Macau Milk Tea OK Sep 30, 2013   (Related Review)

Macau and Hong Kong are both famed for their awesomely addictive milk tea. And now Tai Lei Loi Kei has bring the popular milk tea to Malaysia too. But I must say it does not taste the same as what I have personally tried in Macau/Hong Kong. It lacks the fragrant tea aroma, it's only sweet and milky. It's still not too bad of a drink just not up to it's reputation. I've had better milk tea and this is not the one.

Hidden in the cluster of BU homes is a small island of shoplots. In the middle of the shoplots is J&D Espresso, one of the only two restaurant establishments in the area. The modern and relaxing interior of J&D Espresso with ample amount of space even for a large crowd

The menu has a wooden varnish with golden embellishment of their logo

The content of the menu was lavished with food and drinks

I ordered the pork burger which came with it's famed chili relish. It was also served with thick chips and fresh garden salad. The pork was juicy, cheesy and meaty. The buns were a slight disappointment because they were a bit dry. I was unaware that there were beetroot served with the burger too as I'm not a fan, if not I wouldn't have ordered it.

Xiao Long Bao OK Sep 29, 2013   (Related Review)

One of the must order dishes when I visit a Shanghai based restaurant is the Xiao Long Bao. This dish arrived around the same time as the noodles, so it was a welcoming sight.

The Xiao Long Bao here is not too bad but it can be better. I love the soup filling and the minced pork in the bao as it was delicious and well flavoured. However, I would prefer a much thinner skin of the bao, as I find it a little too thick for my liking.

A serving comes in 4 pieces and it costs RM6.80.

We ordered the mushroom chee cheong fun as I really like the Ipoh style of chee cheong fun, especially the mushroom sauce variant.

When it arrived, it did not look like the Ipoh style which I have expected. I find that the chee cheong fun noodle was quite sticky and in fact it sticks to each other. I had to separate them apart and then only it can be served with the sauce. The mushroom sauce was also a little too diluted for my liking, although it was salty enough.

All in all, a decent dish although it is not exactly Ipoh style which I have hoped.

This dish costs RM4.50 only.

Iced White Coffee OK Sep 29, 2013   (Related Review)

Categories : Chinese | Kopitiam | Noodles

Being a Ipoh food restaurant, one of the must order drinks is the famous White Coffee. I ordered their iced version and it arrived very fast. I find that the iced coffee here somehow lacks the oomph flavour that I would expect from a Ipoh White Coffee.

This drink was sweet enough and the glass was quite big and so it was not lacking in quantity. I also like that there is a nice layer of froth on top of the drink.

This drink costs RM3.00.
