Soup dumpling Smile Sep 29, 2013   (Related Review)

Another side dish that we have ordered is the Soup dumpling which is also known as Sui Gao. A bowl of this soup dumpling comes with 5 pieces of dumplings. It also comes with a generous amount of seaweed and vegetables to be served with.

The meat dumplings are delicious as it is nicely filled with nicely marinated minced meat which was cooked perfectly. I liked that the skin is thin yet it did not break easily.

The soup was very flavourful and delicious and I could not really detect much MSG in the soup.

Very nice and highly recommended dish, especially when served with their ramen.

This dish costs RM9.80.

Pocket Mouse Smile Sep 29, 2013   (Related Review)

Came by to Penang for a business trip and a friend brought me out for dinner. He recommended this restaurant, which is located talking distance, just behind Eastin Hotel. We ordered the Pocket Mouse as per his recommendations.

This dish is very cute as it really does resemble a mouse with sharp thorns, similar to a certain famous game character of a yellow electric mouse.

This dish is arrived first, and therefore it was our appetizer. It was quite a suitable appetizer as it is filled with lotus paste. The filling was sweet, flavourful but quite hot so I had to wait for it to cool down a little.

Basically quite a good appetizer and it could be eaten as a dessert as well and it costs RM5.50.

Spring Onion Ramen Smile Sep 29, 2013

I ordered the spring onion Ramen as it was among one of the recommended dish by the restaurant. To my surprise, it was served with some smooth peanut sauce which it is optional to be mixed into the noodles. I liked the noodles as although it was a little soft, it somehow managed to retain its springiness.

After adding the peanut sauce and mixing up the noodles with the sauce, the dish was delicious. The zing from the peanut sauce and the unique flavour of the noodles made it very nice.

Although this dish does not have any meat in it, the dish has a unique unchopped deep fried spring onions which goes well with the noodles.

This dish costs RM5.50.

Fried Oyster Smile Sep 01, 2013   (Related Review)

Another Penang's famous dish is the fried oyster which somehow has never failed me before in many different restaurants in Penang. Lucky for me, this is another fried oyster in Penang which is delicious.

The fried oyster here is very juicy and although not as plentiful as some other stalls, the cheaper price makes up for it. I like the fact that the oysters here are really big and juicy. The egg and starch combination is also very delicious. This particular stall utilizes more eggs than starch, which is commendable and definitely much more tastier.

For RM10, it is value for money given the size of the oysters.

Hokkien Mee Smile Sep 01, 2013   (Related Review)

I ordered this dish as this was one of the few noodles selling stalls which opened at 6.30pm while many other stalls were still setting theirs up.

This dish came soon after ordering and it only costs RM3.50. I like the delicious taste and flavour from the broth of this dish. It has a nice mixture of prawn and porky flavour which makes it very addictive that I almost finished the broth. I love how the bihun is cooked, as it is firm yet it is soft enough.

This dish comes with 2 slices of eggs, beansprouts, pork slices and of course prawns. I would highly recommend mixing the chilli paste into the dish as it gives the dish a spicy edge.
It costs RM4.00 for a big delicious bowl of Hokkien Mee here.
