Fried Rice

Fried Rice

Perhaps I could do a better job than this. Compared to many hawker stalls in various places, no places did as bad as this. The rice was fluffy (okay); the long beans was cooked (thank goodness); the eggs was so pitiful (seemed like an egg for two big bowls of rice); the prawns were not fresh (gameyyy!); last but not least, bland (OMG, how could a restaurant this HUGE cooked such a bad fried rice?). THE END.

Fettucini with salmon in tomato cream sauce

Fettucini with salmon in tomato cream sauce

I must say this fresh pasta was very very good in terms of texture; it was not too chewy like the dry pasta and it was cooked al dente. What sold me off was salmon in tomato cream sauce. My friend who tried this with me did agree that the gravy was superb and lovely! Simply love the tomato cream sauce but the salmon wasn't too fresh. It was such a shame to a nicely done pasta.

Pumpkin puree  Smile Jul 31, 2012   (Related Review)

I like pumpkin on its own or savory. Both are fine for me. It was my first time having pumpkin as dessert though. The purée was not as dense, slightly watery but not the red bean tong sui type of watery. Tasted slightly sweet but it was very very mild. The texture was very close to mango purée but loaded with more fibre.

  Pandan Paste Sesame Ball

Pandan Paste Sesame Ball

This dessert was served on top of a shot glass, where at the bottom of the shot glass, you could see some gravy in it, which was "Teo Chew" yam paste. The evenness of sesame was obvious, crispy much that it cracked upon pressure (not too much), and out came the smell of pandan.

Look at the glorious green filling. No skimpy filling here as for the price charged, you would reasonably expect it to be so. The paste was very dense and fragrant. To eat it with the teo chew sauce, what I did was a bite of the sesame ball and a small sip of the teo chew sauce.

Muy Choy Kao Yuk

Muy Choy Kao Yuk

This is one of the not too bad dish but I did not find myself liking it. Personally because I have had better one which was home made. Notably, the tenderness of the pork loaf was done quite perfectly. The only thing was the muy choy was not as flavorful as I expected it to be, though it was cooked to super soft. The missing part was the intensity of flavor and perhaps more chunkiness from muy choy.
