat is tender, and the skin is undeniably, unhealthily good. There's a lot of sauce in the picture and yes, that's how it is in real life too. Definitely good for those who like lots of sauce with their duck rice! Finally, good quality duck that can be found in a nice restaurant instead of from the back of a van. =D

Durian Rolls Smile Aug 14, 2012   (Related Review)

But though the food at SekMeChoy is worth the visit, the REAL reason why I recommend this place is because of these Durian Rolls (RM 5)! On the outside, all that is visible is the rice paper pastry, commonly found in some dim sum dishes (if you like, a Chinese version of kataifi filo pastry). But take a look inside, and you'll be greeted with the sight of yellow durian flesh oozing out of the pastry! With the hot and crispy outer layer freshly fried and the durian inside kept at cold refrigerator-chilled temperature as you take a bite, this works out to be one of the best hot-cold yin & yang desserts in KL!

It was so good, we had to have a plate before dinner, and then another round after we finished eating. Such was its awesome-ness. =D Still, only attempt this if you don't mind durian, otherwise the advice remains to keep away..heh

Since we were on such a roll with food that night, we treated ourselves to dessert too! G3 has a vast array of desserts, but nothing looked better than this chocolate fondant (G3 has a fancier name for this, but unfortunately, our memory fails us tongue) - chocolate cake with a molten lava centre with a scoop of ice cream on top.

I wouldn't call this our favourite molten lava cake, but it was nice enough, with a steaming hot liquid centre. Not the first on our list of recommendations, but we won't advise avoidance either. Satisfying end to a great dinner!

Like I said, we were feeling greedy that night, so we went and ordered a Pesce Fumato (RM 28) to share! Broken down, it consists of smoked tuna, salmon & snow fish in honey mustard sauce, with a thin crust for base and some rocket on top. =)

Being greedy doesn't always pay off, but this time it did! Maybe we were so impressed because we underestimated the pizza at G3; all I can say is when we sunk our teeth into that pizza we knew everything was just right! There was a generous portion of fish, with just the right amount of rocket to balance the richness of the tangy, sweet honey mustard sauce. Another great combination by G3.

Chicken Tikka Masala Smile Aug 13, 2012   (Related Review)

I had trouble choosing the best dish to try, but the waiter recommended this Chicken Tikka Masala (RM 29) - a half chicken marinated with Indian spice, served on brown rice with tomato salsa, and mint-yoghurt sauce on the side. Before he recommended I had already included this in one of my choices narrowed down, so he just helped make up my mind. =P

Diners are warned that this take 20 minutes to prepare. Since it was a quiet night, we got ours sooner than that. But then I wouldn't mind waiting 20 minutes for this! I got served one piece of juicy, tender chicken thigh and one chicken breast. I don't know how to describe the flavour except to say it was robust, and compounded with the brown rice filled with onion, tomato, and parsley. I didn't care much for the mint sauce because the chicken and the rice had lots of flavour going for it already with the various grain and herbs in it - anymore and it was overload! Still, I thoroughly enjoyed this down to the last mouthful. =D
