Hor Fun - Dry Smile Sep 19, 2013   (Related Review)

Wifey likes her noodles dry, or kon loh. The hor fun in Restoran Soo Kee is quite nice. A bit too dry for my tastes, but that can be solved by asking for a separate bowl of soup. The noodle is done well, silky smooth. There were some pieces of shredded chicken, and topped with some gau choy. Eaten together with some chilli padi and soya sauce, the taste is quite delicious.

Smooth Steamed Chicken Smile Sep 19, 2013

Wifey and I were around the area, and we decided to visit Restoran Soo Kee to tuck into their famous steamed chicken. We order a portion for two people, and I was happily surprised to see that they gave me my favourite drumstick part. The chicken was very smooth and delectable. There were some special oyster sauce mix that was put on top before serving. A good blend of saltiness and sweetness, the chicken was absolutely delicious.

Steamed Fish Smile Sep 19, 2013

A stall famous for its steamed fish head. You could get overwhelmed by the many variety of offerings here, but I would normally just head towards this stall to have a good eating session with wifey. We ordered a steamed fish with ginger. I like the fact that they put blended ginger on the fish when being steamed, as julienned ginger doesn't quite do the trick with it comes to muddy fishy taste. Tender and piping hot, the fish was very fresh. Definitely recommended.

Wan Tan Mee Smile Sep 18, 2013   (Related Review)

My colleague was feeling a bit under the weather, hence she is not able to eat her favourite char koay teow. Instead, she ordered wan tan mee soup, with a twist. The noodle is the wan tan noodle type, done well. She opted for some vegetarian fried balls instead of wan tan. The char siew was just so-so, as I thought it was a bit dry. Some yau mak completes the set. Priced at RM5.50, it was a decent amount to pay.

Fried Mee Smile Sep 18, 2013   (Related Review)

I was hankering for some fried koay teow, but decided to order fried mee instead. I like the yellow noodles, though some might find the alkaline smell a bit off-putting. The fried noodle was done full of wok hei. At first I thought that there were no cockles, however, the whole bunch of them was hiding underneath the noodles. There were also a geneous amount of beansprouts and gau choy. Some fried eggs completes the meal. Slightly salty, but still acceptable.

Priced at RM5, it was well worth the amount paid.
