9/10 from my choosy boyfriend OK Jun 21, 2015

Actually, there are a lot of people there. I suppose I was going to wait about 20 mins, but well, it reach in 10 mins times, and the cha siu rice in 20 mins time. Fast service, the porridge and fried rice reach half way while we having our dessert, which is just nice. And despite so many people, the aircond still manage to calm us down, haha.

Mango Loh芒果捞 RM7.60
THis is the 2nd time I ordered this, cold ice mango cube and sagu at the bottom. Pleasantly sweet and cold make me refreshing!

Peanut Butter花生糊 Rm 3.40
Nice when serving hot, and the colour is so peanut, I actually feel weird saw its colour, looking very thick, look just like butter jam, but well, when I taste it, the taste is just nice, sweet and the thickness just like sesame loh.

Porridge皮蛋瘦肉粥 Rm 4.30
conventionally delicious, and I like it serving hot! Small portion like the portion during dim sum. Fulfilling for me cause I actually a bit tired to eat just now. Fried Rice with ChAshu 叉烧炒饭 Rm 12.80

THis is the reason my bf rated it 9/10, I even put 3 pics of this. First, the portion is big enough and fulfilling. Then, it's tastly, the chaxiu look like bacon is succulent, when balanced ratio of oil and protein tissue, you will craved for more!

A close up look. It actually serving with a home-made chiili sauce, but we both didn't try it, cause we just not used to dip with chilli.

FOr Rm 12.80 , the bowl has like 3 or 4 slides of bacon, each slide of bacon is well portionate with oil and protein.

The outlook of the restaurant. In SS2!
Supplementary Information:
Surcharge 6% GST is applied, hence our meal is RM 30.40 for 4 dishes.

Important tips:!!! The waiter will serve you wet tissue once you seated, if you dont wanna use, keep it until the meal end, and pass to cashier, coz towel is charge at Rm 0,30 per unit =.=

Our food is total Rm 47.50 include 3 rices, and 2 beverages.

Rice = Rm1.50 a bowl
Yap Zha Guai = Rm 2
Beverage = Rm 2
Lettuce with osyter sauce =  Rm 8
Bak Kut Teh = Rm 15 per person , so Rm 30

rice , alternatively, you can opt for oily rice.

Cute little dog I dont know the species name, but his eyes is literally puppy's eyes! Own by the store owner. and the store actually run by a family.

THe first dishes that serve on our table. The gao zha gui is actually a bit sweet  i dun like it. But the soup is flavourful!!

The store just located in seapark, next to the famous nasi lemak bumbung.

Lettuce is osyter sauce (Rm 8), top on with some fried garlic. YUm yum!! One of the best I had!! Nor it's too oily, a bit watery, but just nice!

the freaking Rm 30 Bak Kut Teh

unlike the usual Bak Kut Teh that has button mushroom, this one replaced with Shiitake mushroom. We 2 eater chose the one without internal organ, stomach or anything, just the pork meat. It come with variety of meat from different part. Like 花肉, or  just 肉, then肥又肉。

The bak kut teh soup is a bit salty to taste.

Otherwise, it would be a pleasant experience to eat here!

Kayak Cafe Kemaman Smile May 19, 2015

Hi Kemamanian!! There is a new floating cafe opening here in Kemaman!! Just newly open for around 1 week only. I have been there for twice. I am so excited , feel like want to blurt everything now. ~~ But let my pics talk us =D

First glance at the restaurant. Purposely took this angle so that the entire ...roof can be shoot in.

The food that we order. BTW, the hot chocolate is not in the current menu. CY just ordered it. Plain water is for free of course, and bottomless. And for 2 times our patronise there, no GST was charged.

Carbonara Rm 13.30

Carbonara always my favourite. Not that watery, but a bit sticky. I like how it garnish with mushroom! We used like 5 mins to take photo before try on it. End up, the carbonara was a little chill, personally feel that the taste would be more flavourful while eating hot. Overall, it's pleasantly common delicious.

