Har kao Cry Dec 17, 2013   (Related Review)

Although not great, the Loong Seng Dim Sum manages to preserve very old school coffee shop ambience while they retain very emblematic tables and chairs in typical coffee shops. Harkao (Shrimp Dumpling) was lousy with the steaming timing or they might have left it too long to be kept warm inside the steaming tray. The thick skin was almost close to mushy and was destroyed almost the very instant when the chopstick picks it.

There is also something heavier than just breads, buns and pastries of both sweet and savoury. I saw curry chicken on the menu and ordered it. For RM 14.80, there is a slice of very thick bread slightly toasted, and a generous amount of chicken, carrot, and potatoes. The curry had very thick curry powder so the gravy was rough and dry. The toast was also dry so it was really not my thing.

Sloppy mango crepe Cry Dec 16, 2013

Recently reviewing some restaurants around this area got me stopping by my latest ochado addiction here at the sri petaling for dessert after my reviews. I was impressed with the relaxing layout of this outlet. Breezy and spacious with chic design of lounges as well as tables and chairs to chill and chat over some delicious drinks and perhaps few slices of mille crepe layer cakes.

Having tried two flavours of their cakes, I am motivated to want to try more flavours of their mille crepe layer cakes. It was rather late and all they have left is the mango flavour, which apparently I learnt that they only have four flaovurs in total. I already tried the mango flavour and didn’t quite had a good impression at it but it was a kill joy to not order any cake slices when I am already mentally prepared to have some crepe cakes. So I went ahead and ordered their mango slice anyway. The mango crepe is once again mushy like the first experience that I had. The funny thing is that I experienced the same texture in mango flavour only. I suppose the mango flavours are the only crepe layer which fails to fix as a sturdy slice of cake.

Bandung Cry Dec 16, 2013   (Related Review)

Seriously, what can go wrong with bandung ya? I like bandung whenever I have something with intense flavour because then the sweet finishing will complete the meal, leading to definite satisfaction. The bandung here however, was quite a dissapointment because it was really diluted when I ordered it. And for the price of RM 2.90, I would expect a good bandung if not the best. I'll remember to order this in mamak instead.

Not a winner for chicken rice Cry Dec 16, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Chinese | Kopitiam

Wilson chicken rice is probably one of the oldest chicken rice shop that has branches all over Melaka since a very long time ago. Having the reputation of being the state that sells awesome chicken rice, this surely put some pressure on the business owners of chicken rice shop/ stalls. Having said that, the Wilson Chicken rice doesn't seemed to have been challenged by this. Not the way that I see it at least. With so many other good chicken rice stalls/shops around Melaka, they survived all these years with very low standard of chicken rice. The rice was dry and the aroma was so silent I could barely taste anything.

Good thing for the chicken which thankfully speaks loud enough to salvage the lack of taste in the rice. But having said that, the chicken weren't any bit impressive as well. They were palatable but not great, I really don't recommend this, unless there is one next to your house within walking distance and if you must have chicken rice that day. sad
