It was a nice afternoon taking a casual stroll at The Mines Shopping Mall. There have been quite a number of new additions to the shop lots here especially if F&B is of concerned tongue So here we are, dropping by Yum! Kopi for a quick grab of lunch.

The theme was white which reminded me of Gardens Lifestyle Café. But, the customer service was a huge let down. Not sure if it’s due to lack of staff or newly operating, we need to wait at least 30 mins for the food to be served. Mine was lucky as it was noodle but not so for my friend, hehe tongue He was already drooling at that time, hehe .. >.<

The menu itself was pretty intriguing. With Richard Chaplin to be seen tongue.

After browsing through, I ordered a bowl of Kimchi Korean Noodle. It was served hot but got cold very fast due to the air-conditioned surrounding. The noodle was springy, with savory soup, which I think is bit salty to my liking. The vegetable were crunchy with slices of crabstick and Abalone mushroom were soaked well in the soup. I actually was hoping to have a taste of authentic Kimchi soup, but that’s fine.

In between, I enjoyed my Kiwi Shake. It’s cooling, sourish and tad diluted. It would taste better if the Kiwi were added adequately. But I don’t actually able to taste any milky sensation as it was named “Shake”. Guess I just go along with it.

Then his Chicken Chop rice arrived in the end. But we were quite bewildered as isn’t chicken chop meant to be fried crispy chicken? Well, since we are rushing for some events, we just stay put with it. Lucky thing was the meat was tender and decently flavoured. Coming alongside was a piece of popiah and some cucumber to accompany the simple meal.

In a nutshell, I think there is still a lot more room for their improvement. For the time being, I just enjoyed the scenery of the nearby indoor lake, where you could catch a glimpse of cruise passing by occasionally.

Restoran Puti Bungsu Batam  Cry Aug 07, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Indonesian | Restaurant | Seafood

Puti Bungsu Batam is a restaurant that serves Indonesian cuisine. It’s quite a hidden restaurant, tucked away at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, not known to me, till one invitation from my acquaintances.

Overall, I don’t really enjoy their food, not sure is it due to my personal taste, or just that Indonesia food is just not my thing. Anyway, food experience is meant to be shared regardless how it appeals to different people. ^^

One unique thing that got me startled is the way the foods are served. Upon arrival of customers, the staff would dish out all the many kinds of food that are available and then are laid onto the table. So it will be only charged if that particular dish has been savoured. So naturally the food array seems to be a long stretch from one end to the other.

This Otak Otak fish paste taste quite nice. With some coconut fragrance, it’s good to be eaten just the way it is. Not too spicy either.

However, I find this Grilled Chicken a bit hard to my liking. Not much juice that I can taste of.

But at least I got this Siakap Masak Lemak to keep my appetite moving. The fish head was decently cooked and the taste of the gravy was nice and fragrant.

Luckily, they do have an acceptable selection of beverages.
You may ask form orange juice, carrot milk, watermelon or even longan drink. But the best resides in the Avacado with chocolate. The avocado was finely blended, and was smooth and blend well with the chocolate. So amidst the milky texture of it, you too can enjoy some chocolathy sweetness.

Your favourite chill-out oasis, HOUSE GTOWER - Restaurant, Bar & Winepost, has
recently thrown a party in conjunction with its relaunch celebration which took
place on 21st August
2015, which also features collaboration with the famed Haig Club’s Single
Origin Scotch Whiskey.

A brief
history of HOUSE

THE STORY

From Food Escapades To Lifelong Friendships

A group
of friend who loved to explore new cultures and cuisines shared among
themselves; their food escapade from around the globe. The realized that all
the elements they loved most from their travels could not be found anywhere in
Malaysia. It was then they decided on a new dining concept that blends a
Restaurant, Bar and Winepost, hence the idea of HOUSE was born.

Perfect ambiance
to enjoy and unwind yourselves over light-hearted camaraderie, before embarking
on a journey that makes you feel like home.

