Wild Mushroom Stroganoff

You can also be more adventurous and explore more other than the usual main entrée. Perhaps you can go with Wild Mushroom Stroganoff first. This plate of pasta is cooked al dente, with mushrooms is sliced and then cooked in a rich paprika sauce, just like the Hungarian way. It seems like our Hungarian friends have a knack in making its dish slightly soupy for better enjoyment. Yea, of course, I do enjoy it very much and feel warm from the bottom of my heart. For those that are in KL, you may also get a taste of Hungarian-infused cuisine at Backofen too.

Vegetable Lasagne with Pesto

Worry not if you are sceptical whether does this poultry-riched eatery would cater for our vegan folks. They do have a decent array of vegetarian choices for you to choose from such as this delectable Vegetable Lasagne with Pesto. It comes with assortments of vegetables- my favourites, and pasta layered with rich basil tomato sauce. I have been a huge fan of pesto-themed recipe ever since tasted it at Wong Kok restaurant at one lunch appointment. Love the herby aroma and not slightly intimidated by the greenish sauce lol You need not have to go without the creaminess when it comes to vegetarian as this fare is also baked with mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Slurps!

Baked French Onion  Smile Aug 23, 2013   (Related Review)

Baked French Onion

After been trying the famous signature mushroom soup all this while, we decided to go for something new, which is the Baked French Onion. But please don’t be misled by its name as some kind of onion rings like those from Tony Roma’s, as this is purely a soup-themed fare. It is equally gratifying with its thickness and the consistency of the onion soup, that has been spiced up with some croutons as well. Having said that, of course you may still ask for some cheese powder if you are a real cheese aficionado, just like me tongue

Spanish Omelette  Smile Aug 23, 2013

Spanish Omelette

What’s so special about omelette, some of you might think. Well, it is no longer a boring and mundane dish nowadays as it has been given some facelift, so called, with the many cultural influences nowadays. Especially when you are in Penang, you have nothing less to expect, especially the sumptious spread of nice food available here. There you go, the Spanish Omelette by Mizi Bistro, located in the vicinity of Straits Quay. This plate of eggy recipe is served Served upside-faced with sliced caramelised onion, tossed with mushroom, potatoes and capsicum in a tomato pulp. It definitely requires some certain level of skill in preparing such a playful recipe. The tanginess of the mushroom is very enjoyable, alongside my favourite potatoes, which are bit mushy delightfully.

Sui Kau OK Aug 22, 2013   (Related Review)

Sui Kau

Apart from their famous ‘wan tan mee’, their ‘sui kau’, or so called dumpling, is quite tasty too. Wrapping within is the meaty filling of minced meat, that is not too fatty and have been nicely marinated from some hours.Tagging along with the meat are some bites of scallions and water chestnut as well to enhance the overall taste. Crunchy and chewy, seems to go well with the smooth skin of the dumpling.
