I went there twise actually. I like their mango titbit, well season. And now only by looking htis pic, I realise that the mango colour might different each time.

Mango Titbit Rm 4.50

Lala Chong is famous for serving seafood. However, our family do not fond of seafood so much, some of us has mild alleargy towards seafood. Hence we did not ordered dish like crab, and prawn.

Asparagus Rm 20

Ordered Lala in Lala Chong, hehe. Rm 28. Looking fresh , but I didnt taste it, hence not commentary on this dishes =D

Spring Chicken 童子鸡, Rm 30/chicken

It's only serve whole, half is not available as it's a small type of chicken. Their taste is below my expectation. It's dry, without any special sauce, also it is not that salty.

Steam  Baung Fish Rm 46

ordinary tastly, not too dried. Not to say well season, but just ok ok lo.

The fish here ranging from Rm 4 - 16 per 100g,  with total 12 types of choices. See the pic below.

NOt service charge, GST charge available.

As title mention, this is my fourth or fifth time there already. Hence the famous food here please refer to the  KTZ food review from Maple.

This raya, my family travel to KL and I brought them here, since most of the eatery are closed during the raya. The crowd nonethelss is crowded as always.

Since all the food that I ordered is same as previous, these were the different one.

Yeong Chew Fried Rice Rm 9.30
Normal only.

Barley with Gingko Nuts Hot Rm 3.40

serving hot, smooth and think with soya bean taste, but not too sweet. I guess this restaurant simply know what kind of taste to suit Malaysian. I don't like it if it is too sweet.

FOrgot the name Rm 6.90
I didnt get to drink this as it is cold, and I have my monthly problems on the day.

However, the serving time this round is longer than usual. Usually, it took about 5-10mins to serve. this time it is 20 mins. Perhaps this happen during holiday, travelling season I assume.

Price wise, it is standard, worth the price, but my family members, esp my siblings can't accept the way I said it is standard price. TO them, the price of having dessert is equipvalent to heavy meal already.
Supplementary Information:
GST is excluded from the price.

Always crowded with people, unless not during paek hour.

Literally Thai Syok (太爽)! Smile Jul 13, 2015

Categories : Thai | Restaurant | Steamboat/Hotpot | Seafood

Thanks to Open Rice, I got the exlusive invitation for Food Tasting. Not only the food provide you the sensational experience, the funky grafitti impress me at the first glimpse, feel like this place is so young.

Thai Syok located at the basement level of Wisma Central, Jalan Ampang which is 2 minutes walk from KLCC. It is easily accessible by means of driving or public transport too! Scroll to the bottom of this post to getting there.

The Thai delicacies that we tried.

There are too many Thai restaurants that decorated in such a way that is fine-dining ambience, luxurious. Jeffred Tham, the managing director of Thai Syok Authentic Thai Street Food restaurant, aimed not only to provide a cozy, spacious envinronment. He also tried to bring the restaurant patrons to Thai.

The surronding here resemblance some tourism hotspot in Bangkok. Striking, Bold in colour. These features was found on the grafitti wall, the tableware, up to the cute colourful lowered tables and benches!!

(If you been to Bangkok or Hatyai, the tourism places there were so artistic, aesthetically looking. Some demure, and some other bold but all are colourful, you can found this cultural even in their toilet! No kidding)

Now, let's look at our main focus here, Shall we?

Those delicacies that we tried on the day weren't the typical Tom Yam soup , Pandan chicken, red rubies and jackfruit, mango sticky rice. However, trying these really an eye-opener to me!

Thai Tamarind Squid RM 19

Freshly squid were first fried before enrich with the authentic thai seasoning including Tamarind, sour sauce and some other thai herbs.

Looking appetizing. But that's not all, it wow you more the moment you savour it!

Hot & Sour Crispy Duck Salad RM21.50

This is litterally spicy. So you might need to order "Firefighter" (a beverage there) to cool you down. The crispy and crunchy duck salad, I thought would be hard, but surprisingly it come out with crispy outlayer, tender interior, and taste spicy hot when you savour it!

You rarely found this in any other Thai restaurant, so you should definitely ordered this while visitting here. Provided that you can withstand the spiciness lar.

Minced Chicken with Holy Basil & Steam rice RM 16

If you were a Thai food lover, you will know that Thai usually used mince pork to pair with steam rice. However, Thai Syok serves Pork Free food. I really amazed how resemblance of this dish with the Minced Pork. Up to this point, I trust that Thai Syok serving great food, and taking care of every little single details.

Fried Rice with blue crab meat

Even though this is the normal fried rice here. I found it quite comfortable having this with other spicy and sour Thai delicacies. Probably because I cant having too much spicy, and I was so hungry that time.Garnish ed with fried shallot and dried chillies, giving it extra thai fragrance.Whatever is it, I can tell even the fried rice is above average.

Coconut Pudding (Tako) 6 pieces for RM9

Since the food served were 2 people's portion, so as the Tako was serving 4 too. Amid all the spicy, Thai-style, sweet and sour food, this just coming at the right time. It is so refreshing! I like to eat creamy, milky stuff. But this Tako is just nice, if you have been trying those roadside Tako(which I think the coconut is not fresh), this is the Top notch I would said. I found it delighting to have jicama (or benkoang) that giving a crispy texture.

And not forgetting the drinks. Pandan and Lemongrass Tea is normal. The "Syok Experience" (RM 7) really Syok!! Having freshly squizee lime, sprinter, sugar to mix it all. Oh yea, please stir it before you drink it.

