Lovely Cakes Smile Jun 10, 2012

Categories : Halal | Sweets/Snack | Bakery / Cake / Kuih

There are a 1001 cake shops from Kings to Secret Recipe to Baker's Cottage. However, many still do not really know about Berry's cake house.

Berry's signage is red and attractive. Inside, they have a variety of buns and cakes etc.

You should try their cakes ,especially the chocolate cake. It is rich and chocolaty. For chocolate lovers like me, it is not a let down.

there are rings of chocolates (white chocolate?) on the top too, and their decoration is always elegant.

For those who like carrot cake, many find this place's carrot cake nice. Average cake price for 1KG cake is RM53.

Pan Mee that makes you laugh? Smile Jun 10, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

Literally translated, HAHAXiu Pan Mee means Laughing loudly "Haha!" Pan Mee. Not a bad name, I guess.

This is a little cozy place, simple design. What I like is the availability of magazines (even the latest Cleo, Women's weekly etc) and comics (Doraemon!) that is on the shelves when you walk in.

Not that you have to wait long, as food is served relatively fast. They have a variety of tong sui, and you can take the set (along with the pan mee) that will save you about RM0.80.

Dumpling pan mee. Pan mee price is generally RM6-RM6.80. The portion is generous, I must say. The soup is thick, and has some Chinese vegetables that add to the flavor.

They have a variety of flavors of mee itself, this is the spinach knife cut pork pan mee. Add on RM0.30 for special flavours like pumpkin, beetroot etc. Nice but actually not much difference tastewise,if you are talking about the pan mee smile The pork pan mee is good, and has a generous amount of pork (and innards like liver, but you can always opt out), and is very worth the money.

I my opinion, its definitely a place that is worth my money. I have already gone there twice in the 1-2 months I've known the place ;)

Breeks @IOI Mall Smile Jun 10, 2012

Next to the famous Seoul Garden in IOI mall , breeks has its little space. Its actually linked to Seoul Garden, so I guess they are from the same management.

Layout at Breeks. Clean and simple.

They serve Western food, with your choice of beverage. Here, you can see their tea served in a cup.

Chicken soup was simple and normal.

The quarter chargrilled chicken was fantastic. The chicken was juicy with enough juice flowing, and there was alot of fries as well. Their vegetables were grilled. Sorta bland, but the healthier choice, no?

The sort of fusion dory fish with some special sauce, served with pasta and a generous amount of salad was also lovely.

Do visit if you are looking for a nice place for Western food. Afterall, prices are comparable to the neighboring Nando's and Papa John's Pizza.

Recommended Dish(es):  quarter chargrilled chicken

Spending per head: Approximately RM20

Passage Thru India Smile Jun 10, 2012

Categories : Indian | Restaurant

You know they say the internet has revolutionized so many things, such as you can now visit a certain place although not physically. However, you can't taste their food tongue

However, the solution was found when the 'place' came to us instead, such as "Passage Thru India". Their restaurant is decorated in a way that is full of Indian culture. If I'm not mistaken, their chefs come from India, and they offer authentic indian food.

Their prices are really high, but you can expect quality products. Their lassi is good, you have choices of mango, plain and banana lassi. Thick and rich, and totally satisfying.

Their food is amazing too. From butter chicken to Kashmiri naan(with lots of raisins and jelly in it/), you find this place a good place to eat, albeit you'll be rendered much poorer tongue

Korean BBQ steamboat Smile Jun 09, 2012
Categories : Thai | Restaurant | Steamboat/Hotpot | BBQ

I've never been a big fan of steamboat myself, because it's a lot of work (boiling soup), and sometimes food seems bland!

Korean BBQ Steamboat @IOI however was to my liking. The special thing is that the meat is not marinated, and hence the original taste is preserved. You can choose whether to "fry" it or to "boil" it steamboat style in soup.

Try it with the special sauce, add lime and garlic to it. Its awesome. I left out the chilis as I'm not a spicy food lover. The mountain of cabbage you see is to be dunked in the soup, it really makes the soup sweeter smile

If you come before 5pm on weekdays and if you're a student, inquire about student sets. A family set (like this, there are many choices) comes with 20% discount with your student card lol.
