Mee Udang review by Tasteiest.Com Smile Apr 08, 2014

Salwa Mee Udang located just next to “Lover Bridge”, but sadly “Lover Bridge” was now closed due to poor condition.
We ordered one plate of Mee Udang only as we know the price is expensive and we just finish Balik Pulau Laksa .

y the time we reach at around 5pm, chef is yet to be ready and we are the first customer as well. So we walk around the beach and taking some photo, nice view in this fishing village with a lot of boats.
Salwa Mee Udang not only serving Mee Udang instead they served Kari Ketam, Udang, pari…and a lot more, more toward Chu Cha style but famous for their Mee Udang.

When the Mee Udang served, we will surprise and asking each other where is the prawn? After some digging and finding we just realize they put prawns under the mee, why not on top for good presentation? Weird.

We found 6 big white prawns and arrange it nicely for photographing purpose, else our reader sure curve why we eat mee kosong. Right?

Ah' Basri Satay by Tasteiest.Com Smile Mar 07, 2014

Finally our order is here, 2xBeef , 2xChicken , and 2xSquid with satay source.
Beef is very soft and delicious, Chicken is normal and a little bit hard, nothing special.
Squid is the best, marinated with homemade source and grill to perfection. Must TRY.

Lamb Satay Set Meal , the lamb is quite tough and it more like eating chewing gum. Not recommended.

Star of the day, Prawn Satay Set Meal RM12.90. Best of the best and it is the most expensive Satay serve in Ah’ Basri Restaurant.
Even though it was expensive but value for money as the prawn is big and shell is removed.

Start our buffet with Thai healthy starter Thai Miang Kham, my all time favorite where dried shrimp, lemon, peanut, chili, fried coconut, ginger and onions mix together with sweet sauce and Kaduk Leaf. I use to enjoy Miang Kham at Khun De Thai Restaurant but sadly this Thai delicacy is no longer in their menu. Luckily I got the chance to eat it in Eastin Hotel, i truly enjoy eating the combination of fresh ingredients together with the sweet sauce, it taste sweet and sauteed with crunchy texture.

Carnation Bah Kut Teh is one of the famous Bak Kut Teh in Penang where it has been in business for more than 20+ years, whenever you pass by here you can smell the fragrance of spices and herbs generated from the long hour boiling soup.
Bak Kut Teh mean pork bone soup, it a mixture of various herbs and spices boiled together with pork meat, bone and organs to create a very rich flavor soup.

Bah Kut Teh that consist of not only pork meat instead it has vegetable, mushroom, meat ball and taufu. All this ingredients cook together for long hour to create sweetness in the soup, the soup is extremely flavorful and delicious, even taking lot of it but you won’t feel thirsty which mean that not much Ajinomoto in it, furthermore the pork meat is very soft.

Yummy Yummy, Hameed Mee Sotong is our top pick for Mee Sotong in Penang, it simply the best and my all time favorite.
It taste sweet and sauteed, always "tambah sotong", every spoon also full with sotong is my favorite. although the environment is not so friendly, pretty hot but it definitely worth it. parking is another problem but try to be there before 11.30am then you can easily find a good parking spot.
