The evening mixed rice stall in Desa Setapak Restaurant is always full of crowd, undoubtedly that the dishes are quite up to expectation. For the curry vegetables, it tastes quite flavorsome, not too spicy, however sometime the long bean in the curry appear to be slightly overcooked. The soy sauce pork is delicious and very “meaty”, not just pork oil only. The varieties are quite a lot and reasonably priced too.

Selling at RM1.60 per piece, this is Cheese Raisin Bun. It is topped with dried raisin and a layer of cheese with some sprinkles of castor sugar to sweeten the taste. The cheese layer is quite delicious and the raisin which also enhances the overall taste of the bun. I personally like this raisin cheese bun of MR Bread. And it would be better if there are more raisins on the topping.

Kopitiam Desa is a very price friendly restaurant, the desserts only cost RM1.30 for dine-in and RM1.60 for takeaway. This Longan with Winter melon dessert offers a relatively lesser substantial flavor comparing to other coconut milk based dessert which has a thicker flavor. Not too sweet and it is suitable to be served either hot or cold, especially cooling during hot weather.

This Hong Kong Style Glutinous Rice is priced at RM2.00, the brownish glutinous rice has a taste that is of reminiscent to the Chinese “Bak Chang” (Glutinous rice dumplings), there is some “Lap Cheong” (Chinese sausage), fried peanuts, “Heh Bee” (dried prawns), and fresh spring onions in it. It is delicious, the only thing is that it may cause some oily aftertaste if taken too much of it.

Restaurant Kwan Sing offers a comfortable setting for one to have mixed rice; it is opened from morning hours till evening hours. There are quite various choices of dish. In addition, complimentary soup is given to all customers regardless if dining in or takeaway. This is example of their stir fried ladies fingers and bean curd sheet with fish paste fillings, both are delicious.