Also, you get to borrow umbrella with Rm 10 deposit. So considerate , kan? Thanks to my partner-in-crime, Ivy Liew for having this together!!!

Oh yea, this restaurant welcome Muslim friends too!

"We only picked Halal certified chicken and drygoods,

brand new kitchen utensils and equipment

to ensure it's not storing any halal item. "

taken from Thai Syok Facebook Page.

Foods that I wish to try in the future

1. Tom Yam chicken soup

2. King Rama with Fried Rice. (serving only in Thai Syok)

3. Fire-fighter

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant

Thanks to The Butterfly Project Malaysia, I got the invitation to food review at Coco Ichibanya in One Utama!! I actually got quite excited because I have not trying Japanese cuisine for sometimes. I also didn't know that Curry Rice is one of the Japanese food.

The front outlook of the restaurant. The location is quite hidden actually, it's in the new wing of One Utama, beside the Breadstory, you can easily reach here from the LG center concourse area in New Wing =DIt's beside the Bread Story o!

Being a curry house, there are different level of spiciness too! Being a standard one , Level 1 (mild) to Level 5 (the most spicy one! )

Beef Yakiniku Curry Rm 23

When this Beeft Yakiniku Curry first served on the table, I was not really impress with it. First because it apperance doesn't look appealing, however it end up this is the second dish I like the most! The standard curry is just a normal taste curry, in which if you are not a spicy person, you can opt for this. (Although I didnt know how they judge the standard of "standard", but it's milder or as mild as Level 1 spiciness.)

The beef itself is tender, cut into thin strip, and stir-fried. Its delightly flavourful, and I like how they fried this with sesame! The overall of this dishes is just awesome!

Would recommend you to pair with level 2 or above curry spiciness. The beef itself is delightful, but the curry is too mild for liking.

Pork Cutlet Omelette Curry RM 26

Pork Cuttlet Curry Rm 21

This would be a more fulfilling dishes, as it has egg (protein) and big chunks of pork cutlet! Compare to other dishes, this one come with less surprise. It is still delicious, tender cutlet serving together with milk omelette that aim to keep you full. I focus more on the curry itself. Pairing with Level 1 spiciness. People who do not eat spicy at all could have try level 1.

Wagyu Beef Steak Curry Rm 48

Aside from a bit undercook, the beeft steak is tender, and it's the well seasoned. If you were a beef Lover, you can either opt for Wagyu Beef Steak or Beef Yakiniku!

Creamed Mushroom Omelette Curry

Pairing with Level 3 Spiciness, I drank water at the first try. I guess I would cough more, and feeling hot if I continue to consume more. Ironically, this appear to be my top favourite of the night. I knew this would be prefect of me by pairing with level 2 spiciness.

However mushroom and creamy are great combo, I try to omit the curry while taking this. The curry would be too much for me to handle soon.

The creamy mushroom remind me of carbonara. It is well-cooked, it remain juicy inside, without absorbing much of the creamy sauce outside, but the hot serving of it, in creamy & mushroom combo are just prefect. You get to try the juicy of mushroom and the creaminess at the same time, just oh-so-heaven.

Grilled Squid with Mayonnaise Curry Rm 24

Serving with Level 4 spiciness. I do not try this at all. For I already reaching the limit at Level 3. For those who like to goes up to this level, would advise you to get a cup of milk beside you =D

Smoked Salmon Salad Rm 10

I would definitely order this when I come here next time!! To be frank, I cant distinguish whether the salmon piece is smoked or not, but seeing the salmon on top of it, already trigger my desire to finish eat. The dressing was Goma (sesame sauce)

Bacon and Pumpkin Salad Rm 8

The bacon just perfectly smoked, tender and the pumpkin is soft.Considering the considerable amount of green vege, the about of bacon could be more. You can opt for Shoyu (Soysauce) or Goma (Sesame) sauce for this.

On the day itself, we also get to try the drink of our choice.

Strawberry Milkshake Rm 11

Pineapple Juice Rm 9

Strawberry Soda Rm 9

I would go for Strawberry Soda which is a bit gas-y, because the Strawberry Milkshake is too icy-cold for me.

Overall, it was a pleasant experience having dinner here. The food is delicious, and exquisite to some extend, price is standard.People, try your spiciness level here, and tell me which level that you can go.

Other menu that I feel like want to eat
1.Grilled Pork and Kimchi Curry Rm 20

2. Pork Shabu Curry RM 20

3.Japanese style mushroom spagetti Rm 19

4. Mushroom curry rice Rm 19

Categories : Malay | Restaurant | Mixed rice

we went there just a day before Malays start their Holy Ramadhan Fasting, going with my colleague was fun. We cracked a lot of joke that day.

THis is totally a Malay shop.Serving mixed rice, and also fried rice, it's delicious and spicy at the same time

Nasi Goreng Meranti RM 9
come with Hot Dog, Keropok(Fish cracker), several prawn and special sauce.

Nasi GOreng Thai RM 7.50
Basically, all the food here were spicy, you can see from the colour of each food, burning hot red~~ Luckily, the spiciness is still bearable. I like the chicken cube in this nasi goreng! Like satay, a bit salty.

Nasi GOreng Pattaya, not sure about the price, around Rm 6-7

Tom Yam ayam with plain white rice, price about Rm 7-8

Initially I ordered this as I am a Tom yam person, but this tomy am is too choking, I couldn't take it. In the end, i switch this one with Nasi Goreng Thai with my colleague. thank you! he is being so sweet, and be there to help me! The signature dish on the banner. Menu:FOodMenu: Beverage and snack

Mixed rice, but I dont take it.
