Pasta is a must have item while dining in an Italian restaurant. Try the Linguine con Gamberetti. With just a few ingredients in hand – prawns, garlic, chili, parsley and extra virgin olive oil, the chef whips this up tastefully. Each strand of linguine envelops the freshness and flavours of prawns while the fresh and succulent prawns add to the wonders of this dish.

Tosca is one of the best Italian restaurants around in the Klang Valley. Not only it serves good food, it also gives a great cosy ambience overlooking the swimming pool.

Pizza lovers should have the Bresaola e Rucola. The thin crust pizza is loaded with paper thin air dried beef, garlic paste and lots of rocket salad and mozzarella cheese. However, it is a little salty perhaps due to the abundance of cheese on the pizza. Nonetheless, it taste great with the beef and garlic paste and possess a hint of freshness, thanks to the rocket salad.

Specialises in Balinese cuisine, The Uma is the best place to have the varieties of dishes in the cuisine. It also offers a great dining experience with its tastefully decorated interior.

As Balinese cuisine offers loads of spices and sambals, wash them down with Es Campur Bali with jackfruit, cendol, cincau, nata de coco and coconut meat in milk syrup. It is very palatable as it’s not too sweet unlike the overly sweetened ais kacang we have elsewhere. If you like something to warm the tummy, the Bubuh Kacang Ijo is the one for you. Using green bean, it is cooked into porridge-like texture with ginger, gula bali and topped with coconut milk.

The Uma Restaurant is one my favourite restaurant. Not only it serves great pork choices, it has other delightful dishes too.

Each individual or group sets are served with the main dishes of your choice and side dishes such as sate lilit (fish satay), jukut urab (mixed vegetables salad that consists of long bean, kangkung and bean sprouts with shredded coconut), plecing kangkung (kangkung salad tossed with sambal), kentang goreng (spiced potato fries), shredded chicken, sambal tomat (sambal with tomatoes) and sambal mbe (sambal with fried shallots and chilies). All those dishes in different colours sit prettily in rattan food trays and banana leaves, making it a feast to the eyes.

What if you’re having a gathering and wanted to try more dishes in the menu? Order the Paket (for 4 persons). It consists of three main dishes, seven side dishes and three sambals. Sounds good? Wait till you hear what’s in store for you. The popular main dishes are bebek mengoreng (crispy fried duck), iga base kalas (pork ribs curry) and pesan be pasih (grilled toman fish in banana leaf). The side dishes are the usual ones mentioned above plus sate eleng asem (assem pork satay), urutan (Balinese pork sausage) and an additional sambal kicap manis.

Usually you’ll get black pepper sauce, mushroom sauce and brown sauce elsewhere but here, don’t even bother to ask for them as its signature killer sauce steals the limelight of those three sauces combined. It pairs perfectly well with the Australian rib eye with its sweet yet slightly sourish and spicy taste which makes it a delightful bite. It is also served with vegetables and a big portion of home-made mashed potatoes.Wash it down with a few beers.
