Fresh Mango Cream with Pamelo

I suppose every meal wouldn’t be complete without a dessert to sum it up then lol So here we have the Fresh Mango Cream with Pamelo, which is equally a signature fare from the metropolitan city of TVB’s drama. In my humble opinion, this dessert has been done real good for it’s neither too creamy nor sweet. All the ingredients like freshly sliced mango, pamelo and sago, have been proportionately added to create a dessert bowl of mango-themed dessert. It’s really mouthwatering, full of mango aroma and we still can finish it off after the many delicious dishes that we have stuffed into our tummy. Guess the dinner has ended on a sweet note nicely and satisfactorily, with each one of us, heading back to home with a big smile lol

Would miss this cutesy corner of the restaurant.......

Oiso 3rd Outlet Smile May 02, 2013

Finally, I am back for my favourite Korean restaurant again, Oiso, which has just opened its latest third outlet at Ikano fantastically! I suppose their business is really doing well, that enables this robust growth of expansion. Plus, the helpful and amiable crew at work with the ever down-to-earth boseu, Mr Kim, that made all this possible with this new 3D- themed décor.

With the humble and ever smiling boss, Kim-san :)

With the humble and ever smiling boss, Kim-san :)

Even when we are just nearby the entrance, we are already warmly greeted both by the staff and the cheerful boss. We are definitely smitten by the friendliness, and in no time, we are seated comfortably before we realized we are already being served with two nice pots of tea. With aesthetic and nice ceramics, two different types of Korea tea are served and they are very nice to drink especially warm. The tea is just being prepared at the right consistency and sweetness, that is really soothing to the throat as well, not only tummy lol

Will be sure to come back for more and needless to say, am an avid fan of Oiso! smile

After exploring all this while, looking and searching for delectable cheese menu that satisfies my taste and heart, I finally found my "small spot of joy" at The Meat Experts, locating at Hartamas Shopping Centre. It is the Spanish Cheese Platter that comes in 7 Variants! This particular café offers guests a mosaic of cheese, depending on you preference, apart from dairy, poultry and liquors selection.

This is definitely one of the best rewarding discoveries for someone who got cheese as his object of love and was his focus of interest to meet and socialize with friends alike. And here, The Meat Experts offer just the right place to hang around casually with buddies, chatting and reminiscing all the good old days, at this cozy airy environment. Best paired with wine as well lol

As the day was still early, so we thought that it’s better to start with some juice first. Some fibre booster perhaps tongue Here, we got ourselves Lambda’s Carrot Juice with Orange Pulp. At first sip, it’s some kind of an acquired taste. I guess it must be due to the carrot breed used, but it got better after awhile. Apart from that, it’s refreshing.

Soon, our long-awaited entrée arrived! “Spanish Cheese Platter”! As delightful just at the sight of it, we can’t wait to taste them and let the velvety morsels melt in our mouth. The spread consist of 5 types of Cabrales Cheese flavours, namely rosemary, almond, pepper, paprika and herbs. The paprika variety fascinates me. Its flavour is direct, milky, and very buttery on the tongue, with aromas of yogurt and smoked spices. Fret not, it’s not as spicy as it may look tongue

As for the Mahon Cheese, it is one of the few cow's milk cheeses made in Spain, from the island of Menorca to be exact. This gourmet cheese which is of semi-firm category, boasts certain sharpness with some milky sweet and floral aroma.. However, it is also surprisingly sour and slightly tangy with roasted nuts and fudge-like toffee remaining on the palate.

Not forgetting the seventh Queso De Oveja cheese, which fares pretty well with its smooth and creamy texture, that are bright with tangy grass notes of sheep's milk, I find it to be excellent eaten plain, on a cracker or baguette, and that’s why foccacia bread was there as well. With some butter to spread on if you would like it that way lol Or you can pair it wish some cherry tomatoes and parsley too. It’s quite filling as each cheese came at a weight of 20 gm each. Sufficient to satisfy any cheese lovers, that’s for sure! ^^

Before wrapping up jovially, we called for their Turkey Sandwich too. I can’t stop adoring and appreciating the sumptuousness of the delish dish even till now. The sandwich was actually dripped with some olive oil on the top, I believed, which made it so tantalising that the aroma wafted in the air the moment it arrived. With savoury turkey ham and French fries to accompany, it’s nothing other than two thumbs up! Fresh lettuce with slices of lettuces and onions rings, further zest up the dish. Slurps!

Truly one of its kind excursion that would surely keep me looking forward to make another revisit very soon… ^_^

Authentic Italian Dining Smile Aug 21, 2014
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Italian | Restaurant | Pizza/Pasta | Seafood

Charmingly decorated with exposed brick façade that exudes the very essence of Italian dining, La Risata which means “The Laughter”, welcomes you to a mirthful, gastronomic journey of authentic Italian food.

Touted as one the famous bevanda, I tried Virgin Mojitos as recommended. True enough, it’s very refreshingly awakening with its fragrant mint leaves and lime juice with Italian soda. An all-time companion, especially during the sultry day. Alcohol-free though smile

US Grilled Angus Grain Fed Tenderloin 100days- 250g (MYR 78)
The thick slab of undercut is bountiful with voluptuous tenderness, succulently grilled to perfection with roasted vegetables and green beans with 3 choices of sauce to compliment with.
Sauce: Creamy Mushroom / Cheese Gorgonzolla / Brown Sauce
Sagliola Baked
A nutritious dish of wood-fired oven baked whole Barramundi, drizzled with truffle olive oil served with potpourri of grilled mixed vegetables.
Seafood Pasta
Duck and Mushrooms Pizza
Zucotto
Liqueur dome cake filled with chocolate and vanilla cream with almond, hazelnut and chocolate bits.
Choc Cake
Flourless dark chocolate cake with a melting chocolate center- best eaten while served hot per se, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. And you just can’t go wrong with it!
Indeed one of the best Italiane restaurant in town!

