Amelia Café & Shop

This cosy restaurant marks the last night we are going to spend the night over here at Small Perhentian Island. Therefore, we decided to just have our dinner at the place nearby our Shar-rila Resort since we have tried it at Long Beach the night before. Overall, I think the food here is pretty good. Comes with a decent portion, at least better than the other café and equipped with the basic facilities, besides the ever cooling sea breeze. Even at night, you won’t feel stuffy and as comfortable as always. You could also have a so called ‘sandy massage’ on your leg when your seating and waiting for your food to arrive. If you are keen on BBQ seafood, then you could opt to place an order to them, or easier, just select from the menu lol Just that you have to wait a little while for the food to be ready as the crowd might get too huge during peak season.

Cikgu Nasi Ulam Restaurant OK Sep 12, 2013

Cikgu Nasi Ulam Restaurant

I once heard this place via one local food program. And now, I have come to this Kota Bharu town eventually, thanks to the guidance the local cabbie that recommend to us. This place is located quite near to Pasar Besar Siti Khatijah. It is said that this place is very famous amongst the locals for its fresh Ulam at a very affordable price too. The vegetables are eaten mostly raw, and you may couple with some tempoyak, which is some savoury condiments made from Durian! The paste is a bit mushy but definitely strong smell still smile But I still yet to learn how to appreciate eating the raw vegetables, hehe.

ABC OK Sep 12, 2013

ABC

Need something to cool off the body after some splendid feast? Try getting their ABC and that shall do the trick lol The dessert is rather common with the usual addition of ingredients like groundnuts, jellies, green cendol stripes, red bean, sweet corns and many more. Ice is rather coarsely shaved and paired with adequate evaporated milk and rose syrup. Each scoop of the ABC is chilling and not too sweet. You also get to enjoy munching the chunky nuts besides the chewy grass jelly cubes.

Chicken Burger OK Sep 11, 2013

Chicken Burger

When you are holidaying at uphill, actually there is nothing much to choose from lol But still at any cold night, you would somehow crave for some hot stuff. Luckily there was this little stall selling some burger for you to snack and keep you warm at night smile Well, this chicken burger was pretty normal, comes with the usual chicken patty that is cooked with some dashes of pepper and salt. Overall flavour is enhanced with some squeezes of mayonnaise and chilli sauce. With julienned cabbage.Though nothing to boast about, at least something hot to fill up the hunger pangs tongue

Pancake with sautéed bell peppers

I usually very enjoy and appreciate the carefree feeling when enjoying breakfast buffet at hotel during vacation. After getting up from a good sleep the night before, you would be treated with a good spread of food to start your day. For me, I tend to immerse in the more Westernized culture where I would help myself with some pancake alongside the many choices of dish. This pancake is baked nicely with the right consistency as it is not too floury but delightfully delectable to the taste bud. I actually added some maple syrup to it, and it so happen to be absorbed quickly into it. Besides, I do pair it with some sautéed capsicums to fulfill my healthy fibre diet smile
