One Imperial Porridge Smile Jan 27, 2014
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood | Porridge

One Imperial Porridge is a Chinese restaurant in Setia Alam. The restaurant is famous for its steamed snakehead fish.

The centerpiece is the Signature Snakehead Fish. The steamed fish fillets are served with shredded ginger, fried garlic and Chinese parsley.

The snakehead fish is quite smooth and fresh. Although its taste is quite plain by itself, it goes well with the soy sauce and fried garlic.

Chong Qing Xiao Chu Smile Jan 27, 2014
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Steamboat/Hotpot

Chong Qing Xiao Chu is located at Gurney Paragon.

Our dinner today is Chongqing Hot Pot.

The Pork Slices are among the best I ever tasted! The meat is a good mixture of lean and fatty sections. In less than a minute, the thin cuts of pork are quickly cooked in the simmering broth.

The Clear Broth is not as plain as one will expect. It is rich in chicken flavor and quite appetizing. It also has a mild hint of natural sweetness from goji berries.

Myeong Dong Smile Jan 27, 2014

Categories : Korean | Stall / Warung

Myeong Dong is a Korean snack stall in Gurney Plaza.

A novelty snack at Myeong Dong is the Almond Egg Muffin which comes in a box of three. It is a sealed sandwich of muffin-like pastry with a poached egg and almond slices in between. The delightful texture of the pastry is appetizing.

There are other recommended i

tems on the menu such as the Topokki. This is likely our choice during the next visit to Myeong Dong.

Jumbo Delicious Smile Jan 27, 2014

Categories : Western variety | Restaurant | Steaks / Chops

Jumbo Delicious is a Western restaurant in Sungai Ara. They don't call themselves "jumbo" for nothing; the food portions are quite huge relative to the price.

We were told that their Jumbo Chicken Chop is popular, so we decided not to miss it. True to its word, the portion is really jumbo! The chicken matches well with the brown sauce.

Jumbo Delicious is liberal when it comes with vegetable garnishes. I am talking real vegetables: carrots, asparagus, broccoli, green peas, baby corn. You don't see this very often except in high-end restaurants.

In conclusion, do drop by Jumbo Delicious if you are looking for a special treat to your hungry stomach. The price is quite reasonable if consider the portion that you are enjoying.

Thai A-Loi Smile Jan 24, 2014
Categories : Thai | Restaurant | Seafood | Noodles

Thai A-Loi is a Thai restaurant at Bayan Baru. Although Thai A-Loi is more like a shack, the fixtures in the dining area are not too shabby at all.

As the restaurant proprietor recommended, we ordered the signature dish: Thai Lemak Laksa. Unlike local laksa, the Thai version is very rich in coconut milk. With the addition of fish, the gravy has a rich, savory flavor. Be warned that this dish is very spicy, but I find the intense heat is highly delectable.

Since it is a hot day, the dining section feels warm and uncomfortable. The restaurant proprietor mentioned that he is planning to install some roof sprinklers to mitigate the situation.