This relaxed
HOUSE entices you with its great food and fine selection of beverages housed
within its modern yet unassuming glass and wooden interior design to offer you
a cool destination for friends to meet, chill out and have fun.

House serves
unique and wholesome Asian, Western, and Fusion Cuisines that will that allows
diners to delight in wide variety of offerings to suit any occasions or
craving, and also experience its Signature winepost where you can personally
selecting your very own wine from over 500 labels stemming across 20 regions, satisfying
your taste buds from a.m. to p.m.

Invited guests, media and bloggers
alike were truly entertained with euphonic live band and treated with an array
of moreish carte du jours which we shall share with you guys in a short while.
Not only the taste buds were sumptuously titillated, diners of the evening were
also treated with free flow cocktail that also includes the signature mix by
Haig Club too.

Let’s not toast with an empty tummy,
shall we?

After seated down comfortably by the
amiable staff, we were firstly served with some appetizers, before proceeding
to the mains and rounded up with desserts.

WILD
MUSHROOM SOUP (MYR 18.90)

Signature soup of the House that is
served cappuccino style.

Very foamy and thick, lusciously
appealing to the gustatory sense, especially when dipped with the fragrantly
toasted garlic bread.

BEETROOT
SALAD (MYR 25.90)

A salubrious plate of Romaine
lettuce, arugula, dragon fruit, orange segment, cherry tomatoes, beetroot,
raisins, pinenuts, pumpkin seeds and honey mustard vinaigrette dressing.

Ahoy, mains from the East!

HAINANESE
CHICKEN RICE (MYR 26.90)

Poached chicken served with fragrant
ginger rice and homemade garlic chili. Just the way you like it to be homely
done.

Now sandwiches from the West!

HOUSE
CLUB SANDWICH (MYR 26.90)

Toasted white bread layered with
turkey, bacon and ham, fried egg, tomato and lettuce. Moist with adequate and
light mayo dressing and the fries was also a lovesome companion.

SPAGHETTI
PRAWN TAPENADE (MYR 34.90)

Spaghetti was done al dente before
deliciously served with olive tapenade, juicy prawns, arugula and cherry
tomatoes. Taste might be slightly over the arugula mild bitterness side, nevertheless,
pleasantly sprinkled with briny cheese powder.

CHICKEN
SATAY PIZZA (MYR 29.90)

Our favourite Malaysian staple
snack- satay!

Decently thin crust spreaded with
turmeric marinated chicken and sweet peanut sauce topped with mozzarella
cheese.

Last but not least, winded up the
fabulous night on a sweet note along with some interestingly vibrant beverages!

DECONSTRUCTED
TIRAMISU (MYR 17.90)

Unlike the cliché elaborated
serving, the rendition by HOUSE showcases a much more avant-garde style;
layered moist espresso-soaked lady fingers and mascarpone cream, dusted with
cocoa powder for extra indulgence. Simple and mouthwateringly tempting.

Mocktail

CUCUMBER
+ APPLE + MINT JUICE (MYR 18.90)

Fresh apple juice, lime juice, mint
and brown sugar

BERRIES
BOOSTER (MYR 18.90)

Black grapes, raspberries,
blueberries and strawberries

For the Cocktail selections, we
sampled some of the recommended signatures.

CAIPRIOSKA
(MYR 31.90)

Vodka, lime wedges and brown sugar

APPLE
MOJITO (MYR 30.90)

LIME
MARGARITA (MYR 32.90)

Before calling it a day, let’s also have
a few swigs of the much celebrated signature cocktail by Haig Club, that also
happened to be the crowd’s favourite.

TROPIC SOUR

A
citrus concoction blending in Haig Club, fresh lime juice, homemade pineapple
syrup and grand marnier.

Thanks Sam!

HOUSE is the realization of a story
of a group of people who share their passion for food, found each other as
strangers and ended up with life-long friendship. So remember to check out this
place whenever you are nearby for some sensuous enjoyment together with your
comrades!