RI YAKITORI  Smile Oct 23, 2015
Categories : Japanese | Hotel Dining

After a whirlwind of Ramadhan buffets recently, finally found a soothing oasis to really
unwind a little while, accompanied by a salmagundi of deliciously grilled
skewered treats at Ri Yakitori, under the good hands of Chef Isao, who has joined St Giles bandwagon recently.

Chef Isao and Sous Chef Zimiel

With a refined sense of style and contemporary touches, Ri-Yakitori delivers inventive and
traditional takes on Japanese Yakitori such as skewers of juicy chicken, tender beef and fresh vegetables, just to name a few, served alongside classic Japanese dishes as well.

Located at the Level 7 of The Gardens Hotel, this svelte establishment poised as a perfect venue for convivial dining, both casual or formal and even special occasion to commemorate it vividly. Amiable service awaiting diners upon arrival, before seated comfortably within the splendor environment of Zen-like ambiance, especially with the urbane and calming warm lighting.

There is even a room dedicated for ardent fans of pool to foster goodwill among comrades.Crisp julienned cabbage, served complimentary with savoury dipping (goma and special shoyu sauce) as a welcoming starter.

GRILLED CHICKEN SERVED WITH MIYABI SAUCE (MYR 30)

One of the latest addition to be introduced to epicurean this quarter, grilled chicken meat with special tangy sauce.

Dished out with fresh asparagus and mushroom slices, the chicken meats are succulently served in a bite-sized portion, making them much more convenient to be enjoyed hassle-free. The meats are lightly grilled on the skin till slightly brownish before topped off with appetizing bits of Japanese plum. Certainly makes a good palate opener.EBI TEMPURA (MYR 47)

Sizeable prawns are lighted coated with tempura and fried till golden brown. Crispy on the outside and remain soft and succulent within. Best eaten while hot for the crispy kick or dip into some tempura sauce should you prefer some moisture to your seafood fritters.

CHICKEN KEBAB (MYR 14)

Tender chicken meat grilled to perfection with crunchy cuts of capsicums and leek, served with teriyaki sauce. Nicely flavoured and not overly done.

Here comes the meaty plate, surely a joy for meat lovers!

From the foreground; MOMO (Chicken thigh –MYR 10), TEBA (Chicken Wings- MYR 10) and KAWA (Chicken Skin MYR 6), served with yakitori tare sauce.

Love the lush meat cutlet, very saporous albeit lightly marinated. The chicken wings are skillfully grilled to a silky texture in the inside while remaining crunchy on the skin. As for the rest skewered meats, they are thoroughly encased with soy fragrance, making them a very appealing nosh. I was wondering why the meat are so flavoursome despite none are involved in any long-hours marinade and then I was told that all yakitori are actually lightly sprayed with sake prior to grilling, giving it a heavier dose of culinary injection. Now that’s a great idea that deserves another thumbs up!

(For Muslim customers, this step of using sake would be excluded, so worry not ^^)

TSUKUNE (MYR 10)

Juicy homemade chicken meatball served with teriyaki sauce and mustard paste at the side.

Presented in the oblong-shaped unconventionally, this toothsome meatball does not compromise on the gustation, but continues tickle your taste bud with the unmistakably bounciness and juicy-packed patty. You could now temporarily forget about your mundane foot-long sausage I suppose (=

MUNE (MYR 8)

Cubes of juicy chicken breast served with bainiku sauce and oba leave.

I quite like the zesty taste projected by the umeboshi relish (popular pickled plum paste in Japan), that give the dish a balanced mixture of both sour and salty.

SHAKE OCHAZUKE (MYR17)

One of the most homey Japanese food. A hearty bowl of salmon rice soup, served with laces of salmon meat and Japanese pickles as accompaniment.

The imported pickles are especially appetizing, indirectly helps to spice up the overall dish.

KAMONAMBA (MYR 32)

Special soba noodles served in hot duck broth.

The clear soup broth is indeed a mirthful delight to bask in, would we better if the duck meat is more moist and tender.

If you are still up for some snacks, here you go.

Mentaiko Onigiri Rice Ball (MYR 21)

Triangular-shaped Japanese rice ball and served with pickled as well as imported mentaiko paste from Japan.

Okonomiyaki

Another must-have in the house in this Japanese pizza liberally drizzled with savoury tonkatsu sauce. Each bite is mouthwateringly filled up with crisp cabbages generously, in addition to the richness of tonkatsu sauce, seaweed and bonito flakes. Simply an awesome grub from the Land of The Rising Sun!

As for the dessert choices to fix your sweet tooth craving, get ready to satiate from…….

YUZU SHERBET (MYR 12)

MACHA ICE CREAM (MYR 12)

Or lovely DORAYAKI with azuki paste and garnished with fruity strawberries.

During the weekends, the bar also presents live sport together with a menu that features a wide variety of Western and Malaysian fusion flavors. For more info, do stay tuned at Ri Yakitori page for more updates.

**
The menu is available for orders up to 11:00pm daily

**
Ri- Yakitori is pork-free but offer alcohol on its menu
