Tofu in sizzling plate Smile Sep 26, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant

My boyfriend loves to order this whenever we visit 8 Road at Puchong. This dish is basically fried tofu on a sizzling metal hot plate. The dish is served super hot and the tofu and gravy would still be cooking and sizzling on the plate! The gravy is also cooked with minced pork which complements the overall dish. The tofu is crisp fried outside but inside the tofu is still smooth and soft, topped with spring onions smile

Tau Fu Fa (Douhua) Smile Sep 25, 2013   (Related Review)

I was very blatantly surprised to see that Ha Ha Xiu serves Tau Fu Fa as well. We ordered it as our dessert after we finished our pan mee meals. Tau Fu Fa is actually soya custard, which tastes and feels like soyabean pudding. The tau fu fa was amazingly soft yet had a solid texture to its surface, so the top layer did not break that easilly. It was also very sweet and the clear syrup had a slight sweet coconut aftertaste.

These are the drinks that me and the boyfriend ordered for ourselves. We were feeling quite heaty on that particular day so we decided that we needed some cooling drinks.

The black one is cincau drink, which has quite alot of amount of the black jellies. I liked that the overall cincau drink was very herbal-ish, and it was certain that it was not served artificially because at first i thought they would serve us the normal cincau from the Yeo's can drink.

The yellow-ish drink is a mixture of honeydew and crysanthemum. The combination surprisingly works quite well and had a great cooling yet sweet effect on our throats.

Chili pan mee OK Sep 25, 2013   (Related Review)

This is the famous signature pan mee in Ha Ha Xiu. This style of pan mee is so mainstream right now, lol. Served in a dry state with lots of topping of dry chilies and anchovies, they also came together with a fresh half-boiled egg. The yolk is meant to be popped, to allow it to glaze and act as a sticky sauce with the noodles. I liked the noodles alot but sadly the portion is really small sad

Pan mee soup OK Sep 25, 2013   (Related Review)

My boyfriend ordered the pan mee soup with the "tear" type of pan me. This bowl of pan mee soup is actually super large in size. My boyfriend who is a big eater felt quite full after eating this as well. The soup was quite dense and flavorful but I feel like the soup was very MSG-like ._. But no doubt, it tasted good. The addition of the fried spring onions and mushrooms were great to complement the overall dish.
