Satay Celup Cry May 29, 2013
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Steamboat/Hotpot

Been listening how great was the Satay Celup in Melacca recently so it was in my list of food to eat when I made my 1 day trip there. Arrive there around 6pm and was feeling amazing from the stretch of lines waiting. Looking good and the people who waited there seems to be mostly youngsters and listening from their accent seems to be from KL as well. So we waited around 45 mins there and finally there is a table for us.

After clearing the table they bring us a pot that actually look like above. Its still acceptable knowing they did not change from the last customer or they have recycle it but we are totally fine with that. Then there comes some bread and cucumbers.

Not to comment the freshness of the food there and soon the pot begin to boil like thick lava.

We just chuck all things in like a big pot. The taste i find nothing special. Its just like any lok lok truck can find anywhere with additional Satay Sauce added. There is no any special flavor I can taste and despite the amount of photograph they have at the wall and also from people telling us how good it was. To me its overrated. If I am looking for a good atmosphere for spending a long night with friends, it might be not bad. As for the taste wise.. Sorry not for me.

Small cake~ Cry Jul 05, 2012

Been seeing lots of great reviews and very nice pictures by fellow Openricer and so happen went to Tokyo street today, decide to give it a try. shocked
Just So-so

Just So-so

Bought 2 dessert for Rm4.50 each. The first was Marjolaine. I find it just so-so and its dry. When eating it, can feel there are several layer of different texture in between. Definitely can taste almond and chocolate cream. Other than that, Its just another piece of cake for me.

The second piece was a rich in chocolate and top with a Macaroon cake. There was a little accident and the macaroon fell off but still can taste it. It is similar to those rich chocolate cake (minus the macaroon) you can eat at any buffet restaurant out there. Overall, Kinda disappointed it din't happen to what I am exacting it to be apart from the nice design of the cake.

The greatest part of the cafe is the decor they have. Glass house looks great no matter from inside or outside. Coffee taste is acceptable.

My BurgerLab experience OK Nov 15, 2012

Since ages ago people are bragging about how great the burger and with much curiosity, I went there last night.

The moment we arrive at the door step, its like the shop been overly crowded with customers. The line to cashier was till the door. We lined for like 20mins just to get our order in and waited for around another 50 mins just to get our burger out. The plus is that the people there are friendly and the soda is refillable~ So while waiting, we just drink up cups after cups of soda.
A

A

Initially we ordered take away because the restaurant is really packed and wasn't expected to wait for that long. After when our burger finally arrived, we have found our seats tongue

Well about the burger wise, to me its like nothing too special about. Well of course wasn't comparing to 'm*D' but its less that juiciness in it. As i have took the set menu, so the soda+herb fries was another Rm6 to the meal. So the total cost for the night is Rm15 for the A+ burger and Rm6 for the other stuff.

During the wait, just checked out the environment of the shop, It was surprisingly clean as their staff always on the run to clean tables after customers left. The only thing is their tap was broken and we are to use wet tissue to wipe hand shocked

Overall, after spending the 1hr + of waiting time and the total bill for that burger, I don't suppose its worth the money afterall. sad

Spending per head: Approximately RM20(晚餐)

Hokkaido Cake  OK Jul 05, 2012
Categories : Bakery / Cake / Kuih

Been wondering what so great of this Hokkaido cake ever since someone telling me that its so soft and fluffy. Looking at price tag and thinking of if its good to spend the money for such a small cake.

My review here will start with the service attitude of the waitress there. As a normal scene at this modern century, people just couldn't left their phone aside even before, when and after serving customer. My arrival was standing there staring at the Hokkaido cake and she just press away. Until I ask for the cake and she was kinda want to answer me and finally I bought it. She straight away continue with the SMS or whatever. Erm I suppose my Rm16++ for the cake is including her salary not ?~huffy

Well continue with the cake,

I bought the Strawberry flavour cake and look at the cream! Its bursting outmad

To be frank, its really the first time eating such cake that are soft and light. The cake it self is worth a praise. The disappointment for me is the cream flavour. I think the cream tasted too artificial. The strawberry scent was somehow I think was like 'plastic' and creamy.

Apart from the terrible service behaviour, the cake was fine except for the cream. Might try the vanilla flavour someday I guess.tongue
