Yeap Noodles @ Lebuh Chulia Cry Dec 30, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

The unique selling point for Yeap Noodles is definitely none other than their flavored noodles. There are a total of eight types of flavored noodles available, namely Original, Soy Sauce flavored noodles, Spinach flavored noodles, Carrot flavored noodles, Peppermint flavored noodles, Oat flavored noodles, Chili flavored noodles and Seaweed flavored noodles. However, customers are not allowed to pick the flavored noodles they preferred and instead, everything has been meticulously paired according to them. I found the foods were very disappointing and I doubt that I will be going back for a second visit.

Big Ben Breakfast Cry Dec 24, 2013
Categories : Western variety | Stall / Warung

Big Ben Breakfast Set (Rm 7.50) comes with 2 slices of Toasts, heavily slathered with Butter, a Sunny side-up, a halved Tomato, a slice of Bacon, Ham, Sausage and some Baked Beans. If you must know.... Yes, it's an ordinary breakfast set where you can get it done at your own kitchen. It was a huge surprise that they actually poached the egg using oil, the result is a smooth sunny side-up with a runny egg yolk. Good to taste but bad for health. The Baked Beans were literally "swimming" in a lake of oil. My only relief was their Chicken Sausage, which was quite good. Nevertheless. I thought it was just a very normal breakfast set and definitely not recommended.

Quay Cafe Cry Dec 24, 2013
Categories : Malaysian variety | Café | Noodles | Vegetarian

A worth-mentioning dish will be their Japanese Bento Set (Rm 15) which comes with Noodles (dressed with Japanese Soy Sauce and Sesame Oil), Deep Fried Sweet Potato (tossed with Plum Powder), Seaweed Soup with White Radish, Japanese Sushi and Konyaku (Japanese Jelly). I was expecting the Noodles to be rather bland and mild in taste but to my surprise, it was a tad salty! On the other hand, the soup was little less successful for being too dull and monotonous. Less impressive as compared to other vegetarian eateries nearby the vicinity.

For a touch of sweet festivity, Gartien is taking on Chinese New Year with panache, offering their fresh and locally made Pineapple Cakes with a whole new artistic design, making the box of Pineapple Cakes a perfect gift for this auspicious occasion. The beautifully designed gift box comes in red and gold colors with an extra element of the very elegant flower- Peony/ Mudan Flowers (牡丹花) which resembles prosperity as well as adding a festive and welcoming touch. To further adhere to the theme, Chinese Ink Painting of the flowers can also be found on the individual packaging.

Next Stop Cry Dec 24, 2013
Categories : Western variety | Stall / Warung | Seafood | Burgers / Sandwiches

Next Stop, a seafood/ fast food concept food outlet tucked within the building of 1st Avenue Mall which is quite eye-catchy to many due to its intriguing and attractive red bus design of the kiosk. Inspired by the Fish N Chips culture in England, Next Stop ought to serve simple yet delectable Fish N Chips, along with some of their signature nibbles; also, their Sorbets are something to die for. Free wifi and seats are available, making it a good place for tired shoppers to have a quick recharge or grab a quick snack to kill time before the movie starts. Next Stop is located at 8th floor (Cloud 8), right next to Stick Arts and opposite to Red Box Karaoke. Overall, I thought some of the dishes we had were just mediocre and some need some refinements, nevertheless, there are still some worth-trying dishes like their Crunchy Squid, Tempura Salmon Fingers and Sorbets.
