Beef Fried Rice OK Jul 23, 2012   (Related Review)

Beef Fried Rice

Like my other review about this restaurant, the flavour itself was really good, with a lot of taste inside. But I somehow think it was the doing of artifical flavouring as i was really thirsty after that. Anyway, they added in a lot of beef strips inside this dish, so you're sure to get your money's worth. The fried rice itself wasn't as nice, because it did not have the "burnt" taste as what we have come to expect from a chinese cuisine.

Cantonese Yin Yong Cry Jul 23, 2012

Cantonese Yin YOng

Well, the food isn't bad, in fact it was really tasty. But too tasty isn't always a good thing, which got me thinking how much taste enhancing powder "think Ajinomoto" have they added into the dishes. I'm not blindly saying this, as almost always I feel really thirsty after a meal here.

The Cantonese yin yong, was crunchy with the meaty sauce added in around it. It must be eaten hot, fresh from the kicthen so that the noodles does not soak too much of the sauce and goes too soft.

Sambal Kangkung  OK Jul 23, 2012

Sambal Kangkung

My partner ordered this. We need to make sure there's vegetables in all our meals, for a healthier body. I have no complaints on this dish, which is a good sign. The sambal was just nice. Nothing extraordinary about the taste though, just your average sambal kangkung .

Overall, a rather satisfying meal, affordable too. But there are so many other affordable food spots in Penang. Come here for the no frills back to basics delicious chinese dishes.

Hainanese Steamed Chicken  OK Jul 23, 2012

The serving was rather large for 2 persons, I tried to order a smaller serving, but the waiter mentioned this was the smallest serving they had. If I'm not mistaken, it was half a chicken. The taste was superb though. I'm always in love with these type of "white" chicken, the chicken flesh always comes out being really smooth and added with the soy sauce, it is rather tasty.

Mee Rebus OK Jul 23, 2012

Located very nearby my penang family house, do try their mee rebus here. With the sweet sauce over it, the mee rebus here tasted really nice. It had a savoury taste, served hot you can actually squeeze in some lime provided to give it a more tangy sourish taste.

Inside they have the noodles, half boiled egg, vegetables and lots of kueh-like ingredients. I like it because it was rather crunchy, giving out a nice texture on top of the nice taste.
