A place called Home Smile Jun 01, 2015

What an extraordinary name for a restaurant. Contrary to popoular suggestions, no house and co was not named because they serve homecooked food like mom used to make. House and Co used to be a retail outlet selling interior decorative items. The evolution of House & Co is nothing short of remarkable

Under the helm of the owner and head Chef, House & Co has created unique and exciting dishes such as the deep fried Sea Bass. Layered with a light batter, the fish is deep fried until it turns gold and then it is served with a special soy sauce dip. The Omega 3 from the Sea Bass melts in the mouth and the dip just eccentuates the taste.

Another amazing dish the the Tiger Prawn in Special Sauce. It is clear by now that the restaurant only serves the best ingredients. The prawns are fresh and succulent, all of them evenly coated with glistening glaze of spicy and sweet sauce. This is a dish that you have to eat with your fingers and it is so good, you will lick the plate clean.

House & Co has other great dishes in its menu. A must try place if you love Malaysian traditional delicacies

This is what Heaven is like Smile Jun 01, 2015

Categories : Western variety | Café | Halal | Sweets/Snack

Heaven happens to be at Bangsar Shopping Centre. You'll be attracted to its variety of cakes and pastries but when you study the menu, it is also filled with interesting concoctions by the Chef.
Take for example a dish that is very rare, even in other restaurants, the Greek Quinoa Salad.
It is so light and refreshing it transports you to the blue Aegean sea. The yoghurt is a light dressing but the salad is full bodied with a mixture of quinoa and other roasted Mediterranean vegetables.

Since Just Heavenly is so utterly famous for it's bakes and cakes, for a main course I chose the Steak Pie. Imagine my delight when the pie crust is actually puff pastry covering a bowl of hot juicy steak. The best part is the mashed peas and potatoes in a rich brown gravy that is so soothing to the hungry tummy.

Finally, take a nibble at the petite cheese cake that looks too good to destroy. the cheese is just nice and not overpowering. Of course best taken with a cup of hot java

What are you waiting for? Heavens' gates are always opened for those who seek divine dining

The chee cheong fun noodle was thicker than I have tried at other dim sum restaurants
And instead of the noodle being sliced in long thin pieces
Tai ka seng rolled their chee cheong fun and sliced them in small rolls
It was jot so salty which was great and the chili that was providef wasn't spicy either
A typical chee cheong fun you get in hong kong which is more bland because the hong

salted egg pau Smile Dec 31, 2013

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Dim sum

the salted egg pau hallmark is the ability for the creamy content to ooze out at the first bite
The salted egg pau at this newly opened dim sum shop serves two pau in a set
The pau is smaller than a red bean pau but bigger than a siu loong pau
Its made in a small size because too much salted egg can be overwhelming for one person
The creamy yellow content of the pau is smooth and warm at the first bite
It had a balance of sweetness and saltiness

pigs in blanket Smile Dec 31, 2013   (Related Review)

the pigs in a blanket is another best selling snack at the swine
one plate has 5 pigs in a blanket which is essentially a pork sausage wrapped in a bacon and then baked or fried to perfection
the bacon gives the sausage a crispy skin so that it is crunchy at the first bite
this dish comes with the house special sauce which has a bit of mustard in it but I cannot be sure of the other ingredients
the pigs in blanket sits on a pile of green salad which act both as a garnish and also to absorb the extra oil form the pigs in blanket