Cheers
for now and follow us at Carpe Diem for
more ‘food-ful’ discoveries! ❤ℒℴѵℯ❤

Fish & Co. has
recently launched its new lunch set menu that is wallet-friendly to cater for the
every briskly lunch crowds starting from MYR 11.95 onwards.

Came
up with two categories of Hungry Set and Very Hungry Set, the latter would be
much more appealing to those who have a bigger appetite, wanting more varieties
to its main course as it comes with 2 side dishes.

Hungry Set

SPAGHETTI POMODORO (MYR 11.95)

Your
usual comfy pasta with red sauce, added with some chunky bites of sweet-savory
tomatoes.

VONGOLE AGLIO OLIO (MYR 18.95)

For
the fans of clam, this would made a decent plate of your comfy meal, although
it would be better should more olive oil are added to it for that smoother
nuance.

CAESAR SALAD WITH GRILLED CHICKEN
(MYR 14.95)

This
green salad surprisingly fares pretty good with its added chewy bites of tender
diced chicken meat that are adequately marinated.

ARCTIC FISH
& CHIPS (MYR 17.95)

You just couldn’t go wrong with a piece of freshly fried catch of
the day paired with thickly cut fries! Batter was gladly not overly thick and
remain crispy in every mouthful bites. The only hiccup from personal
perspective was the dipping sauce which is tad too sweet for me, rather than
slightly sourish like tartar sauce. Just thought that the mild tartness from
the pickled cucumber bits would balance out the whole fried food serving or any
greasiness (which is not so apparent over here, so not to worry about that)

GRILLED PERI-PERI POLLOCK WITH
PAELLA RICE (MYR 17.95)

For
those who prefer some healthier choice, you may have it grilled and drizzled
with some spiced relish of peri-peri condiments made inhouse. Not too spicy but
more on the savory side.

Now,
let’s move on to the bigger portion.

Very Hungry Set (comes with
2 side dishes)

GRILLED PERI-PERI CHICKEN (MYR
20.95)

The
slab of chicken meat is equally flavorful and tenderly done, basted in the
house special peri-peri sauce. Goes well with rice that is added with some
raisins.

SEASONAL CATCH WITH SPICY TERIYAKI
(MYR 22.95)

A
slight variation from the common plate, this grilled fish is accompanied by
Japanese-inspired gravy to tickle the palate delectably, with rather mild,
peppery taste.

CORIANDER
CATCH (MYR 23.95)

As clearly presented, this round the fish is nutritiously served
with green coriander paste that is too gooey for me. Personally would liken it
to be drier for some textured nuance and perhaps a little sprinkles of salt would
do the overall dish a favour too.

GRILLED SALMON CAJUN STYLE (MYR
25.95)

Eventually,
toothsome salmon fillet joins the group deliciously with lightly grilled exterior
to lock the juiciness within.

Super
add-on deal is also available to further spice up the enjoyment, with soup of
the day available at only MYR 5.95 and MYR 3.50 for side dishes, from paella
rice, chips, mashed potato, homemade coleslaw to seasonal vegetables.

And i love the mashed potato the most (=

Last but not least, clear the throat with some iced lemon tea after the ‘fish-ful’
feast of the night!

Cheers for now and follow usat Carpe Diem for
more ‘food-ful’ discoveries! ❤ℒℴѵℯ❤

If you are on the lookout

for some cozy place to chill out over scrumptious nosh with a lakeside view,

then you might want to consider this lively place of B.G.T Lakeview Restaurant

& Bar, located just facing the lake of Plaza Kelana Jaya.

Embarked initially with

pasta-centric menu, now it welcomes guests with more varieties of creative and playful savory menu, to delight the taste bud of Klang

Valley folks which also includes the King of Food- Durian, but the dessert way.

Curious? Do stay on patiently with the reviews (=

Diners could anticipate a

night of romantic lakeside dining experience of Italian and Asian fusion food

by the breezing lake, cooked and prepared thoughtfully in a sublime setting

that oozes alluring culinary affair.

