My friend have always liked the food here. This cafe is opened by China owners.

There were not many people here despite it being 7.30 pm on a Saturday night.

It seems like all Sichuan food here are served in mini works.

Fried Mushrooms in Mini Wok (RM 26) has a wonderful mix of 2 types of mushrooms that are the wood mushrooms that come in strands and also white abalone type mushrooms that are cooked together with chili oil, onion, spring onions and sliced garlic. I love this dish the most.

Stir Fried Wok China Duck (RM 36) is also served in a wok. The duck are a bit too hard for my liking. It is cooked with a lot of red and green chillies and also chilli oil and onions and strips of radish.

We ordered the Sichuan Spicy Fish (RM 43) that is not as spicy as expected by my friend who ate here before. Previously, it was so spicy to the extent that it burns the lips. The fish pieces are inside in a sea of soup. I felt the fish was ok but I guess my friend had higher expectation due to previous eating experience there. The price is also much more expensive that the Sichuan restaurant in SS14.

The Pig Stomach in Mini Wok (RM 30) is one that we had never ordered in the first place but the waitress forgot and still served it to us. Luckily 2 of my friends like to eat pig stomach hence they did not feel the smelly smell of the organ. For me, I like pig stomach cooked in Bak Kut Teh but not this as the horrible smell still lingers.

Our dessert was Deep Fried Yam cooked with Maple Syrup (RM 17.60). The deep fried yam are dipped into iced water to melt the hardened maple syrup so that it tastes better in the mouth. This is the other dish that I liked as the chef has a specific way of making this.

Sichuan food should not be consumed every day due to the load of chilli oil used in the cooking which makes it less healthy.

I was here for my friend's birthday celebration. Since he chose this cake, I surprised him with this matcha cake with red bean. I felt the cake is just normal and not that great. There is a special service provided by the cafe whereby you can inform them and show them the cake receipt and they would bring the cake upstairs and surprise the birthday person and the team of waiters will stand around and sing a birthday song. It is something like what TGI Fridays do but one need not spend that much.

The ambience here is ideal for any special gatherings with friends and family. They have many waiters around and one can call them at anytime. All the waiters are Chinese and there is only 1 Malay. At the ground floor, there is a bakery where the style is somewhat like Tous Les Jous.

We were looking for something light as brunch was too early so I discovered this place in Main Place and the newspaper cuttings on the wall show it is quite famous.

Since I had a craving for Ginger Tang Yuen Tong Sui (RM 5.80), I ordered this but was disappointed when the tong sui came and the sesame balls were too small and the flour was coming out showing that the workmanship is not good.

The Chee Cheong Fan has a few options of yong tau foo at RM 1.80 for vegetables, RM 2.80 for Sotong, RM 0.90 for fishballs etc. I ordered a fishball (RM 0.90), kangkung (RM 1.80),cuttlefish (RM 2.80),  and chee cheong fan all at a total of RM 7 with curry. The chee cheong fan is not bad.

I was here for a company event and had the chance to enjoy the buffet breakfast which has a wide array.

I particularly like the cheese and salad corner with a lot of international toppings. There are also breadsticks and parmesan sticks to go with the imported salad like basil leaves, carrots, small greenish beans, alfalfa. There are different types of dressing like Italian, French, balsamic vinegar, mayo, thousand island etc.

There are many varieties of cereals from chocolate ones to koko krunch, bran and cornflakes.

The half-boiled egg is delicious and watery enough for me. It goes well with the croissant.

The strawberry scones were a big too hard and sweet.

The waffles have a wide variety of toppings. One could also add in blueberry, strawberry, nutella and whatever fruits available such as canned peaches, orange, grapes, blueberry and chocolate rice. There are also a wide range of dried fruits like apricots, dried mangoes and papaya and also walnuts and sunflower seeds.

There are also Japanese food like grilled salmon, miso soup etc.

Soul in Seoul  OK Nov 03, 2015

This time round I am on a verge of food hunting around Sri Petaling. Today I discovered this unique place called Soul in Korea where one restaurant is split into 2 whereby one shop lot has Winter Feel of skis and snow mountains on the wall and the whole wall decked with skis.

On the other hand, the other shop lot has a traditional ambience even to the extent of the whole Korean history and olympics record on the wall, like dining in a museum. The creativity is attributed to the Korean owner.

As usual, I was excited to see Bulgogi Rice Burger (RM 7.50) but the rice turned out to be too soggy and the filling too little. The best rice burger is still from MOS and the last time I ate was at Singapore.

My friend ordered the Vegetarian Bibimbab with Spicy Sauce (RM 15.90) which was not that spicy. The side dishes of kimchi, spicy fish cake, tauge, purple cabbage and also zucchini were quite ok.

The whole meal came up to a mere RM 28.30 which was quite reasonable as it covered 2 pax.
