Classic Combo Three

As you might know. Mizi Bistro offers diners a variety of delish Western fusion that nonstop wetting my palate. So come this Classic Combo Three! It’s actually a platter of lamb, chicken and also fish, that are laid on a bed of mashed potatoes, with crunchy side dishes like carrots, broccoli and also its savory sauce. The meat are tenderly done and still succulent, especially the lamb meat. As for the fish meat, I always love the way they grill it till it’s slightly crispy on the outside, but remain soft in the inside. But this platter could be quite filling and best shared with another friend lol

This is actually the third outlet of Mizi Bistro. Just that this time round is located somewhere nearby to Straits Quay, one of the latest hype area that offers great sea view with many international yachts stopping by. It always has the comfy environment and vintage feel whenever you step into their restaurant. You’ll instantly be awed by their creative trinkets decoration dangling around you. It also welcomes its guests with warm surrounding with informative tables (there are names of the herbs printed under the glass table for your information and I quite keen on this idea) lol

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood

Still yet to be fully satisfied with the local delights of Ayer Itam, we drilled further down to nearby place, called Bee Wei Seafood Restaurant for our dinner time! ^^

This place was highly recommended as we heard that Sally has shifted here. Well, for your information, Sally is the owner of the nearby local restaurant, which also serves good Chinese cuisine, that has shifted to this new location. As the previous shop has been drawing throng of crowd, so does this new place as well. The reason she is so well-known is that they served real tasty oriental dishes at absolutely great price, which I guarantee you won’t be able to find a similar one in those metropolitan city, hehe.

Soup dish is a typical menu for Chinese folks alike, and there is a vast selection out there, depending on your taste bud. So we started off with Chinese Peanut Soup. The soup was boiled with spareribs, therefore gave the soup the natural sweetness, without the need to add much flavour enhancer. The peanuts used were big and soft after being boiled, plus, the portion was just nice as it wasn’t too big bowl. Most importantly, the soup is clear and without much fat.

Come to the main star of the night, Fried Mantis Prawn with Nestum. This dish was gorgeous! Never had I thought mantis prawn could be prepared in such a way. Usually I would just have them plain steamed. The prawns were sweet and juicy, and slightly crispy with the added nestum flakes. Its flavor was further enhanced with added small chilies and curry leaves. Best part of all, they all had been unshelled lol Yummy………

Next to join out table was Claypot Bean Curd. The bean curd was silky as we opt for local made bean curd, so it was much smoother. One special thing about this dish is that, this restaurant is serving it with roasted pork or so called “Siu Yuk”. Thus, it’s very aromatic in the gooey gravy alongside with fresh greens like cabbage, scallions, carrots, mushroom and many more. Definitely good to go with white ricesmile Also not forgetting to order a plate of stir-fried lettuce, which tasted equally good.

Last but not least, you can clear you throat with some Ambula Juice and 8 Herbs Tea (a.k.a. Pat Bo Cha), which were cooling! Do take note that one of the best Ambula Juice is served here, for the juices are really fresh from the fruit itselfsmile

Besides all the fried fritters, Zim Sum does offer customers other cooked dishes like noodles, porridge and many more.

One of the signature dish would be this “Sang Mee”.

Literally translated would be “Raw Noodle”, hehe… Cause the mee was actually yee moon which had earlier been lightly fried, then tossed with hot gravy that consist of many delights.

The noodle was crispy and soaked in the eggy gravy thoroughly. The assorted ingredients that came with it was fresh and in generous portion! It has fresh Choy Sam, big prawns, tender fish fillet and also chicken bites which further enhance the sweetness within. The seafood were fresh indeed. Slurps!

Come these steamed cakes.

They were fluffily soft and best eaten while warm. I think it’s made of brown sugar and egg mixture. The fact that some pumpkin seeds were added to it, further enhances the flavor.

There is also array of hot steamed dim sum if you like.

They are varieties of them. I personally enjoy the prawn dumpling which was wrapped up neatly in thin whitish skin. The prawn was so juicy! The “Siu Mai” was ordinary and I do enjoy the springy bites of fish balls too ^^

Hao Hao Che! ^_^

Restoran Zim Sum @ Anson Road Smile Jul 27, 2012

Well, am pretty sure that Penang is widely known by all as one of the best food haven here. One just can’t get enough to explore all the snacks that the Pearl of Orient got to offer. And that’s what keep me yearning and coming back for more! tongue

This time round, we pay a visit to one of the famous dim sum house in the town. Zim Sum Restaurant, is the trademark! Initially I was captivated by its creative brand, “Zim Sum” instead of “Dim Sum”. Luckily, the food spread does meet my expectation, and I would give double thumbs up! ^^

It is located at the busy street, Anson Road where you will see crawls of traffic at most of the time. SO be smart to find you parking place^^. I also heard that at night, this restaurant would turn into a Korean Steamboat. Isn’t that cool? That, I’ll reserve for next visit, hehe..

It’s always that crowded in the morning. After all, who could resist such a alluring spread of yummy dim sums? ^^

I love their egg tart very much! It’s flaky on the pastry but silky with the egg custard within. The vanilla essence further improve the aroma without overdoing it.

Carrot cake was fragrantly fried. It might be bit oily, but taste real good when eaten with their chilly sauce. Yippie!

After eating all the fried snacks, you can opt for some Chinese cooling tonic to cool the body. It’s not bitter, so fret not, even cordycep-like herbs are added to it, as it is naturally sweetened by dates and wolfberries.