The ambiance is different

by day and night.

Upper floor for cooler surrounding.

Some iced lemon tea to cool off that sultry day....

Crustacean cold plate to

start off the review session that relaxing evening.

GIANT HEAD PRAWN SALAD

(MYR43)

Indeed a vibrant and

refreshing starter to spice up the day- a composition of tangy, bouncy prawn

meat, sweetened up by motley of fruits such as strawberries, green apples,

orange, watermelon and raisin

AMORI DI MARE SOUP (MYR20)

Lots of garlicky kick are

conspicuous in this bowl of red soup, cooked up with assorted seafood such as

mussels, prawns, squids and clams, before served with few pieces of garlic

toasties.

TORTELLINI BEEF

(MYR21)

Resembling the Italian

signature of ravioli or the Chinese dumplings these

dumplings are juicily filled with minced beef meat that are served atop savory

red sauce accompanied by crisp greens

GANGNAM PRAWN (MYR20 PER

100G)

Every bites of these fried Sabah prawns are a delightful one, with

each is tastily caramelized with some buttery hint, while remaining juicy

underneath the crispy shells, ala Jiangnan

Fried Chicken chicken style.

BGT PETITE DI POLLOK

(MYR25)

Nicely breaded fried

rolled chicken meat that is decently layered with ham, cheese and spinach,

before moistened up with creamy drizzle of capers. Reminds me of cordon bleu

though....

GRILLED LAMB SHOULDER

(MYR41)

Generous slabs of tender

meats that are well marinated and garnished with mashed potato and served

together with crisp bites of asparagus stems as well as lovely potato wedges.

SPAGHETTI SEAFOOD AGLIO

OGLIO (MYR29)

Your kind of simply but

hearty pasta served aglio olio way, coupled with spiced seafood.

PAELLA ITALIANS (MYR29)

BGT’s rendition of seafood

paella, lusciously served with fresh oceanic sweetness from mussels, clams,

calamari and chewy prawns. I nearly thought it’s risotto, hehe…

More hankering for some

freshly homemade pasta still? Then these several colorful or rather rainbow

fettucine are worth trying. All colours are sourced from natural ingredients.

They also offer all-you-can-eat pasta for lunch at MYR18.80.

Spinach Fettuccine With Bolognese

Black Sesame Fettuccine

Tomatoes Fettuccine With Cream Carbonara

If your taste bud is

craving for something oriental, then this homemade ‘lo shu fan’ makes a good

try.

KONG PO LOU SHI FUN (MYR21)

Stir-fried till fragrant

with adequate ‘wok hei’ to tame the discerning palate of yours.

FRUITY CREPE LAVA (MYR21)

Tower of fruity cubes

liberally brighten up the inhouse prepared crepe, albeit I would prefer it to

be thinner as it’s kinda floury to my liking.

Nothing beats a delish

wood fired pizza!

MEAT LOVERS PIZZA (MYR35)

BGT’s own creation of hams

and sausages for meat lovers

HAWAIIAN PIZZA

All-time favourite that

never go wrong with this citrusy and savory pairing, and I believe it shall

resume its evergreen status undoubtedly

BGT WOOD FIRED DURIAN

PIZZA (MYR25)

An inventive and playful tweak to

the ubiquitous durian dessert. Mixing into a fine and pleasantly pungent paste

of Musang King and Red Prawn (locally call it as ‘ang heh’), they both made a

delightful base for the pizza dough, slightly enhanced with parmesan and

mozzarella cheese to present you simplicity at its best.

All in all, I really love their thinly

baked crispy crust! Just can’t have enough of it!

Even till the end of the review

session, my mind and palate are still lingering around the smacking-good of the

boldly transformed durian into a savory serving. Guess the reason for my future

return is quite apparent huh? May be also the caramelized huge prawns to fix my

deep fried seafood cravings too.

Cheers for now and Carpe Diem! ❤ℒℴѵℯ❤