One of the reason that I like here, because the carbonara here is cheaper Rm 7 than one of the restaurant in Kemaman. Though both were equally good, and same portion =D

Marinara Chicken Pasta RM 15.30

Marinara refer to Marinara Sauce, an Italian sauce made with tomato, garlic, herbs and onion. (source from Wikipedia) .

Quattro Cheese Salami Pizze Rm24.30

The 4 cheeses are mozzarella cheese, gouda, , Cheddar and parmesean. topping on Beef salami strip. The combination of all the cheeses and the marinara sauce is really yum! Like taste heavily flavourful. But the crust of the pizza is quite hard. Even biscuit is crunchier than the crust. Later on I just found out that I can actually choose the hand tossed which is like the pizza hut one.

This one is just to show how thin is the hard crust ~~ LOL

Special menu of the day. Strawberry chocolate pie!!!

I usually go to fridge to see what is the dessert of the day. Normally, just 1 type of dessert.

and make new friends too! Meet Peeboo and Shane Leong(right). He is a tattoo artist in Kemaman. If you want to see his masterpiece, you can go to @shanetattoostudio in instagram. His drawing is quite complex, complicated, and gothic and cute!

Okay, now the environment of the restaurant.

Open kitchen style, LIke!

Just notice there is a menu on board. I usually just order from menu booklist. The right side one is the fridge that I went to see what's the dessert available.

Floating restaurant. Literally FLOATING, cause the restaurant will sway when huge wave or when it's going to rain soon. Really like the environment of the restaurant. Chilly and breezy environment.

Word from Chef Ahmad

Chef Ahmad has like 15 years experience in cooking. This is the 8th restaurant he has been work for, and he previously help to start-up a new restaurant , kind of like consultant, and give training to the employee also.

Chef Ahmad with the modern gas-pizza oven. This is where our pizza was burnt before it served!

I didnt eat the lamb, but he just being friendly show me what's is signature in Kayak Cafe, and how this were home-made. The dishes that he recommended? Combo Jerk (Rm24.30)

Verdict:

Generally, this restaurant would be a new chillax point for me in Kemaman, as there is really not much eatery at night, Most of the time, it would be limited to either choice A or B, and that's all. The opening of this new restaurant open a more choice for us while chillax or YUm Cha. Serving Italian cuisine. Would recommend to add on more snack to munch.

Price range from Rm 3 - 25 per person.

Like when I just ordered the snack, it cost me Rm 4.

When I ordered spagetti and pizza, it cost me Rm 26 to share with my partner.

Location:

Situated along Taman Rekreasi Bakau Tinggi Kemaman, keep left before you enter the bridge to Kampung Bukit Kuang.

Operation hour

5 pm - 12am

Another side that serve local & western dishes

I am seriously getting excited while composing this. Let me start off with something negative, it cost us Rm 31.70 for the entire meal with 2 Teh Ais included.
FIrst time eating on table, not literally, but with a layer of aromatic banana leaf to serve it. Seriouslly, I don't find it any different eating on banana leaf or plate. But there is one moment, I accidentally poke the leaf, and a smell like mint, pleasantly waft into my nose.
Serving with 4 vegetarian dishes including yogurt cucumber salad, cabbage, koottu, and okra (lady's finger). Fried crackers knwon as Pa padum, and fried chicken (choose between fish or chicken) in huge portion.
This is for what Banana Leaf Rice, we also ordered Rasem and Moru (in Tamil) aka Lassi. Generally, all the dishes are heavily flavourful, it was not only tantalizing your taste bud, but your 5 senses. But none of this dishes are super spicy, so I can still go on with it, but teh ais is sickly sweet, recommend not to order sweet drink when you go with this, because it make me full at the half way of eating. Would rather drink plain water to pair with it, since I have rasem and moru already.
The moru is enchancing the appetite as ti taste sour, but rasem also sour what. The rasem unlike the typical one (where you can see through the bottom of the soup), the rasem here is thick, taste nice, but still prefer the typical one.

Eating in open air can be quite irritating, luckily there are air-conditional room to fit their patrons.
Verdict:
This restoran is quite desolate, but it's easily available on any road navigation apps. Damage RM 31.70 for this tantalizing gastronomical experience, their portion is huge it last 5 hours for me. Would still coming once in every blue moon!
